    The one I have is G.Skill F4-2400C16D-32GRS.

Ken, from gentechpc, replied that it has to be 2666Mhz RAM.

I see that HID have an option for 2x16GB 2400Mhz

That's funny. I ordered the HID upgrade to 32GB 2666. They used Patriot sticks which were 2666 capable, but ran at 2400. HID sent me replacement sticks which are Corsair, and I have confirmed in CPUID, HWmonitor, etc, that they are running at 2666.

I think that list from GB is only the sticks they've tested and confirmed to work. In a reply they sent to me on the same issue, it seems the sticks have to run 2666 under Jedec, not XMP. So I'm sure there are others that can do this, but they haven't tested them all. Here's the chat response: http://imgur.com/LDdHA9r

From what I understand, XMP is the "new version" and suppose to make OC easier.

I havent see a system that wont take slower RAM.

Is it possible to hear from HID why they offer 2x16GB 2400Mhz RAM and does it work for the Aero 15x? I would had buy from you if I had found you early

well this is very interesting, so what corsair do you use now? I have 2x8Gb DDR4 2666 corsair vengeance CL18 and doesnt work, not even boot, just a blank screen, or maybe because I use latest BIOS (F005) ?

I'm sure you can reach out to HID ask about it. Donald was very helpful when I had questions.

And buy what from me? If you mean my old RAM, I sent it to HID since we swapped for free. And plus, it seems like a waste of money to still get 2666 capable RAM and run it at 2400.

The full model of my RAM is: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 CMSX32GX4M2A2666C18.
An interesting side note: after replacing the RAM, on my first boot, I got the blank screen you're referring to. I waited about 30 seconds and nothing. Obviously got worried. Hard shut down, waited a minute or two, and tried again, and booted up without hitch. Since then, I've done many boot-ups, Aida64 tests, 3DMark, even a 4-pass 6.5 hour memtest test, and everything has been fine. The only odd thing I noticed is that from a cold boot, I don't see the text on the Gigabyte screen showing the F2, F9, F12 options, though if I press the buttons, I can access those functions. If I reboot within Windows, they do show up on that reboot, but still not during cold boots. To be honest, I'm not sure if this was the case before I swapped. It could've been, and I simply hadn't noticed. And for reference, I've been using F05 since it came out in Smart Update like a week ago (I swapped the RAM on Monday).

that's almost same as mine, except I just 16Gb it is Corsair Vengeance DDR4 CMSX16GX4M2A2666C18....very strange, even I have return and replaced to the corsair seller and still just a blank screen, also I have waited a minute, 2minute, maybe more but still just a blank screen

Did you by chance undervolt when you had the original RAM in? I did notice that my undervolt changes in XTU had reverted after I got in the system. Have no idea if that would have anything to do with it, but that's the only thing I can think of.

I mean buy it from HID.
Maybe I should wait a bit before hard shut down.
I am also using F05 for BIOS and same thing for the options.

well I have try everything, really everything anything that I can think of, set everything to the default, etc, etc....still no luck
it's ok maybe true what gigabyte support told me that this RAM is NOT supported by their system (maybe for now), waiting for BIOS patch or something :)

    --Updated---

Well, I can confirm this is not a placebo effect or marketing gimmick, finally my aero 15x v8 running dual channel memory and the result is amazing, in-game performance I have tested so far average increased around 15-30 FPS depending on the game and low FPS is not as low as when running single channel, I tested BF1, Overwatch, Rise of The Tomb Rider, Fornite, The Witcher 3, etc

even this is not 2666mhz memory but at least now it more responsive, since coming from v-color 16Gb 2666Mhz CL19 single channel to G.Skill 2x8Gb 2400Mhz CL16 Dual Channel

    now I'm quiet satisfied :)
(well sort off, need to get 1Tb M.2 SSD)

first time I got blank screen, but I can enter BIOS, I reset to default option then restart and everything working great since then

yeah that's suck and a waste of money buying that corsair since the seller refused to refund, but at least now I'm satisfied with the performance

Today, Windows Update installed new drivers for the ELAN touchpad. I had no chance to "intervene".

This new driver, however, "restored" the old set of features - or rather the utter lack thereof. This update removed the precision touchpad drivers from my AERO 15 which I had installed before (see quote above). In other words, Windows Settings > Devices > Touchpad was blank except for the sensitivity setting.

I reverted to the old driver using Device Manager > Mice > Elan input device and there in the "Driver" tab rolled back to the previous driver. Now I have a precision touchpad again.

Do you know which 2x16GB 2400 MHz RAM work for the Aero 15x v8? Have you tried G.Skill F4-2400C16D-32GRS? Thank you

    Can anyone help me?

How to just reset the microphone setting to default standard from Windows?

I use some headset and it is getting lousy. Some people in games say it might because of sound/mic audio modification from softwares.

I myself not using any other audio softwares beside the factory-installed like this Dolby Digital Plus. I don't know if there are other things modify the audio/mic.

