Sadly, my Source is having problems getting a perfect HL06 screen. He said the 5 he found have dead pixels. I don't think i can accept it like that. And HL06 is scarce. Tho he said he has about 5 more to test. But I'll start thinking alternatives.
Do u guys have another alternative with High color. 16.7M colors. If not I'll just opt for the LTN156H02-201 with 262K colors.
Even if it's an LG or AUO alternative. And i noticed that the latest gaming laptops use LG and AUO screen. Don't know why. At least the Acer Nitro, ROG, and Lenovo Y700 compared to the i7559 in the Laptopmedia.com review.
Can't remember exactly but i think i saw 2 LG screens and 1 AUO.
NOTE: He also WARNED me that some sellers change the tag of HL02 to HL06 and sell as HL06. So be very careful. If nothing else, I'm glad about his honesty. It's very refreshing

I stand corrected. 1 Samsung, 2 LGs
Lenovo Y700 - LTN156HL09-401 (52% sRGB, isn't that worse than our BOE??!)
Acer Aspire V15 Nitro Black Edition (VN7-592G) - LP156WF6-SPB1 (90% sRGB)
ASUS ROG GL552VW - LP156WF6-SPB5 (91% sRGB)
However i believe all are 262K colors.

Hi everyone. First post.
i got my 7559 last week and have the BOE screen. I only use the laptop for games so am not bothered by colour accuracy, but find the screen shows a lot of ghosting, and is also really dim.
Do you guys have any recommendations for a screen that is much brighter, doesnt have PWM, and also has minimal ghosting?
Laptop has been great otherwise! -
Also just seen this webpage, apparently the BOE is 300 nits, surely not? http://company.boe.com/portal/en/shangyongyufuwu/quanxiliexianshichanpin/3/pesq3.html

All the panel sellers on ebay (and elsewhere) appear to be equally useless; at best they will tell you they have compatible model X in stock (which is usually different to the model advertised on their listing). At worst they won't even say which compatible model they have in stock. It says in their small print they will ship a compatible model, but in my opinion it is false advertising and they don't have a leg to stand on if you tell them up front you want the exact model listed and they then go and ship you a different model.
For example, a couple of sellers are advertising the LG Philips LP156WF6 SPB1 SP B1 panel but when you contact them they have only the LP156WF4-SPL1 in stock. It may be "compatible" but it is not the same quality; it has a slower response time, a narrower colour gamut, and lower brightness. Just because, to quote one seller; "It's accepted industry practice" doesn't make it acceptable to me.
I'm getting frustrated with trying to buy a replacement panel for my 7559 here in the UK. -
Also, when you install these new panels is there any driver stuff to do, or is it literally unplug the old, plug in the new and off you go? -
I don't think there's anything to do except install the panel and restart. Definitely no new drivers to install. -
Have a look here for what i consider the best four panels for the 7559 compared:
http://www.panelook.com/modelcompare.php?ids=24666,24407,24180,19049
Of these, most people consider the Samsung LTN156H06-C1 to be the "best" panel (it is the only 8-bit panel). But it seems the hardest to get hold of at the moment. -

New here but been following since I ordered my 7559 on 7th January here in the UK. Opted for the i7 model with the FHD screen and 1TB hard drive with the intention of adding a 500GB m.2 evo 850 and a further 8GB of HyperX ram.
I received the laptop on Monday and installed both the SSD and RAM on Tuesday. I used the Samsung migration tool to clone the HDD to the SSD, so I could boot from the SSD.
This is where the problems began.. The Samsung migration tool seems to clone the signature on the HDD and the laptop wouldn't shut down properly. After resetting the BIOS to default, the OS boots from the SSD but it has made the HDD offline.
Also, I have an error appearing when starting the laptop that says "Windows could not connect to the Group Policy Client service. This problem prevents standard users from logging on to the system."
Windows store seems to be very sluggish and task manager sometimes doesn't open, as well as chrome failing to open. Also, I noticed on Speccy that it says the last boot time was the evening I installed the SSD and cloned, yet the laptop has been shut down and restarted multiple times since.
I think what I want to do now is format the SSD and do a fresh install onto it.
My main question is, can the above error be fixed? If not, what is the best way to format the SSD and do a clean install. I also want to use the HDD for storage, but leave the operating system on this in case of failure in the future.
I have downloaded the dell restore iso!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Ps. I got the BOE and I am looking to change to a Samsung HL02, is the brightness and colours that much better?Stanley08 likes this. -
BOE = 220 nits (i think), HL02 = 300nits
Colours
BOE = 55% sRGB, HL02 = Should be around 97 to 100% if HL01 is to go by
================================================================
Well, i just ordered the LTN156HL02 today. I actually wanted to get the world famous LTN156H01-102 which has an sRGB of about 100% but i opted for a different one. Because Asus apparently stopped using this display for a reason blah blah. Regardless my seller promised me that the HL02 is better than the HL01-102. HL01 has contrast of 1:1200 (forget panelook, it's a crap site). However HL02 is supposed to have even better contrast and it's the refreshed version of HL01-102. By the way DO NOT BUT LTN156H01-101 FOR ANY REASON. -101 is crap. -102 is the real deal. If at all you opt for HL01.
Long story short, I've ordered my HL02 and it's now on it's way to Guangzhou. Where a Nigerian shipping company will ship it to me. In less than 48hrs. I guess I'll be looking at Monday as no one works on Sunday here. Well, almost no one.
Seller Evidence:
He also sent me a video tooShowing me the dead pixel test. None btw. Though the video was not the greatest quality, i didn't see any bleed on the screen and i hope it's so.

