Yep I believe that is the one I had to go to as well but my packages arrive about 2 or 3 pm

Anyhow, are you still in Pre-Production? If so, I would try to get a hold of a rep and ask what is causing the delay.

 

Yeah they upgraded me from the OLD admire to the NEW admire haha

 

mines still in pre-production. i'm contemplating cancelling and going with the envy 13 instead. ati discreet, intel ssd, longer battery and 1600x900 for nearly the same $.

 

In that case lilyang I'd suggest swapping out your 256GB drive with the 128GB in your old one

shadowarachh - that isn't a bad idea, just make sure you get that Radiance display ($100 upgrade). I have heard really good things about it. The only thing I really can't get over with the Envy's is the looks. Just not a fan of Macs and REALLY not a fan of the carbon copy the Envy team did with it. lol

 

its def a carbon copy. id go for the radiance, intel ssd, sl9400,and 5gb memory for 2233 shipped which is about 100 more than the adamo. this gets me:

hp vs. dell
5gb vs. 4gb
1600x900 vs. 1366x768
ati hd4330 vs. intel 4500
160 intel vs. 256 samsung
sl9400 vs. sl9600

im wondering what to do.

 

There is nothing like the Adamo, really. Truely a marvel of design and engineering (if you get it and open up the bottom, you'll see what I mean).

The only thing that will be a lot better with the Envy, IMO, is the LCD. I don't care to have the 4330 as I am not using my ultraportable to game on anyway, so that is a non-factor.

 

you are right. at the most I'll be playing older titles like HoMM,fallout and if torchlight works on my netbook I'm sure it will run fine on the adamo.

 

The one I have right now already has the 256gb ssd

but I agree I like the design of the Adamo much more than the envy 13, I looked into it as well and the lack of backlit keys and price turned me away

 

Well, the new Admire you are going to get won't have the 256GB SSD.

That's why I said do the swap when your new system comes.

 

Ah was confused, but yes it will have the 256gb ssd since they said they had to match my system in every way and it shows on the order page they put on my account!

 

I bet that is why your system is being held up, unfortunately.

1.6Ghz???? There is a 1.2 and a 1.4Ghz, plus the 2.1Ghz, but 1.6Ghz??

And, the 256GB model is just in the Desire (unless you get one of the oddball systems that lilyang and I got from the Outlet!).

 

Oh im sorry what the heck was i thinking, so its a 1.4 256ssd. Is there a link for that system ? I only see the 1.4 128 ssd on the dell site ?
Also 1.4 vs 1.86 ( my current) is there a hugh speed difference or will it be minimal ?

Only available in the outlet as a refurb.

 

You might be able to call them and have them throw one in there for a price... but not entirely sure I just know I have seen a few on ebay that have those specs, I will be getting a 1.4 model with 256gb ssd but that is a special circumstance

Update to my shipping: I called them up and they said they had no idea why it is so late but he said it should be shipped today, so fingers crossed!

 

If it is still in pre-production there is no way it ships today.

i called in earlier and he said "let me move that to production for you". ok . magically no idea why its was in pre-production for 4 days but i checked and its now in the build stage.

it was upgraded to free next day but it'll end up shipping on a friday just because he did.

i'm wondering if there was an issue with parts or they put a hold on it because i had 2 M15x's in transit back to them.

My mandarina duck case came early for my previous order as well.. it was lonely for a couple days too lol

i'm not saying its bad at all. i prefer the fabric to leather, and it seems it has memory foam sandwiched inside. i just don't feel it warrants the $50 tag.

theres no way in h-e-double hockey sticks i'd pay $400 for a laptop bag.

Meh I am satisfied with it, my adamo sleeps on a tempur-pedic mattress for $50, if Speck charges Apple users $50 for those hard cases then this is not half bad

My only gripe is that though I like it more than the tumi, the back keeps getting messed up since it comes in contact with the velcro from my AW Odyssey backup pocket where I keep it

 

So the Tumi sleeves are garbage?

I am looking to get a sleeve and you seem to have (or have had) both.

 

For $100 I would take the duck over the tumi, my uncle has the black tumi to go with his onyx adamo and it is nice but for the price I was not impressed

EDIT: I am not entirely sure what the material is on the Tumi, it had this sort of plasticy feel that I didn't like as much as the memory foam in the mandarina duck, also I prefer the duck looks since the Tumi was a little too business looking for me to take to class everyday
