omg!! It's now in the boxing stage! I'm so excited !!

 

It sounds like that the ESD dates are pretty accurate then, at least for people with systems similar to mine.

I cant wait till mine gets here. I wanted the Black Color, but I wasnt willing to give up the WSXGA+ screen for a quicker shipment. I'm in no real hurry, but waiting sure does suck. I'll be super excited if mine ships when it is supposed to.

Oops, didn't realize this was just for 1520s. Is there a big difference in delays for the 1520s and 1420s?

Nice! We ordered on the same day, so its possible that my computer is in boxing too. Too bad I can't tell since I'm in Canada, and I can only see that its "in production"

ok i just have a question, how do people know that their order is in boxing/kitting/whatever? I check the order status page and it just says in production, no thorough details. do you call the automated order thing or what?

 

bulio and blahboy, to see what specific stage your order is in call 1-800-433-9014. as soon as the automated voice starts talking you can type in your order number and then press #

it will tell you everything.

 

that is of course if you live in the US. in Canada i think you actually have to talk to a dell rep to get your detailed status info.

sorry if this has been asked before...but how do you track the shipping?

 

I had originally ordered a Blue 1520. When that order was delayed I ordered a Jet Black since conventional wisdom was that the blacks were shipping. Today I got the email that my black system which had an esd of 8/24/07 was going to be delayed until 8/31. Not bad as far as Dell delays go but I'd rather that the blue one ship on the 28th as (re)scheduled. Then the black will be cancelled.

Just called dell today because in Canada you cant use the automated phone service or see the build phase online... Bad news... Not only do they tell me my ESD is now September 7th... but she also told me that my laptop is still in preproduction they haven't even started building it after a full week!!! Oh but they were so nice to offer to call me when it gets shipped out of texas lmao... I have a gut feeling its gonna get DELLayed How much of a delay before you can request overnight shipping?

they do work yes but your status will not change ... all three time mine didnt show shipped till the following mon after the weekend

had 3 bad vostro' s i had to send back.. got super pissed and yelled loud enough for someone to listen ... i got them from the escalations dept via a very nice guy i spoke with who is sopposedly very high up in the chain of command he directed me to escalations and told them do WHATEVER i need done period while i was on the same phone call with them.. im sure i could have got more out of them but this guy was so nice and so helpful to me i wasnt going tp push the issue any further i took the additional 300$ and free upgrade to wsxga and ran with it

 

damnit im bored where is my lappy lol

It seems like they won't make the 28th shipping date for my expresso brown 1520. I'm thinking of switching it to jet black but I hear that I'd have to reorder it.

I used coupons, got a free carrying case for the delays, some extra money back and free overnight shipping. If I reorder would I still be able to keep this stuff? Do you guys think it'll still ship really fast? I'm tired of waiting for the color lid plus I hear they might peel

call and change the order dont cancel and re-order.. they can do this ive done it before.. talk to a csr rep they have made changes for me before.. just make sure they dont touch anything other than color..

 

It's shipped!!! Now I have to wait for tracking I have next day shipping but why is the estimate delivery date 29-31...

 

OMG.. so I just called Dell to change my order to jet black from expresso brown so that it ships faster but after waiting 20 min. for the person to try to change the order they tell me that I'd have to get the glossy screen in jet black because they're out of matte. I am SO close to canceling..

 

same here...they won't update tracking status since it's a weekend...GRRR
hopefully it'll get here tomorrow and put me out of my misery
