Apply the calibration in this review:

    http://www.gaminglaptopsjunky.com/dell-inspiron-15-7559-review/

It fixed the issue for me.

Junky did a good review on both:

    http://www.gaminglaptopsjunky.com/dell-inspiron-15-7559-review/

    http://www.gaminglaptopsjunky.com/acer-aspire-vn7-592g-review-v-15-nitro-black-edition/

If you are doing video and photo editing then I would not recommend the Dell 7559 unless you can secure an aftermarket LCD panel with good color reproduction (LG or Samsung) and calibrate them. It's not hard to install on your own either. Open the bottom and unplug battery cable then pull off the the front plastic bezel (held by clips not screws/glue) and remove 4 screws and change the screen. If you're willing to take a risk you can find some genuine HL06 screens with 8 bit color from AliExpress, but if you get a bad screen it might be hassle to send back. Although some people don't like 8 bit color due to over saturation of colors.

There are some other compatible listed models below.

Even though it says that, it still applies to nvidia as well. You can open up a game and put it in windowed full screen then alt tab and click "apply my settings to this device" (or w/e) see the difference in the background with it on and off. Then keep it on and tab over and it still stays on. Even when you switch to fullscreen it seems to be still applying (although I generally play all my games on windowed fullscreen so fullscreen doesn't matter to me.)

Hi, guys so I got my laptop today but I have ome issues. Firstly is WiFi which seems weak (it says limited when I'm next to the router and sometimes doesn't connect). I know there are drivers but there's 4 different ones and I don't know if they've already been preinstalled already.

Also, when I start up games it says "this application could no be started" with error 0xc000007b" (something like that). I REALLY NEED HELP WITH THIS! I tried everything (.Net/ installing .dll files...im trying to run a 32bit games - the installation folder is in the x86 program folder).

I was thinking of just factory restoring the laptop.

Dell technician came today and installed my Samsung screen and replaced the palm rest + power button. The laptop is working great now. Don't need to press the power button like 3-5 times to get it to turn on.

And when you received the first notification, your delivery date was later than one week, or it just was delivered in time?

It said ETA was the 22nd and they sure were right, so I guess its accurate.

No worries man, this is my first gaming laptop that I'm using for uni/gaming. The wait was excruciating!

I have the 16gb ram 128gb ssd 4k version of this laptop and have a couple issues.

After gaming for around an hour (Fifa 16 and dirt rally mainly) games often freeze or begin to do so before I manage to exit before they do so. The speakers make a load churning sound and the laptop disconnects from the network cable. The games run smoothly at 60fps up to when this happens.

Has anybody been encountering similar issues or have any suggestions?

They wont replace it for the palm rest being worn out. They replaced it because my power button was screwed up and I had to press it like 3-5 times to get it to turn on, and I got the laptop just recently. They probably wouldn't replace it in the future because of "wear and tear".

To answer your question, I chated with Dell online and told them my power button was being screwed up and that I had bought and compatible LCD screen that I wanted to be installed.

Did you actually get the LG screen? They told me they'd send the LG screen, then sent me another BOE, then I told them they sent me another BOE and they put in another service request with explicitly saying LG screen (with part #) and no replace and I still got BOE screen. I told the tech to send it back and try again and they got BOE screen again. I just said **** it and bought my own screen.

BTW If you have BOE screen use the calibration from here: www.gaminglaptopsjunky.com/dell-inspiron-15-7559-review/

It fixed the yellowness for me.

I just got this laptop and I'm getting a good bit of slowdown in the graphics when switching to battery power. I tried to change a few power settings but no luck. I'm not sure if it switches to integrated graphics on battery or if the gtx960m is just slowing down.

Is there a way to avoid throttling when on battery power or to disable integrated graphics completely?

Try the color calibration in the review that I posted a link to in last post. It fixed my BOE screen yellow issue. It should work for LG too if it's the same issue. At worst it makes it too blue and you can just disable it.

The only other option would be to:

    a) find the model (the above doesn't work, you need to see the pin # then try to find what screen it is) and look for color calibration file for that screen (which still might not be 100% accurate because of variance in production/environment the laptop is in)

    b) run the windows color calibrator and try to eyeball it to the the best of your ability

    c) buy a color calibrator tool.

Not sure if you have GeForce Experience, but it has an option called "Battery saver" which limits fps to 30 by default. You could configure it to limit it to 60 fps or disable that option completely.

    Hi guys,

I realize that GTX960m's core clock is stuck at 540mhz.

I updated the graphic drivers and changed the power settings to maintain max performance but still the same.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Thanks!

I tried doing just that but it had no effect. After checking my fps I realized that it goes from 60fps on AC power to 30fps on battery. So I do believe this issue is related to nvidia battery saver, but I don't know how to get around it.

Thank you, I got the LG panel... which I believe is lot better than the BOE model.... still whites are not as good as I would love them & the brightness is somewhat less but considering I got the 4k touchscreen version with 16GB i7 processor for $999 I can't complain much about the screen ... but would have definitely loved to get good color panel even if it costed couple of 100's more for them to do so...

Do you know if this laptop has PWM ?

I just purchased the dell I-7 version a month ago on Black Friday. Upgraded to a MX200 500gb SSD and another 8gb Gskill ripjaws memory. Anyone having an issue with the computer freezing after closing the lid? The screen garbles up with vertical lines. Only way I can fix it is to take out the second memory out and resetting the computer. Pic is below of the problem.

Are you sure it has the same clock frequencies and latency values as the other one? You can look this up using a program like HWiNFO64.

The 8gb 1600mhz hynix is 11 11 11 and 8gb 1600 mhz gskill is 9 9 9. I was able to replicate the issue by putting the laptop in sleep mode. By turning off sleep mode in the power settings when closing lid, I got around the issue. Does anyone know if it is a hardware issue or software driver issue?

Have you tried running Windows Memory Diagnostic tool? If not, run it and see if it brings up any errors. Also, are you running the latest BIOS version? BIOS updates sometimes enhance the overall system stability.

i am new to this forum and i just bought this laptop from newegg.

i thought this is a great laptop..but, forgive me, why everybody is sooo concerned about screen..really screen is that horrible? on 15 inch screen these minute things really matter?

i read some of the posts, users were just returning to try out their luck in getting LG panel instead of other "common" panel..i feel it is weird.

should i be worried about screen..in laptop, screen is my last preference, all i want is stable graphic card.

It all depends on your point of view. Some people have (had) very good screens on their previous laptop or their current monitor and they want their laptop screen to be as good as their reference. In my opinion, there's no point in returning it. Can't speak from experience though as I don't have mine yet.

Has anyone else's battery life been a bit unpredictable?

For example, on battery and low brightness the battery icon said I would get about 5 hours (which I did) but today with the same brightness and settings, I get a prediction of 2 hours and battery is draining fast?

I'm not even gaming on it so the results should be the same as my other session...anyone had a similar experience?

Hi guys! As I told you few days ago, I'm waiting the delivery of the laptop the next monday. I bought a Kingston M.2 SSD and when I receive the inspiron I have to install it. How I have to do it? I have never done something like this before. I mean, install Windows in the SSD, change the disks, etc.

If someone could give me some advices or some steps to follow, It would be fantastic!