Also, I have noticed that in your photo, the sticker on the right hand side (a bit blurred) says

i got LG panel. is there any way to increase brightness of this screen.? colors seems okey..but brightness seems an issue.
can i use calibration file of BOE screen which posted somewhere in this forum.? -
You can try and up the GAMMA in the Intel properties under color management. I would go to Blue, up it to 1.2gamma. See how that looks.
Luckily I have my new LG LP156WF6-SPB1 and not only is it much much brighter, the colors are far superior and the response rate is great. FPS gaming no longer blurs or feels "slow" due to the slow response rate of the pixels. IMO the LG display is the best you can get. The Samsung with 25ms response time might also be very good, but I haven't had the chance to test it yet. 30ms is sluggish/more blurry in fast paced games, and 35ms is simply unacceptable. I've tried all 3 response rates, and I can tell you the difference between 35ms and 25ms is day and night difference. -
A quick question regarding ram... if I throw in another 8GB will it run in dual channel mode?
Also how is this ram? Would I run into trouble from having mis-matched ram brands?

I guess
25ms is -> Gaming screen
30ms is -> Professional/Regular screen.
35ms is -> Low End screen.
<35ms is -> FULL RETARD MODE. xD

Also for anyone interested, I just installed an Intel 8260 WiFi and Bluetooth network card into my 7559 and it worked flawlessly. Plug and Play after swapping out modules. Did a speedtest of before and after the and results were great. The 8260 should give me more range in hotel rooms, and that was my main reason for the upgrade.Stanley08 likes this. -
Too these screenshots from the Y50 screen replacement thread and it would appear from this user's experience that the HL02 is preferred to the LP156WF6-SPB1, The AUO B156HAN01.2 and maybe even the HL01.
However, seems the Samsung displays are a great choice. Anyways, i hope i get my HL02 tomorrow (Saturday). If not, that will mean till Monday.

Here is a video of my seller testing out the HL02 screen for me before shipping and proof that it is actually HL02.
It's not the best video, not like it was shot with a Red camerarecorded on his mobile phone, I'm sure already scaled down by WhatsApp and maybe scaled down again when i upload here. But anyways screen looks good. Can't see any bleed (i hope there's no bleed - i hate bleed). Anyways, yh.
@Talon i heard the LP156WF6-SPB1 has some bleed. Does urs have bleed?
Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk -
@Stanley08
Absolutely zero bleed at all. There isn't a single spot of any bleed coming through. I think there is a reason this display is rated #1 15.6" display according to notebook check January 2016. In all honestly these displays were talking about are all more or less about equal and its comes to personal preference. In my opinion just make sure you get a 25ms screen if fast paced gaming is a concern. Samsung, LG, AUO should all be more or less about equal if they share same brightness rating, response times, and similar color ratings. Some professional workers may notice, but for an average user or person using it for gaming I just don't. I noticed the response times though because I play fast paced games on this laptop, and 30ms and above was just too slow. Ideally I would be able to get something even faster than 25ms, but will have to wait until something is released.

Another reason I wanted this screen is because I'm fairly certain this is one of the few screens that is G-Sync certified. If I decide to make the jump to a Clevo when they release their updated/Pascal systems next year or late this year I may upgrade and will take the screen with me.