I think you're right. However it seems that the GPU isn't kept on at idle, but rather in a "ready" state. I only assume this as my idle power consumption has increased to 20W from 13-15W (which is much higher than the 9W I used to get with pre-creator update windows).
The process isn't detected by the GPU Activity monitor at all.

does ayone here who has aero 15x v8 can share performance result with latest nvidia driver on Fortnite and Destiny 2 ?
Because on my laptop when using updated nvidia driver ( I mean not the default factory driver) Fortnite performance is worst, around 70-80 Fps and Destiny 2 can't be played because when I try to launch the game there will be only a blank screen, the contrary are when using default factory nvidia driver my Fortnite get around 110-120 Fps with same video settings and I can play Destiny 2.
Is it because I still use windows 10 from factory, I mean should I try to clean install windows 10 without using recovery image?

    --Updated--

Well try by myself, installing on the new m.2 PCIe SSD a new fresh windows 10 based 1803 built and the bad news my problems still exist using latest nvidia driver
Destiny 2 just a blank sreen and Fortnite has bad performance.
Stuck with the default nvidia driver 388.92
waiting update driver from gigabyte then

Try doing a clean installation of the new drivers. That used to help me. I would recommend not having geforce experience installed as that hinders the performance in some games imo. The only reason I have it installed is to use Whisper Mode.

I have some MSI Afterburner question.
I still don't know what should I do with the curve. While playing witcher 3, my cpu gets around 80c. Which is really good (without throttling). I want to undervolt my gpu too.
Can anyone show me the curve you have in Afterburner that works? I have the 1070 max-q model.
    Thank you!

Just played a 20 minute Fortnite match. Running newest Nvidia drivers, Intel drivers, firmware F05, 32GB RAM 2666, undervolt -0.150. I also did a custom fan profile so that maximum fan kicks in at 80C

Set the FPS limit to 144 in the game, and all settings to epic (or ultra, or whatever the max is), and resolution to 1080. Game mostly ran at 105-110FPS with occasional spikes to 120. Temperature was about 82-84C.

I have the same model from 2018 and have the same thing. 100% of the units are like that. The design of that key is two lights on the sides of the word "shift" and not directly under the word. So, the key is dimly lit.

I can't answer your question on fortnite but i have your answer for Destiny2.

The problem here is the 1803 update. This causes the GPU to rest on start of the game due to poor optimization of D2. Its triggered by 1803 newest feature that has added a gpu selection option in the display setting, where you can set an app to run from iGPU or dGPU. unfortunately until windows and bungie work together to resolve this issue or Intel pushes a driver update, or someone finds a hacky way to go about it. 1803 is unplayable for a lot of games and unfortunately D2 is one of those games. If you can find a download and downgrade yourself to version 1709 which works perfectly fine. d2 works, updates work.

a thing that may work for fortnite is set the windows setting in the advanced display setting to "high performance" for fortnite to force dGPU only for that game see if it helps w/ your framerate.

if you're stuck on 1803 and really want to play really bad go to the setting i suggested above and set the balanced mode(i think its called) to run off your iGPU and you can play D2 just turn all your settings down to medium or low. at least you can play on 1803... but performance is terrible.

Edit: To add a friend of mine who had the same issue was able to get Nvidia driver 388.31 to work for d2... but it wasn't consistent.

well, I re-installed everything from scratch, new ssd, new installation, but this time I'm using Windows 10 build 1709 as suggested above and now everything running like a champ even using latest nvidia driver

Hey all, just received my Aero 15x. It feels and looks really, but there's one drawback - I keep hearing this high pitch noise from it whether it is idle, working, on battery or is plugged. Anyone encountered something similar? The sound is very similar to this in video -

EDIT: it seems the cause was wireless mouse USB plug. The irony is the mouse itself is from Gigabyte and worked well on my other laptop. The sound persist when changing the USB port. I tried a different mouse and there was no sound.
Also it seems the trackpad is no grounded very well, touching the trackpad while plugged in creates not very loud, but still audible electrical sound.

If you had been following my posts, I am having RAM issue. I got GSkill 2x16GB 2400Mhz RAM and they dont work with the aero 15x v8.

Gigabyte said problem with computer and say do a RMA with reseller or them.
Emailed gentechpc and Ken said GSkill 3000, 2800, 2400, and Kingston 2400 HyperX dont work and need a BIOS update.

Other users had these RAM and they dont work:
    2x16Gb DDR4 2666, Corsair vengeance CL18 - fireedo
    8GB DDR4 2666, Crucial Ballistix Sport LT (Run at 2400) - Jaxom
    Patriot DDR4 16GB 2666MHz (Run at 2400) - HID/jrmtz85

Never see a computer with so many RAM incompatibility
Only GSkill 2666, Kingston cbd26d4s9s8me, vcolor tn48g26s819/tn48g26d819 officially.

    Update:
Purchase a single GSkill 2666 MAY cause incompatibility (or just bad memory slot)

    Need more samples

Has anyone found a way to remove the need to hold down the "fn" button to change screen brightness and volume? therefore just ressing the buttons directly?

In the BIOS you can make the Function keys default instead of F1-F12. You get one or the other

I have tried this approach about 6 months ago with no success. Do you know if a BIOS update or some other update has come out since that allows it to work? Thanks for your response!

I found out why my computer is underperforming. My cpu usage is at 100% while gaming and gpu usage is at 70%. I m still looking for the reason to this. Rainbow six usually used only 30% max cpu. The game uses about 90% cpu usage. If you know how to solve this, plz let me know.
