This happened to me the second day I got the laptop, but hasn't happened since I flashed the bios.
Or I may have downloaded a new intel display driver. One of those.

The display driver stopped issue only happens when i use Microsoft Edge browser which i find a clunking mess on this laptop so i stick to my usual Chrome which is buttery.

Does anyone know which drivers I would use for the mouse-pad on windows 7? This is where I've been looking http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/KEYBOARD-and-MOUSE/Elantech/ and it doesn't have any. The issue I've noticed is that even the slightest touch on the mouse pad registers as a click or movement, and I can rub the my whole palm over it and it move the mouse; unlike windows 10, where it doesn't register any movement.

I tried every driver i could find and i mean everyone and nothing worked for the touchpad under Windows 7.
The most i could do is get the touchpad disabled but no features like palm rejection etc would work even after enabling them in the touchpad properties. -

For all who are having wifi issues..check dis video at 7.15
-
First, the wifi issues aren't mentioned until the very end of the video.
Second, updating the WiFi drivers (or firmware or both) could have been summarized in the post so you don't need to sit through an 8 minute review to get to the wifi portion of the video.Last edited: Dec 4, 2015 -
For what it's worth, I've had the machine for over a week now and I have had NO wifi issues or problems with the graphics driver crashing. I did apply all Windows updates and update the drivers as soon as I took it out of the box. Also I use Firefox for a browser (not Edge).

but off course, either you need a Windows 10 key or upgrade from windows 7 / 8 / 8.1 -
Above 3k its 5% -

On the computer that has the 128 SSD and 1TB HD, which drive is the operating system loaded on?
Also what type of SSD will fit where the standard 1TB drive is located? -
Interesting enough most ppl here don't seem to have the initial problems I had with the wifi. I found a bunch of posts elsewhere before just updating the drivers (which fixed everything). I eventually replaced the card with a 2x2 card before selling the system and moving to an AW 15 over the holiday weekend. Hope you enjoy your system. -

I've had the 7559 128gb ssd model for 3 days now and everything is as expected but when going to can I run it it says for most games like (black ops 3, fallout 4, and batman arkham knight, etc) it says I can't run it because min. req. is i5 and gtx 660 2gb. My 7559 has better specs at least from what i can see so why is it saying i can't run it? Thanks!

I use also the Samsung 850 evo 500gb m.2 ssd and the 1tb Samsung 850 pro instead of the normal
128 gb m.2 ssd and the 1tb hdd. -
Does any one have a custom ICC color profile for the 4k UHD display model?
I have the 4k model but the colors are too warm, too saturated. The blues, too purple.
I tried my hand at manually adjusting some settings, however, unable to improve things much.
Thanks,

I'd like to order the 999$ version but I'm a bit worried about the display quality. I will basically use the laptop for 3d modeling, renders, photoshop, photography and so on, which means that the display is definitely relevant. Is the 4K display better? And isn't it too much for a 15"?
I am also considering the new Asus N552 but seems that won't te available before January. -

Is the keyboard flex really that bad in this model?
-
My keyboard really has no flex at all.

My laptop had some serious lag in most animations, scrolling, changing program, task view ext. It it just me or is there a fix?

I also was getting some audio skipping but I found that went away when I closed a certain program I had running. -

