Yes that's true this was the one i was originally gonna get but i didn't see any confirmed report that it works and it's the only one that's 8bit so it's somewhat different than the others and also more expensive. But if the HL02 works i guess there's no reason 06 wont work.

Why is that the best panel? The HL06 is the best specs wise at 8 bit and not much slower than the fastest one at 30 Tr Td vs 25, but aside from that I don't see why that Samsung ones are better than the LG ones.

Here is a comparison of all the compatible models according to panelook (to the BOE) which are 300<= NIT.

    http://www.panelook.com/modelcompar...271,20274,21865,23295,20611,17533,19049,19048

https://archive.is/R7DZ6 (Incase link every goes down)

I really want the C01, but it's sold out in Canada and shipping is like $40 USD from Seattle so I'm likely going to just get the LG since it's known to work and has the same specs as the Samsung H02 but with faster response rate.

Yes the HL06 should be better but IMO it's not worth the much higher price(and it's mostly shipped from china too). The reason Samsung is better than LG is because it's panel is PLS which is a higher IPS type made by samsung , compared to the LG which AH-IPS , mostly a cheaper quality type of IPS made to replace TN panels . And most importantly here is a quote from a member here at the Y50 panel thread who tried the LG LP156WF6 and the samsung HL02 :

"Well I'm extremely happy with this panel. Better black levels, viewing angles and coulour gamet overall compared to the LP156WF6. The response time looks to be the same, I haven't noticed it increase which means its still around that 16ms (Tr + Td). Which is great for most gamers save those hardcore competitive CS guys. You certainly won't get better response times without going to a TN panel. I'd say the Samsung HL01 or HL02 are still the best all around IPS/PLS panels for a notebook."

Unless that member has some statistics and scientific test between the two I would take their opinion with a grain of salt. AH-IPS and PLS are pretty much about the same quality. PLS might be a tiny bit better, but the higher end AH-IPS are pretty much equal. IDK. If they cost about the same I guess it's worth the same I probably wouldn't pay a premium to get the Samsung unless it's the HL06, but even then it's only worth it if you're in US where you can buy it from LaptopScreens for only like $20-$30 more.

Edit: HL02 is sold out in Canada/UK as well from Laptopscreens. Samsung panels seem really hard to find unless you want to take a gamble getting it from AliExpress/Ebay where if you get a bad panel you're going to get hit hard shipping it back (especially from Canada).

Edit: HL01 is sold out too.

Even here in the US i wouldn't order from Laptopscreens because they send you a "compatible" model so it could be any panel even our lovely BOE here , in fact i can't find the HL06 anywhere even on ebay all the listings is also for screens that "fit" or "compatible", Only place is AliExpress which is out of the question. If you want the HL02 how about this one on ebay? , i know it says used but at least you know that it's an original panel pulled from a good dell laptop(with the dell part number on the back) and it's only 37$ , it's the one i got btw.

No because the seller shipped it late Friday so it should probably arrive on Monday(very small chance for Saturday), because i'm in NJ most stuff from NY arrive in 1-2 days.

Anyone else here with a lot of driver trouble? The Intel HD Graphics keeps on crashing on multiple occasions:
*Going from GTX back to Intel HD
    *Scrolling through a PDF document
    *Watching a YouTube video
    *Just browsing with Firefox

Most of the errors I receive are "The Intel HD display driver has stopped working and has recovered" and "Firefox cannot use the Intel HD display driver anymore". And not just that little error in the bottom right corner..it also screws up Firefox (needs a restart after an error occurs).

    Tried allready:
    *Dell website -> updates 7559 -> GTX960 drivers
*Dell website -> updates 7559 -> Intel HD drivers
*Dell website -> updates 7559 -> Bios update
    *Deinstall all current Intel drivers
*Use a driver from the Intel website (not allowed, it should be from Dell)
*Enlarge the timeout of the Intel card in register (as found on Intel support)

Getting real tired of this crap..and I don't even know if Dell or Intel should be adressed for a support call.

Hi guys I have some questions to ask about SSHD.

I bought 2 Inspiron 7559 model but those have HDD from different company. One is Toshiba and the other one Seagate.

I run Chrystal Disk Mark to check the read/write speed and it showed me the interesting result.

The first chart is Toshiba MQ02ABD100H, it has higher 4K speed both read and write.
The second chart is Seagate ST1000ML014, and it has higher Seq value on both read and write.

My question is which HDD is better for gaming/multimedia work? From what I know, 4K speed is related to the speed when transferring small size files, and Seq speed is related to large files.

    Thanks

For gaming i would say Seq , but between those two i doubt you will notice any difference , since both drives are SSHD the performance of the 8GB SSD is much more important . i would test this by loading a game three times on both machines and compare the results.

The bios update (to the latest one from the Dell 7559 driver page) fixed the intel display driver crashes for me also.

There doesn't seem to be a (free) way to clone to a smaller drive with all the partitions & recovery functionality intact.

I shrank C drive & was left with a big free space with partitions on either side of it. Even then, Minitool partition wizard won't copy them. So i copied over the first two partitions, & then the last two to the Transcend 512 GB M.2 Sata 3 SSD. However, it broke the recovery.

The Dell method to create recovery USB is discontinued in favor of Windows 10 native recovery method. Dell's old method isn't even designed to work in Windows 10. Windows 10 native method doesn't work either, not even from the hard rive, which I've kept intact, although factory restore from recovery still works on the hard drive. Recovery image download isn't available from Dell website for Inspiron 7559. Man, are we lucky? ;)

There's a way to create the recovery again from scratch using the Windows 10 Enterprise ISO image. But I haven't got around to do it yet. There's only so much time around...

