Ken any hard date? Like Eddie said July 4th. I'm getting pissed off. I would rather have them say its delayed one month then going another week, another week, another week...

I heard they are preparing the shipment from Taiwan, I asked the same question to Asus product manager he says the hard date and the most accurate ETA will be they actually have it in their warehouse.
Patience guys, I've seen the unit and it's worth to wait.

Other good thing about the back cover is it's not painted so the paint won't come off.

Thanks Ken for posting pictures and for your help. Im sure we all have questions and you are working on a review. Please remember to answer the following questions:

Does it include the TV tuner or is it really "optional"?

Does it support 4GB of ram (XP and Vista)?

    Does it support DDR2-800?

Does it have the 3GB magic number (XP and Vista)?

Is it really made of Tyrannosaurus eggs, White Wale liver, and Bald Eagle talons?

I know I missed some important questions here please help me out guys.

The one they show me has a analog TV Tunver (Opitional, will be available in the future) and I asked them about digital turner they say it won't be available, so we don't plan to carry analog TV tuner.

The BIOS can only recognize 3GB of RAM DDR667.

I haven't fully test the unit yet, but will be if I have time to do it.

It's only a engineering sample so I think the release version will be better than this one.

It's not a noob questions, it's actually a good question, according to Intel's spec the 945 chipset should support up to 4GB of RAM, but for some reason that all of them can only go up to 3GB and I don't know why.

    I'll get the 160GB 5400 rpm instead of 100GB 7200rpm because:
It has larger capacity than 100GB, even it has only 5400rpm but it reads more data than 100GB per rpm, so they are about the same performance.

    a quick question ken

i was trying to pre order using pay pal - how does that work since it asks you to send the money right away? (on yur web site it says it wont cahrge until it's ready to ship)

    thanks!

oh and 2 more thing - do you think the corsair ram is worth it over the non-branded ones?

and would it be faster to ship if you didnt have to install the OS?

With 81 minuted of battery it's looking like a bad idea, but I think Im going to buy one for school... I know, right?

    The IFL90 has 512MB on-die VRAM and 256MB TurboCache...
The Asus has DHMI and DVI ports...
    The C90S has BOTH!

    There's wall plugs. I'll live.

lol yeah if the c90 ever comes out, I'm thinking about preordering one because of all the delays, what do you think vicious? Do you think preordering is safe or should i wait for a review?

I have high faith in this one I think its safe.

I did alot of research on it, and have gotten to hear from sombody with a recent hands on experience.

If you need a notebook, and like what the c90 has to offer may as well preorder.

If you dont need one, no harm can come from waiting. I should have a really in depth review up in a week as I expect to get mine soon. So its not like if you dont preorder you cant get one, you just will have it later.

But I also plan to dig into the heat/noise. The battery life, performance benchmarks, screen quality, web cam quality. ect.

If you wait for my review and others you can avoid the risk and know exactly what your getting.

Oh and im going to be using 4gb of ram, so while im really sure it wont work, atleast I can tackle that aswell.

If you really want to make one really good investment the c80 will be a total DTR, with a 8800gtx or higher probably and more options. Waiting for that may be a good idea. But since I only need this for semi dtr reasons, and will still rely on my desktop for ultra high end gaming its perfect for me.

Plus I hand picked all my parts and got away with a killer system dirt cheap.

Hmm I will likely preorder it then O_O; I don't play many games as i mentioned FFXI really is the only thing, my current desktop lags like a ***** :( I can barely do more than one thing at once :/

My budget caps at 2000 and the c90 fits it, I really need a machine that can run vista :) Hopefully the c90 will be able to run crysis on medium at least. maybe 1024x768 :X

my current desktop machine will turn into a hdd box, I currently have 1 terrabyte of space in it and will bump that up to 1.5 when i no longer need the dvd-r drive on it :)

Most I've ever need was 120gb... lol

Also, I have a ? for Ken. I think I'm gonna wait to order my C90 until a review comes out. So I was wondering if you have so many pre-orders it will slow down the shipping of regular orders, I know there will be a bit of one but will it be substantial?

Also does anyone know what carrying case the C90 comes with since I've heard it has one included.

hello i'm new on this forum, and I'm very interested in this laptop. My question is if the quad core price is going to be cut by a 50 per cent, it will be cheaper to buy a Q6600 than a X6800, but which will be better?
Does anyone know a posible release date for the c80?

    Thank you

wat a pitty, i think it would be much better than the C90 about quality/price.

I hope Asus change the chipset so we can customize c80 with 4gb and (if possible!!!) with a quad, and i think it would be much cheaper to put a q6600 than to put X6800.

c90s is delayed atleast until the 10th of july. So far it is "confirmed". i hate this $hit. so annoying. between transit, customs, unloading, unpacking, relabeling and shipping i bet it wont depart asus fremont until the 15th if it actually departs taiwan on the 4th

the battery life can not be confirmed yet. Nobody here had a chance to play with the new features of controe when it is bundled with a better way to clock it. If you can reduce the vltage and clock speed better and lower then a mobile c2d why shouldnt it have better battery life then a true mobile? granted if you do not take advantage of lowering the power consumption of the cpu on battery then you will get less battery life. if you want to compare pound for pound the c90s should be able to get the same battery life as any other mobile.

I don't think it will be in our hands the 25th, 1 week ago in Dell site I try to order an Inspiron 1720 and the shipment date was 30 of July!!!!!! With Asus idk if it will be faster, I hope!.

Is the c90s motherboard ready to afford a Q6600?
    And the battery?

Not against you Ken but is this really confirmed? I know its not the resellers fault but is this really "confirmed like honestly? Like I know before (again not blaming the resellers) they said it was confirmed and it wasn't.
