How long did your T60 take to ship

*****ing about Lenovos incredibly crappy delivery random generator program.

 

I received mine today , ordered 04/25 and with express shiping and even one day in custom i received it today

 

I ordered my T60 on April 24, and received it last night (May 3). So with apologies to the members here who have experienced long delays, I feel Lenovo did an outstanding job ... a solid 10/10.

Of course, some of this joy may relate to the fact that I am just blown away by this laptop. It took me 12 seconds to get started, 60 seconds to locate and surf on my home wireless network, 120 seconds to load MS Office XP Standard. Between watching the Warrior upset the Mavs and customizing settings on this amazing, light weight, solid machine, it is a wonder I got any sleep at all.

 

Congrats Bluesman, what screen did you get Samsung or LG?

I'm still waiting for mine as it was ordered 4/19 and a 5/15 ship date.

I got the ALP keyboard and Samsung screen. The keyboard is awesome, no complaints at all ... I guess it could be a case of "not knowing better," as I am making a leap from a Dell 5100 to a T60. It feels like a full-size, desktop keyboard, which is really all I care about. In the words of the immortal Bill Withers, "If it feels this good being used, come on and use me up."

The screen is a solid 9/10. I think I need to change/calibrate the brightness setting on the screen (not entirely sure how to do this). The white font fades into light-blue inactive tabs on the task bar, but my "first impression" is that this is a setting problem, not a defect/flaw with the screen. The screen looks incredibly vibrant when surfing.

 

Sorry for those who get delays. Delay may not be really a bad thing. You still have time to consider Santa Rosa at least.

Although I got fast shipping, I got problem too. I could not find out what parts are really in my T60 from parts lookup webpage. It is just said "No parts to list" there. Weird...weird...I guess that they shipped my laptop fast just to give me more time to open up my laptop to find out what parts are really inside.

My screen looks all right for me too. But I am not able to tell you if it's a LG or Samsung.

How about light leakage which was main complaints from people?

 

Nan Na - In the interest of full disclosure, I am not entirely sure what is meant by "light leakage" ... and only got to use it for a couple of hours last night.

But assuming that light leakage refers to brighter/white light "leaking" out of the edges of the screen, my screen does not have that problem. As I mentioned, I think I need to tweak/re-calibrate/set my brightness levels and/or change the font colors ... and more importantly, this could be a feature of Windows XP that I do not like, rather than a screen issue ... i.e., why would they even have white font against a light blue, or a light blue font on white screen? So give me a weekend to play around with it and report back ... in fact, I might sneak out early from work to do just that ... I meeting with my T60 rep (me).

 

Finally, my parts are listed on parts lookup webpage.

I got a LG screen, and a Chicony keyboard. Sweet.

 

Yea strange, my parts did not update for a few days. I could tell though that I got a good screen as soon as I booted it up, So I was going to keep it whether it was an LG or Samsung. Turns out I got the LG though.

Anyway, even without knowing it's LG, I am fine with my screen. Chicony keyboard is regarded as the worst one among the three, but my feeling with it is all right.

 

I've ordered mine on May 4th and the estimated ship day is May 31st which is going to be a big problem even with 2 day shipping since I'll be on a trip to Korea on May 22nd.
I might call Lenovo and see if they can send it before 22nd. If not then I guess i'll just cancel the order and wait till I get back from the trip.

 

suhksb, I ordered my T60(14.1") on 4/22 with an estimated ship date of 5/14, I received it on 4/30. Most of the shipping delays were because of the 15.4" screen shortage(didn't effect me) which I believe has been taken care of.

I had to send in my fist T60 back and reorder b/c of a defect (the reorder date was 5/4) and my estimated ship date is now 6/01. I am hoping like crazy that will take about the same amount of time to get here as my first T60 did. If it does I should get mine around 5/12

Keep an eye out for the shipping conformation email I think you could very well get it before the 22nd

I got the shipping confirmation email the day before yesterday, when I already got my notebook for a couple of days!