So, I've got a weird situation on my hands. Back on 14 Oct I ordered the high end 7559 with the UHD 4K touch screen, M2SSD, I7, etc. Delay after delay and crappy customer service, finally get an email 17 November that laptop will not be available until 28 December and unless I contact Dell, the order will be cancelled. Well, I'd been trying to contact Dell for over a month with little success, so Eff them, go ahead and cancel the order.
Same day, got on line and ordered non-touch FHD screen I7 machine with 8 gigs ram and figured I'd do the upgrades everyone else would do anyway. Machine would be available in a week or so. Great.
Went back East to visit my daughter and new Grandson. Get alert from Dell and FedEx that a delivery was inbound and it was the most recent order and five days earlier than expected.
Then, a week later, another alert from Dell and FedEx and the order number looked suspiciously familiar. Yep. It was the original order that was supposed to have been cancelled.
So now I have two machines. And they both have the brilliant LG screens! I suppose I can send one back to Dell, or I could sell it to some poor desperate soul that got stuck with a BOE or lesser quality screen.
Thoughts? -
1.screen flicker issue.
2.brightness
3.sharpness and overall look n feel.
4. Also how do the whites compare and how to d blacks compare.
5. Battery life. -
Anyone else having the camera app crash right after opening? It's the stock Windows 10 camera app and if so how did you fix it.
Thanks! -
I just got this laptop (the UHD version) and I have to hand it to Dell, overall I am impressed.
The UHD screen is a really high quality LG IPS panel (at least to my naked eye) and the colors are awesome on this this. The pixel density is insane (maximum zoom on Adobe Reader DC yields super-clear text). I have no/minimal back light bleed and I ordered the gray version, which looks awesome without the red Dell logo or red accents around the trackpad. The touch functionality is really responsive and hugely benefits from having more reference points (pixels).
I also like the solid feel of the rubberized plastic, although it is a (gradual) fingerprint magnet. The keyboard is 'soft' tactile-wise and the back lit keyboard is great with two brightness options. The trackpad is worse than my last laptop, which is disappointing for a 2015 product but I'll (try to) adjust.
I immediately replaced the 1 TB SSHD with a 240 GB SanDisk Extreme Pro (and did a clean install of Windows 10 Pro) and the system is extremely snappy with the i7 6700HQ. I did have to configure some programs to bypass the integrated graphics for a smoother experience. I also had to manually download all of my Intel and Nvidia drivers as many of the drivers on Dell's download page are outdated (this is probably why I haven't had any wifi issues). I plan on adding another Hynix 8 GB stick of DDR3L ram at a later date (just removing one screw to upgrade/replace some parts is a huge plus).
I came from a lacking ~3 year old Acer with a A10-4600 so believe me when I say this laptop is a huge leap on all fronts over my last one.Last edited: Dec 8, 2015 -

I got the 4K version.
Out of the box, the laptop had so many issues on the system freezing for a couple of seconds, blue screens etc. that I even sent in a complaint to the retailer asking them to consider it as a DOA case.
However, after updating the drivers, it seems rock solid now.
Still getting used t the high resolution screen, not all apps can handle the 250% scaling, so some look very tiny.
Tried the QuickGamma app to work around the very warm screen tone. Still a work in progrees.
Added a 512 GB Transcend M800 M.2 Sata & cloned the hard drive to it. Removed the SSHD for safekeeping since the recover ability is broken from the SSD after cloning to a smaller drive. Maybe I'll try to rectify it in the future.
Added a spare 4GB DDR3L RAM slot, taking the total to 12. However, it still seems to work in dual-channel mode, maybe only the first 8GB, & not for the last 4GB, but haven't been using that much RAM so can't confirm.
Coming from a 13" Lenovo U310 Touch, it looks like a big jump, in more ways than one.

Hello, first time posting here, sorry if this is off topic, but I am stuck and would appreciate some feedback if possible. I am trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate on a i7559-763BLK. As mentioned earlier in this thread, the only way to install Win7 is by USB. This laptop only has usb 3.0 slots, and windows 7 installation does not have native usb 3.0 drivers.
Options I have tried:
Disabling usb 3.0 functionality (Enabling USB Debug in BIOS)
Using 2.0 and 3.0 USB sticks (I don't think this matters, as the issues is with the USB 3.0 port, not the stick I'm using)
Injecting Intel eXtensible USB 3.0 drivers into the BOOT and INSTALL WIM files manually (Followed the guide here: http://codeabitwiser.com/2014/03/how-to-install-windows-7-with-only-usb-3-0-ports/)
Injected intel USB 3.0 drivers automatically with this tool ( https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25476/Windows-7-USB-3-0-Creator-Utility)
Tried to install Windows 7 by starting the installation from Windows 10 desktop (I get an installation error, no details)
I even found the USB .INF drivers that Windows 10 is using on this machine and injected those...didn't work either
Nothing works. I can get Windows 7 installation to boot everytime, but I keep getting the "Need CD/DVD drivers to continue installation error). In Windows 10 device manager, its showing my USB devices to use the "Intel eXtensible USB 3.0 driver", so I'm pretty sure that is the correct driver to be injecting.
If I can't get the Windows 7 installation to work, I think my only other option would be to pull the m.2 SSD, put it in my desktop, install win7 there, and then put it back into the laptop. I've done this before, and it works fine. I would have done it already, but I'd need to get an m.2 to pci-e adapter.
If anyone had any other ideas or suggestions on how to get the USB 3.0 ports to work for a windows 7 install, I'm all ears.
Thank youLast edited: Dec 8, 2015 -
I am considering finally to get the asus gl752vw
http://www.excaliberpc.com/636913/asus-gl752vw-dh71-17.3-full-hd.html
same proccesor, same graphic card but 2GB dedicated ram (I've been reading it's a fact that the gtx960m can't get fully use of that 4gb dell offers), 17 inch screen and metallic materials for just the same price. Also has this M.2 bay. -
It is now possible to download the hosted system image in product support.
Best regards