Anyways, on that list, first 15.6" is LP156WF6. There is also SPA1, SPD1 and SPF1 in that same family even tho only SPA1 fits the profile.
LP156WF6-SPB1 is in 7th i think, but then again there is another LP156WF6 in 8th.
The same way we have the Samsung 156HL01-102 there and have Samsung 156HL01 (which i believe is -101, because why not just call it -102?)
And both of them are all over the place also.
So i guess the list is really about the laptops than the display. I mean, how the displace works well with the laptop, if not one display will not be repeated more than once. -
Well after the lately posts ... I decided to keep the WF6 I will not probably see any change if i buy a samsung as someone stated before. For now my PC is complete and I'm happ with it, it was a good investment an excellent one hahaha. what I really wouldd like for this laptop is a hard case, I want to keep it nice as much as i can, but there are not hard cases for this one
I found this option but they dont have the model and probably wont because they only do cases if the model is popular :/ http://ipearl-inc.com/ well I requested the model lets see what happens ...

@Stanley08
I've been through 4 screens in this laptop so far, and of the 4 the LP156WF 6 SPB1 has been the best all around. It has good brightness, good colors, fastest response times, and it has no backlight bleeding that I can see.
The screens you listed above are all in the same family. The SPA1 is the SPB1 with a glare finish instead of matte. According to panel look the others all have the same specs as well.
The i7559 I have now came with LP156WF6 SPM1 (the elusive LG display) from Amazon and it was by far the worst panel I've had in terms of brightness. The colors seemed decent, and the response times were fair, but my god you couldn't see anything on dark areas in games. It also had a very small amount of bleed.
I've had the BOE display as well on 2 other i7559 laptops (I know, I tried out a few until I got the one I like the most) and like you said the colors weren't that great, the brightness was brighter than the SPM1 but still less than what I wanted, and the response times are fair. If the brightness had been a tad better I would have been fine with the BOE since I care less about the colors than I do about brightness and response times. This also had a small amount of bleeding.
I've also had the LP156WF 4 SPB1 and it was the brightest, colors seemed good, but the response times were horrid. I was confused at first when I installed it until I looked at the pictures of the exact model number I had taken before installation. I looked it up and saw I had gotten the wrong screen and the higher response time was definitely to blame.
Having said all of that, in my opinion if you are using the laptop for gaming and play first person shooters specifically get the LP156WF6 SPB1 because it offers good brightness, good colors and the best response times you can get. If you are doing professional work I would look at the Samsung that you purchased as it has better colors. It all just comes down to personal needs and cost. I think the WF6 SPB1 is somewhat difficult to find and probably a tad more expensive.Last edited: Jan 23, 2016Stanley08 likes this. -
I had 3 options. LG LP156WF6-SPB1, AUO B156HAN01.2, and Samsung LTN156H02-301.
The WF6-SPB1 (83 to 86% sRGB) has good brightness compared to the AUO. The AUO (91 to 95% sRGB) has better contrast and more accurate colors compared to the WF6-SPB1.
The LTN156HL01-102 (97 to 100% sRGB) has both better colors and contrast than both of them. Also similar or better brightness.
And if the LTN156HL02-301 is better than the LTN156HL01-102 as many screen sellers have claimed, then i can't wait to see what it looks like

Instead, I found this:
https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/screen-part-number/LP156WF6(SP)(B1)/
They say they have 10+ of the LG Philips LP156WF6-SPB1 panel shipping from the UK (Gatwick). They were out of stock of this panel two days ago.
I've ordered one using Paypal, with a note on the order saying I will only accept that exact model of panel. So we will see, I have no experience of this seller. -
Sorry, that URL doesn't seem to work on their site. If you search for LP156WF6 on laptopscreen.com you will find it listed. -

This is the exact seller that I bought from. It is listed as used, and aside from a finger print or 2 the screen is absolutely perfect. Zero dead pixels, no bleed, no scratches and was 100% the legit screen. The price is fair as new ones are $100ish usually. Good luck. -

Same over here! No shipping to the Netherlands...

How much glare do you reckon the LG LP156WF6 SP A1 will have? Will the quality of the screen and brightness be just as good as the glare version, if not slightly brighter? -

Got this laptop about a week ago. Loving it so far. Just one issue... I do not like the keyboard.
Are there any compatible keyboard replacements available that are better than the stock one?