I'd suggest that you'd better check your order status instead of waiting for the email.

 

That is a great news for me. I hope that the LCD problem has been taken care of. I'll post if there is any update on my order status.

 

I ordered my T60 on 4/16 with a 5/15 ship date. I check several times a day and it still shows "in process".

 

Ok, Here's the entire shipping process for my t60p from China to here. It should be here anytime now. I'm posting this so those who have not gotten theirs can see how long mine was at each stop, and can have some sort of reference. I ordered on Apr 16 2007....Getting it May 7 2007...21 Days total.

Oh Yea.......and According to UPS my package was considered "Expedited", and still took 8 day in transit from China. So Don't expect much of a speed up by getting bumped to expedited.

 

I order my system on 3/25 and it just now shipped, 5/7. It has been a VERY frustrating ride dealing with Lenovo. When I first called to check the status, it was the 15.4” LCD that was holding things up. I called a week later, it was the wireless card. Every time I called the customer rep would assure me that the part was due on x day and would ship by x date. But it never happed. After three weeks of this, I asked to speak to a manager, who was not that much help, but he did ask if I wanted to file a complaint. Yes the do have a complaint department.

A lady from customer relations called back the next day told me the LCD where the cause of the delay. Now I had a direct point of contact to track my order!! She said the part would be here the next morning and my system would enter manufacturing that Friday evening 4/27 and would ship 5/2. On 5/1, I get an email from her indicating that the LCD’s did arrive and my system was now held up due to the Chinese holiday. OHHH MY GOD. I am told it would be built until 5/9, however, over the weekend I received an email telling me it shipped 5/7. Finally, it’s on it way.

What an ordeal. I almost cancelled my order a couple of times, but then it became a joke to see how many more delays would occur. Customer relations did provide me compensation for the delays, even increased it after the last delay.

Lenovo, has a real product problem with some systems. They can not seem to keep their supply pipeline full for their on demand manufacturing process. They are good at giving excellent mis-information, just on excuse and another.

Now I will see if the system works! I hope sooo.

I've just got the bad news.
My order was on hold because the address on my card and the shipping address I put were different.
I called the customer service and got that taken care of which would probably lead to another day or two delay.
If I get more accurate estimated delivery date tomorrow morning, I might cancel the order.

 

My story is also like you, though I ordered 03/23, and still no shipping information. Did you order a T60p (WS 15.4in), because almost everybody else who ordered a T60 (with 15.4 WSXGA+) screens and .11n wireless cards have received their systems. I dont know if the delay in our cases was because of T60p. Also if you can let me know what screen (LG/samsung) and keyboard your system has.
I am expecting that my system should also ship in a day or two, since now I was given a ship date of 05/09...

 

Just unpacked mine. I can't see how anyone could be disappointed with this computer. Can't you just feel the elegant styling oozing from my font, or the blazing speed of my core 2 duo seeping through my connection. Gaze in awe at the magnificent output of this dynamic enormity of a machine.

........Anyway, well worth the wait.

 

I ordered a preconfigured model 2007c4u on 04/27, but the status is still "in process". I sent them several e-mails asking about that, and they said the product is still unavailable! But when I ordered it, it showed 6 in stock. So how ridiculously Lenovo handles their inventory.

How do you guys think about my order? Is it a decent deal? If not, I might consider cancelling my order.

mag_64: I ordered the T60 with the WSXGA+ 15.4" screen and the 3945 wireless card, and 160mb drive. If you still have not seen movement on you system, insist on talking to the complaint dept. You may get some compensation. My system should be here Tuesday. They also upgraded my shipping from ground to ups/2 day.

I recently recieved an email about my order. When i went to the order status page, I saw that my shipping date was pushed back another week (5/31), but the price of the laptop decreased by about $30. Is this a type of compensation?

