Dell - Order Experience India

Step 1 : At Blue Dart Tracking function (in red box), click on Ref No radio button.
Step 2: Type in prefix 78 in front of the blank field and follow with your Order Number and click on Go.

 

for me its not working too

 

Finally I was able to see my order status on Dell site.

 

Can you update the status? since i've ordered on 25th Jan and no +ve movement in status

I'm just asking his order status, since he ordered just 2 days before i've ordered so that i can compare/verify whether the delay is only for me or all who've ordered in that week range.

 

It's still showing Work In Progress.

I think you are lucky for me it took more than 20 days for status change to Manufacturing build completed. Anyways now i think they got keyboard and mine also build completed, but now stuck in bluedart with the following status "Linehaul Delayed; Accident/Traffic-Jam Contact Customer Service"

 

Did you do anything special to change your order status?

Why mine is still under WIP? What should I do yaar?

I didnt do anything special still my EDD is Feb 23rd only, but its already shipped from factory and its with bluedart now. Mostly they will deliver it tomorrow.

BTW why its WIP for you, i thought now all orders getting cleared ASAP especially after seeing "chaituprince" post . He ordered 15th Feb and with in 2 days manufacturing completed Did you check in bluedart site? if not please check it.

 

Last Night a Miracle Happened!

I checked status on 7 pm yesterday; it was WIP.

I again checked status on 11 am today; it is Mfg. Build Completed.

Also EDD jumped from 01 Mar to 25 Feb.

BlueDart was not able to find my number; it says, "- No matching Waybill/Reference Number/Order Number."

 

You can track your order in BlueDart only after the order status changes to "Ship From Factory".

My order status is still the same as yesterday. I wonder if they ship during weekends

 

Not true at least in my case. Still my order status says "Manufacturing build completed" but its delivered today...but im in office now
Actually my order status changed to Manufacturing build completed on 16th FEB and 17th night i was able to see it from bluedart.

Can anyone who has successfully completed the order please help me out. I have placed a order for laptop yesterday.Today my dad got a call from dell representative but he only asked on whose name is the bill for laptop to be made. We haven't received a mail or call from him.

As of now , we don't know what is the further procedure. We wish to pay via cheque. How do we have to make the payment?

So please can someone guide me how to go about this.

Customer care isn't helping out.

I am getting very impatient.

Regarding laptop, im no gamer so cant comment on that, other than that its fine. Screen doesnt look that much good may be i should've gone for 1080P .

Backlit KB looks cool As like others say i dont've any fan noise, but after 1 hr(almost) usage i feel lot of heats in the bottom side, its high bit comparable to my previous HP and office laptop(IBM).

Other issues are as-usual like heat at touch-pad, no indicators for caps lock, wifi,bt

Regarding my order status, it shows up in blue dart now. But on dell, its still under manufacturing build complete

I had ordered from local chroma store in mumbai, india and made a check payment there.
Price = Price shown over dell site + 900 (delivery charges)

I gave them a check dated 7th feb. Check cleared on 11th Feb.

I had to give a call to my chroma-dell representative where I came to know that my order status arrived just that day(15th). He gave me order number and other stuff.

I logged on to dell's site to check my order status entered proper required details(which you get while placing an order) . There I came to know my order status (order received: 15thFeb, other status updates on previous pages of this thread)

So, to conclude, confirm ur order status from the site if u have the following details:
1.
a) Order Number OR
b) Quotation Number OR
c) Customer/buyer code OR
d) Internet Reference Number OR
e) PO Number/Order sheet number OR
AND
2.
a) Email Address
b) Last 4 digits of your mobile number

To Begin with i must say this entire 18 page discussion is really informative... it gives one an insight on all aspects that go into directly ordering from Dell India.

Im considering replacing my 3 year old HPDV6000 laptop with a dell studio ... since you guys are such experts in the whole dell thing could you'll advise me on the following?
1) My job involves using MS Office,reading pdf, Editing images and running SAP on a laptop, occasionally i watch movies. which is a better option a 14" or 15"?
2) how much is the bat life on a 6 cell and 12 cell bat (on the new studio with i5,4 gb ram,500gb hdd,512 graphics)?
3)is the 3 years accident warranty thing worth it?
4) Is it better to order from a dell outlet or from home?
5)How do we order dell spares like bat,adapter etc after the purchase?

Received my lappy yesterday... But I was not available at the delivery address on account of a holiday... Called blue-dart customer care today and received the delivery today itself in office. I'm very anxious to reach home and check how it is. I'll let you know the updates tomorrow.

Estimate Delivery Date: 11-Mar-2010

Today is 11-Mar-2010. On monday, Dell representative said I will receive the shipment this week only.

When I check shipping status at Bluedart after prefixing 78 with my order number, it does not found anything.

Any idea what is going on?

 

Ideally, it should have shown up in bluedart. Confirm your reference number. Generally, the delivery is on or a day before the Estimated Delivery Date.

I call Dell representative, she has the same method of tracking (checking with Bluedart website with prefix 78....), so She cannot give anymore information. But she added that since your estimated delivery date is the same since monday, you are supposed to get it today.

The question is: Is it possible that I could not find anything on Bluedart tracking details and still get the shipment?

Edit:
Received it on 16th. Details in Dell Order status page showed no delivery date. Blue dart page was showing only the pickup date which was 13th. Blue dart call center had information from 15th only. May be this information helps someone.

hi

i oredered studio 1558 on monday 10th , but it is still in "work in progress" state . how many it will be in "WIP" state

 

still status in "work in progress" and edd is 17th may but after one week they cheanged it to 26th may ,

and they are not lifting phone and responding to mails.

it is the worst experience i had , and it will be the my first and last dell product i buy in my entire life.

 

oh my order status changed to manufacture completed , and date is moved from 26th to 24th may ,
some what better ,

 

I have purchased few dell laptops over the last 4-5 years. So far the service was fine.

Recently I purchased a dell monitor. This is the begining of a nightmare. Firstly I got a wrong monitor. Then it's tough to get thru the person who carried out my order. Its been few weeks still I am struggling to get this over with. Either the person is not available or I get transferred thru departments on phone. Very bad service .
