I ordered mine on the 13th too! We would be really really lucky if they get ship next week

I think it's the screen for sure...

 

Just called, my order is now shipped to the carrier. It went into boxing Tuesday morning.

 

Chatted with Dell this morning. Take it for what it's worth. Could be blowing smoke for all I know. I ordered the 1680x1050 screen, thinking about changing to 1440x900.

I think changing your order will delay it even more, too.

 

Sounds like the glossy screen and the T7300 is the lethal combination, like taso89 said. Hopefully mine will go into boxing soon!

 

It seems to me that it's also the size of the glossy screen--1440x900.

I've seen larger and smaller glossies ship that ordered after me...

Yeah, it has to be. Just called, still in Build I wanted it earlier, now I don't even think it'll arrive on time.

 

Sigh, I will be pretty surprised if mine arrives by the 22nd.

I called earlier and BUILD for me, too. I'm trying to only call a couple of times a day. I am not an obsessive type but this has me preoccupied.

I just hope the danged thing is worth the wait!

 

Me too, my wife just bought a 15" Macbook Pro amd it's nice! I'm not a real fan of Macs but if this turns out to be a stinker I'll return it and maybe get a Mac. Did I just say that ?

 

MBP's are nice but in my opinion not worth shelling out the extra 1,200-1,300 for the exact same hardware I'm getting with Dell (even with the painstakingly long waiting times).

We have almost the same exact specs, I imagine when one of ours goes to testing, so will the other.

 

The same thing has crossed my mind. I've resisted switching over to Mac because I don't want to purchase another version of the Adobe Creative Suite right now, I just upgraded to CS3!

Macs are pretty but you're paying extra for the "sexy".

lmao, i laugh at people who cancel their other colours, and order a black one when the waiting time is exactly the same =x or even delay it even more =)

 

can we ask what the status of the order is by chatting with the guys at customer service? or do we HAVE to call and check there.

 

The very first order for me was midnightblue then it got delayed so I canceled it and ordered jetblack. I did this because people were saying, at that time, that they were getting their 1520 jetblack inspirons shipped within 2-3days. But I don't think I didn't wait that long. For me, I waited 10days before it went into boxing stage. I'm sure yours will arrive somewhere around that timeframe.

 

I think in order to find out you'd have to call the automated number. CSR's online can only check if they have the DOP software like the reps at the kiosks.

 

Still waiting. it is on the dhl truck out for delivery. They have 2hrs and 10 min left. hmmm!

Judging from some of the responses, mine should be entering boxing soon! Somebody (I forget who it was) has the same exact specs as me plus a webcam, and theirs is in boxing!

PS: Whats the number I call for the automated system to find out what stage your laptop is in? I've been looking for a while and I cant find it .

I'll join the waiting list. I ordered mine before the rush but it seems that that's irrelevant. From a 9 day delay to a 25 day delay to now an 18 day delay. Ordered July 24, into production on the 27, est. delivery on the 20th...that date is now sept sometime (they say the first week).

I got the lethal midnight blue. Seems they have a supplier problem.