 

Just checked the status page, showing it was shipped today. But strangely, with the provided Serial no, I cannot find the warranty and parts info for my machine. Does anybody know how soon the info will be available?

 

Finally got the parts info for my 2007C4U. The good thing is the warranty until August 2010, and the NMB keyboard. The bad is the Panasonic DVD writer and Samsung LCD (14'' SXGA+).

Now I am waiting for its arrival. Good luck to everyone who has not yet had the shipping date.

4/28 - Ordered very late evening. Initial ship date estimate 5/15.
4/29 - Ship date revised to 5/17
5/5 - Notified of shipment! (Billing info to UPS anyway)
5/7 - Received message about FDA approval required
5/7 - Cleared FDA same day!
5/8 (today) - it's on the truck on the way to my house!

So, at least in my case, the original ship estimate was very conservative. I'll be getting the laptop over a week before I expected it to leave China.

Also, did parts lookup and found LG screen and NMB keyboard.

I took care of the address problem with my credit card yesterday but Lenovo still hasn't removed hold on my account which means that there will be even more delay on my T60. Gosh..it wasn't used to be this hard to get T40p four years ago. I might just cancel the order this friday if there is no change on my status.

I ordered a T60p on 04/13 and it's supposed to ship on 05/09. I actually called to cancel the order, but they weren't sure they could stop it. I may keep it if the screen is decent. Better be an LG screen or I probably will send it back. So far, the status page still says "in process". They could take a lesson from Dell on production status.

 

Ordered my t60p on 4/23 and est. ship date is 5/17. It's not a preconfigured and i ordered thru EPP. last time i checked it was still in process.

 

I ordered a T60p on 03/23 and still no shipping. It was supposed to ship first on 04/11, then 04/23, then 04/30, then 05/09, and now on 05/18(building start date). Is there any way I can make a complaint of this BS. I was always given a date which was not very far away from the previously quoted date and at the last moment kicked back further. Had they told me that it would take more than two months, I would really have thought otherwise.

Oh yes I am. I've had a few little problems here and there, but nothing I couldn't solve. I'm loving what a jump in performace this thing is compared to my old laptop... full 1080p video w/o the fan even coming on! about 5-6 hours batt. life with the 9-cell... I've even downloaded a few games just to try out too, including the supreme commander demo...fun game...
Haven't tried out any of my CAD apps or video editing yet... But I'm absolutely loving dual core and the WSXGA+ screen... I'm able to watch a movie all while having IM, bittorrent, and firefox open... Then the hi-res screen lets me have the movie be most of the screen, but then still enough space on the side to watch my stocks w/ the Vista stock-ticker in sidebar, and see my buddy-list for IM...
And this thing is just soo sturdy...
My only complaint...the speakers are pretty weak. Max. volume is less than half the volume on my old notebook. So I've got it hooked up to the 5.1 speakers most of the time...

 

I saw some of you returned your T60 due to Samsung LCD. But regarding to Lenovo's return policy, " Shipping and handling charges generally will not be refunded or credited".
How did you get fully refunded?

Cuz Santa Rosa is coming out tomorrow 5/9/07, you can check out the HP site for the latest new lineup prices tomorrow afternoon. Also, Geforce will also announce the latest DX10 laptop graphic cards tomorrow as well.

If the new HP Santa Rosa laptop $ close to my T60P. I may just well cancel my order as well. It's funny, I've been waiting for my T60P for almost a month, now I rather Lenovo "delay" my order further so that I can wait and see.

From the other post some user was stated that the new T61 is cheaper than T60. Also, seems like T61 won't support DX10 at this point. But I've a very strong feeling I may just cancel my T60P order now. since with the similar config, T61 $ is very closed to the shareholder discounted T60.

From here you can see that it is not worth to change to T61 I ordered T60p which is fully loaded, and for same price I can get t61 buy with nVidia card, and there is only 14.1 WXGA available right now.

 

if it only had IBM logo I would have cancelled my T60p rightaway...I guess it leaves me undecided.....
