966 euro, end total, shipping included. After comparison with other notebooks, I think it's a good deal. Do you?
Delivery date: 22nd June! I really do hope earlier but that's maybe asking too much! -
, I received mine last week, its awesome. wat color did u order?
-
Do you have the 1080 screen? If so, how is it? -
-
sad smiley because its plain, did not want to spend 70 quid on custom paintjob. I dont like blue, as my girlfriend has it on her Inspiron and its strange that the cover is blue and the rest is black.
-
I'm so sad, the Studio 1555 is like the best notebook in 90% of the aspects I need, only aspect that I'd need more is the GPU
Ack, higher end GPUs come in such non convenient machines though >.< 15.6" was limit perfect for the size and the price and looks and other specs were perfect >_<
Ahhhh lol XD -
4570 is quite a decend gpu. Do you need something more powerful?
-
I know, I've seen quite impressive feats from it on videos, however I think I just might.
The school I go to has like 3 screen display setup with 3 SLI/CrossFire desktop computers for assignments so I kinda fear what I might need as powerMind you, those are the multimedia computers, but still >.>
I've emailed the school and asked and they haven't yet replied so I'm assuming I might need need such horsepower.
I'd probably need a higher end midrange GPU though. Something like a 9600M GT/GT120M or an HD3650/HD4650 just to be comfortable. Still seeing though.
I mean I really really like the Studio 15 >.< -
Ive just completed a game design course, it depends what your doing but its very doubtful you would ever need that much power that are in those school computers.
-
Well I'm going in bionanotech(spelling?) engineering so idk what the heck they need those things for if not simulations or whatnot.
I agree that I don't need that much horsepower since that's what school labs are for, but there's probably a reasonable level of power I'd require for at home assignments(although I have a desktop for that mind you).
Also, I don't have a computer at my mom's so my laptop would serve as my main computer and my brother and I(sine we'd probably be sharing) would like to play some games on it so a bit more GPU juice might be needed. -
on a notebook you cant use 3 screens cos u cant put two cards into sli/crosfire.
-
Pretty sure some Clevos and high end notebooks have SLI/Crossfire GPUs.
Anyways I don't need that much power lol -
yes but they only have one output. to run 3 screens you need either 2 cards on a matrox dual head with 3 or 4 outputs...
correction...I forgot about HDMI...damn -
Bah I don't need more than 1 screen anyways >.> One's more than enough lol
-
well i went to pick up the dell 1555 today and it turned out it had intel gfx instead of ATI so I cancelled.
I then phoned dell and haggled a deal for the 1920 screen and backlit keyboard ati 512mb etc for £490.
Really wasnt impressed with the 1366 screen on the model i cancelled -
I tried haggling but did not get close to your price. Might be because UK is a bit cheaper though. -
yes...it would be nice to see some pics with the other screens
-
Either calling the sale department? -
I also asked about Studio 14. They did not know. -
14 is US (and the rest) except Europe...
-
-
-
the low spec base model has Intel 4500 MHD graphic card
-
ok...guys time for sum quick advice...
hwz this config @44.8K INR (950$ USD) including tax and delivery...Things are a bit costlier here in India, I guess
Windows Vista(R) Home Premium SP1 32 bit (English)
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T6400 (2GHz/ 800 FSB/ 2MB Cache)
4GB (2X2GB) DDR2 SDRAM Memory
Video Card 256MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570
Hard Drive 320GB SATA Hard Drive
Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 (802.11a/g/n) Half Mini-card
Bluetooth Module Dell(TM) Wireless 370 Bluetooth Module
15.6” 720p WLED (1366x768) Display with TrueLife™ and Built-in 2.0MP Web Cam
This is the base config on the dell India website ..Might get it for 900$ if i get lucky -
@ akh1989, the 256MB ATI DDR2 is not a good choice for gaming. Get the DDR3 instead if gaming is important to you.
Have you searched for coupons? Every county usually has them. -
edit...............
-
roughly the same as the UK price would be
-
No coupons for India...BAD Dell ...Am currently interning in Amazon so hoping to get some Corporate/EPP discount ....and then sum bargaining with the customer Executive ...but still it wont cost <850$ ... -
-
But it's not important if you're not into gaming. -
oh....gr8....am getting the upgrade to 512 mb for only 20$ ...I thought there wont be any difference other than memory size....will confirm with the sales exec. and upgrade ...thanx
Another thing...I heard vista buyers will get free upgrade to windows 7 if they buy after July 1 ? ...The sales exec. couldnt confirm it ...any news on this ?? -
Mine has finally shipped after 3weeks of delay. They finally got the 1080P screens. I will post review of the 1080p screen when I get it tomorrow. I have and M170 screen to compare it to.
-
does anyone know what the edge to edge display is thats under color selection?
-
i ordered one on Jun,2 at Dell experience zone , bangalore..
Asked for offers .. They are giving me one Dell Blue tooth Travel Mouse as freebie and also no VAT.. so just speak with sales representative once..
its almost saving of 3500rs .. (70$) -
-
-
-
-
can i ask why ??
i ordered 32bit version vista recently.. any problem ?? -
-
Yours is a SEC5441?
And how do you think is the quality?
I´m asking because
http://www.notebookjournal.de/tests/review-dell-studio-1555-ati-hd-4570-907/3
is testing a model with the same display panel and it seems to compare not very good.
Some users in the german forum www.notebookcheck.com already have their 1555 and they have a AUO Panel, which seems to be much better. -
do you know how many versions of the 1080p display are around? -
@ Phil,
I went through my spec with them and then added discount code and then threatened to leave it if they didnt get what i wanted to under £500, it was only £30 less then i could have got it for on the website but every little helps. Dells UK prices are pretty good.
@ Mike,
I got the base config with ati and then upped ram to 4gb, added backlit keyboard and upgraded screen to 1980.
Specs:
T4200 (their cpu prices are stupid, have a P9500 here to drop in)
4gb ram
250gb 5400 hd
ati 512mb
1920x1080 screen
backlit keyboard
ordinary wireless (have a spare intel 5300 so wasnt paying their studpi prices on these)
no bluetooth.
I think Dell makes their money with their upgrades, you can buy parts cheaper in shops and add them in yourself if you are competent. The PCU look interesting though as i will have to strip the machine right down -
Didn´t find any info about it, sorry.
About the 1080p Panel, I mean.
