from what i've read the dd3l operates at a lower voltage in theory, it should process faster. say it operates at 1.25v versus 1.75v, it takes less time from it to go 0 to 1.25 versus 0 to 1.75.
so again, i think only marginal performance difference. benchmarks might pick it up, but i don't know if you can tell the difference while playing games.
nevertheless, its the principle that counts, and lenovo is screwing with people.
i might not ask for money back, i want to see if they can provide me with software like office or something. because at this point, seeing the responses that people have been getting, lenovo doesn't like to give you cash back. -

been thinking about how i will proceed with lenovo. maybe i should go to BBB (better business bureau) and report them. seems for legit and will probably receive a very prompt response from lenovo. the sales rep - it's not his fault that lenovo dropped a huge deuce on the y510p and not quite sure if he will even do me better other than 70 bucks + accessories. -
SK hynix
the hyundai ram is actually running at 1.28v while I am typing, so it is dd3l standard. However, the performance of this ram is quite low.

Maybe we should protest there as well. -

i just got email from lenovo about the ram
"After further investigation of your order, I have determined you will receive the correct memory, DDR3L. The screen shot you sent me is not an accurate display of your configuration; it identifies what may be a suitable replacement part. However, once you view the screen shot it specifies that those parts aren’t serviceable for your machine. Therefore, I am unable to proceed with the no-charge order. I apologize for the incorrect information previously given to you"
they say im goin to get ddr3l
and not ddr3 i will update when i will get my laptop today -
Cant register on Lenovos forums, they just dont sent confirmation email to my GMAIL account.
Also I had a chat with lenovo support, sorry for my bad english:
-
yes the hyundai is ddr3l even though it does not have the "l" in its name
-
cpu-z say i have ddr3
-
Ive published chat log with sales rep. Noone could answer me how i get Y500 configuration instead of Y510p (
I guess its better to contact law firm, cause Lenovo is still selling "4700QM with DDR3L" -
so running counter strike GO my gpu temp is around 60 playing, bf3 on ultra settings my gpu temp is around 72 Celsius . it idles at 47 according to gpu-z

Please can someone enlight me about this. This machine with i7 Haswell, dual GT750M and 16 GB RAM should be enough to compete with PS4 and Xbox One games? I will be able to run equal (or higher/lower?) than those? (lets say for example Battlefield 4).
I really need to know this to decide what to buy. Thanks a lot. -
Hey guys! Two things, the first is that I see exactly what people mean about the trackpad on this machine, it really is terrible. Second, here's a script that when run as admin, will tell you info about the SSD and expresscache

Which gfx card setup would be better for bf3, bf4, crysis 3, and skyrim? The 750m sli (y510p) or the 770m (MSI gt60 2oc)? Based on notebook check the 770m performs worse in bf3 and crysis 3 according to y510p owners in this thread however someone stated that the 770m is superior in gaming. Is the 750m sli better?

Hey Guys, where can I find the Y510p drivers? My Wi-Fi is acting funny and I hope updating/reinstalling drivers will fix it.

My 2 cents in this whole 4700/4702 debacle is this: When the Y500 first came out, the 3632 model actually cost more than the 3630. The 3632 is like the 4702, the lower voltage version. So maybe in the eyes of Lenovo, they are doing the buyers a favor. It is not an excuse for Lenovo at all and they've been known to false advertise like you would not believe. Like back in the day when I bought the Y500, they advertised it was WiDi capable. Their marketing department and engineering department are not talking to each other and both department suck as bad as their customer support department. The entire company is a big sham, a sick joke, and sooner or later people will noticed and in my case, they can only fool me once.
My theory on why they switched to the 4702 is because of the heat issues. Instead of updating the cooling system, they took the easy way out and stuck a lower voltage cpu in. The 750m running at 1.1v throws way too much heat out for the Y500's cooling system. Heck, the Y500 with 650m running at 1.025v is already running hot in Furmark. It was fine in the winter months, but now that we are in the summer, I'm having issues with temps.
I enjoy my Y500, I like to speak out about the flaws and there are many but the bottom line is that it is damn good at playing games. It just required way too much work on the end user's part to make it an usable machine. I spent a good part of 2 months messing with the touchpad issue and then discovered that my keyboard also was jacked up. But after 6 months of ownership, I can finally relax and enjoy this machine. As long as you know what you are getting into and have the time and patience, this is a good machine. Would I recommend this thing to anyone else? Maybe to my enemies. -
if anyone plays cs:go, can you tell me what fps you guys are getting on all low graphics? at 1080p please:thumbsup:

Dual GT750M vs Radeon 7870?
Are those similar on perfomance? Or wich one is superior? -
Hey, just wanted some help before my laptop comes in tomorrow.
Basically, is it worth it to use the 24gb SSD to install Windows 8 on, instead of leaving it as a caching drive? Even if it is, is that enough space to cover the OS and updates and whatnot? Just want a general idea. Also, if it is more worthwhile to install the OS onto that ssd, how can I do that? Does the laptop come with an installation disk, or do I have to manually port it or something? Thanks for your help guys! -

Hynix 2x 8GB = 16GB KIT DDR3L RAM 1600 Mhz PC3-12800 SO-DIMM [HMT41GS6AFR8A-PB] - Mac Speichershop
Hyn HMT41GS6AFR8A-PB DDR3 1600 8GB <-------- shipment status,
1 thing less to worry about.
The DDR3 on the new patch is a DDR3L, but still, its not hard to put the word L on the shipment is it?
Like really.... 1 press of a key to change.....
Edit: If i aint so into this, how the hack would i know......
Right, so there is One thing only, to complain about, screw the wrong 720m graphics card, wrong advertisement
The only thing is.... 4700mq to 4702mq, which gives the computer 3000 points less then a 4700 on 3d mark test. 3000 points, dats HUGE.... not even joking. 4702= worst then what they got on Y500.... i paid more, for a worst laptop. happy days Lenovo -
Right, i m now trying to calculate how much it is, for them to build one of this laptop. just for fun stay in tune
