Stuck in the infinite loop that is dell's ordering system...

 

This is for the 1440x900 glossy screen...I'm glad there's no delay on mine...but it's still in the build stage :|

You're lucky. They won't tell me anything on chat. They tell me every second line to call in instead. 'we don't have access to that information' or 'your inquiry is best answered by a dell support rep over the phone'. I have to dedicate 20mins to wait on hold if I want any info.

 

Received Thursday 8-16. Ordered 8-2. Nice so far. no cpu whine noise. have not checked the headphone jack yet. I was to busy setting up wireless. clowns at linksys. now the wired does not connect.

 

I'm beginning to think that the 1680x1050 resolution screen is what is causing mine to have been stuck in the build stage for 12 days now. :*( I can't see what else it would be...

Well, I broke down and called CS and spoke with someone. I asked if there was anything in my order that was causing any delays and the 11 day build stage. He said no that there was nothing wrong with my configuration and that no components are on backorder. He said that it would be shipped on my ESD. So I guess I'll report back when I get it.

Current Status: Build (since 8/6..grrr)

I thought the ESD was a joke, but I guess that's for real...unfortunately. I guess it could be worse.

 

Mine arrived in the States at 2AM this morning. It was trucked from Ohio to Central Illinois and is with the courier who will be dropping it off at my home. So it's probably 4-8 hours until the wait is over. I'll post pics when I get it.

The package shipped on Friday so isn't next business day next monday? Any Ideas? It says it's still in transit to the carrier, maybe that's why they haven't updated the ESD? I'm hecka confused..

Still in build today.. I was seriously counting on the fact that I'd have it in my hands early, but now it'd be nice just to have it ON-TIME That leaves me with a couple of days to install Vista Ultimate and transfer all my stuff before college.

 

This happened to me. It was next business day which was yesterday. So maybe Monday.

 

I'm still in build. I only wish I could see exactly what stage its in. If I do the Dell online chat in Canada, can a rep tell me exactly what build stage its in?

 

Mine is suppose to ship today but my status is still in the build stage, Il probably give them a call in the nest few hours and tell them how upset i am see if they will help me out.

 

ask for compensation, they'll gladly give out free products if you get delayed.

 

Let us know what you hear. I have zero faith that mine will ship next week.

 

Those of you who have been checking often and seeing any changes in status from build to testing to boxing, etc, what time of day are you noticing these changes? Is it over night these changes are happening or is it during the day for us here in the States? I'm just curious if I'm wasting my time checking during the day when I should just be checking every morning or what...

 

I had been in boxing from 11pm Tuesday night until sometime between 4AM and 11AM this morning when I was updated to Shipped. I think it's really a crapshoot. You should probably just not sleep until you get a tracking number.

 

I called in around 8:00 am PDT Tuesday morning to find out mine was in testing. It went into boxing sometime around 3:00 pm the same day and is still in boxing. It does seem pretty random.

 

At least some hope for us glossy 1440x900 folk. Given that mine should have went into testing by now. Hopefully it will this weekend.

 

I just called again and it said mine was in the KITTING stage.
Well, I suppose any change is good. I must admit I jumped when I heard a word other than BUILD.

 

YES! This is great news. You will be in boxing within 24 hours my friend =]. That means they have WXGA+ screens.

EDIT: Just called, mine's in kitting as well!

 

My god, I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve..

My ESD was moved to 8/24 today. I used the dell chat and the woman gave me Next Buisness Day shipping and promised to "expidate" my order. I was like "HA! Don't make me laugh I have diarhea."

Just got my black beauty! It is gorgeous!

Too bad I got a blue screen whenever the computer was setting up the desktop. I restarted and all is well.

 

ordered 8/1. I'm not in a huge rush for mine. I'm am a little tired of them telling everyone they will expediate their order and it never seems to actually help.

 

I ordered the WXGA screen same as yours and I added you to our JetBlack list

 

I wonder why yours was shipped but mine's delayed. And I ordered before you.

You know what, with all due respect, I really think that you should've gotten it before mine. Many people have gotten into this frustration where people who ordered after them had gotten theirs beforehand. Look at my list, there are people who are still waiting that have ordered before me. All we can do is blame stupid dell for their unorganized building process. Mattstl77, who apparently gotten his laptop recently... Congrats!, have made a interesting thread while back about the dell build process here.