Is there a way to get the original link for the download?

The downloads from uploaded.net are pretty slow. Downloading 9 files would take 2 days.

No idea how you could install this driver. I keep getting a "This driver is not supported by the manufacturer of your system, please download the drives from their website. Installation could not be completed" error. And if I try that same update in compatibility mode it's a nice "Operating System not supported".

I allready did the update to 1.1.3 - This was succesful and the Bios now shows "version 1.1.3". Did not resolve the errors.

Futhermore..it's mostly an "This application (Firefox) has been blocked from accessing the graphics card" error. The laptop switches to the GTX right after that. Bit of an overkill...using the GTX for Firefox.

I started getting those Intel crashes in Firefox just a couple of days ago after a Windows update. Don't know if it changed something or what. But I stopped it by just disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox (Options -> Advanced -> General).

hey guys I have some question about my SSHD odd benchmark result. It is really odd because it is EXCEPTIONALLY FASTER than same tier SSHD, and I don't know why.

    Here is the result:

    * MB/s = 1,000,000 byte/s [SATA/300 = 300,000,000 byte/s]

    Sequential Read : 171.898 MB/s
    Sequential Write : 48.402 MB/s
    Random Read 512KB : 149.797 MB/s
    Random Write 512KB : 41.656 MB/s
    Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 6.166 MB/s [ 1505.4 IOPS]
    Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 13.980 MB/s [ 3413.2 IOPS]
    Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 32.433 MB/s [ 7918.2 IOPS]
    Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 13.740 MB/s [ 3354.5 IOPS]

    Test : 1000 MB [C: 5.5% (50.2/917.2 GB)] (x5)

As you can see Seq and 512K read speed is oddly too high, and write speed is 1/3 of read speed.

What is more ridiculous is 4K speed is way too high compared to not only other SSHD model, but also to the exact same model.

I used HD Tune Pro to monitor the speed when it is on testing, and the value was the same.

I ran the benchmark several times and results were similar.

However, I really don't understand how come it is possible and also worried if my hard drive is wrong.

If anyone can explain this, please let me know!

    Pro's and Cons:

+ $100 for the upgrade is pretty cheap. It's almost double that price to upgrade it in my country.
+ a bit better screen compared to the BOE.
    + touch and 4K!.

    - touch is a gimmick (my opinion) and will get fingerprints on the screen.
    - this computer lacks the graphic performance to fully use the 4K resolution.
    - the full HD model already has 125% as default Windows scaling..the 4K model will need much more scaling. Not every programm can addapt to that.
    - the screen is high gloss instead of matte, so will catch more reflections.

Aside from the point of additional costs - I would pick a matte screen anytime over a glossy one.

The SHDD is just a slow 5400rpm drive, so no it can't be fast at all. There is a small part SSD on there, that should be able to learn the most common accessed files and speed those up. So it could be that it learned the read/write files for this test in it's SSD memory..

I ignored the two 32bit downloads. The two for 64bit are EXE and ZIP. Both the same files, but sometimes an EXE download is blocked (executable, dangerous, etc...) so thats when you use a ZIP download.

Okay, then is there any way I can erase what is stored in SSD part of the hard disk for accurate test result? I have another unit (same model) but it does not reflect the improved speed although I run the same test as many time as first unit.

Ok done , very easy to replace . The screen had a few fingerprints on it but other than that it's new. Here's the first impression :

*The brightness is so much better that it's now as bright as my Ezio desktop monitor.
*Black level seems to be better but not by much .
*Colors literally EXPLODED it's day and night compared to the BOE
Here's some before and after pictures , of course it not like seeing it in person but it should give a rough idea.

I ordered one. Does your have any backlight bleeding or dead pixels?

BTW Does anyone else have a problem with non-responsive power button? I have to press it like two-three times to power on.

It can be improved a lot with calibration. Mine is much better than it was when I received it. Having said that it still is an average panel at best.

I'd go for the 256gb over the 128gb personally but yes it would work. I paid $140 for a 500gb and it runs like a champ.

Memory should be fine you need the 1.35v low voltage type. Personally i went with Crucial but apples to oranges.

    Hi guys ! I'm new here !

I just received the laptop today, feel good ! However there is some little things that "grind my gears"

The white balance of the screen is pretty poor in my opinion, my destok PC has good white balance, my phone too, and here it feel too much "yellow".

Someone here could give me some advice to improve that ?

And is it normal to have a "dead zone" in the touchpad, sometimes it's hard to aim for a little thing :/

    Thank you.

Anyone that swapped the panel can you say whether there were any screws holding the front bezel on or do you just pry and pop it off?

No screws holding the front bezel on. You simply pry (I started at the top as shown in the service manual) and pop it off slowly.

Afterwards you just remove the 4 screws, remove the cable from the back (lift the lock first!) remove the screen, replace, attach cable, screw it back into place, replace bezel, profit.

Guys I apologize for my previous question regarding partition I was unaware about the partition table. Always make sure that the nvidia driver is installed with fresh values to avoid graphical problems. I had the same error about gpu access failure during testing but a fresh install of 960m driver from the geforce site solved it.

Before you do that you should disconnect the battery. Simply remove the 1 screw at the bottom of the laptop and pull out the battery cable. Then proceed with care with the screen replacement because the plastic clips can break. Also don't force any wires when replacing the screen.
