Yes, it fits the Asus N43SL. It has a bit of flex but it is more confortable to type on. I got the portuguese version of the same keyboard.

Hi guys, I have a question. Where is the built in microphone on this laptop? I have no idea where to start?
-
It is about 4cm to the left of the centre of the webcam. It is a small hole in the bezel.

i own n43sl with i7-2630QM 4gb ram and gt540

i got interrupt problem like andreyash posted
acpi.sys begin system interrupt that hog resource 1 core of my cpu
after narrowed down the source problem
seems like interrupt begin when my nvidia gt540 temp is over 80C
is it normal temp when you used nvidia gpu for gaming?
did any n43sl owner here doesn't have this problem?
wht did you do with your n43sl? -
I don't have this problem. I'm using Nvidia 285.62 and Intel 8.15.10.2559 drivers. System specs in my sig.

First time with an SNB laptop. Would have liked to have had a bit more time with it to check a few other things out. Certainly the BIOS is tightly locked down. Would have been interesting to try a bit of OC'ing with CPU and RAM but looks like that might involve some major work.
Still running C2D in the laptop here and probably will not be upgrading until sometime around Haswell. -
I just got a REALLY weird problem after updating the following drivers: atheros wlan card, the touchpad, AHCI, Realtek Audio, all from the first page in this thread. I suddenly cant fast forward/use the search bar when I play videos in VLC player.
This is just too freaky, I've tried to reinstall/unstall k-lite codecs and vlc player, no change. It works with win media player, but I want to use VLC.
Also, I can't move icons on the desktop.
Ok. Edit:
After a restart the above problems are solved. But a new problem has occured, when I use winamp 5.662 to play mp3s there is interference with the touchpad/mouse pointer, it lags and is impossible to move in smooth or straight lines. When I use iTunes this is not a problem. Is there some kinda touchpad/realtek driver problem going on here? Never should have updated the drivers, this much crazy stuff is not normal. -
dunno whats wrong with mine
i test stressing cpu using prime95 the interrupt problem doesnt appear
cpu got temperature 85C in this test
but stressing GPU always triger interrupt
using furmark benchmark stressing my gpu got 85C
interrupt seems trigger when gpu over 80C
any suggestion? -

I've updated some drivers like touchpad and Intel WLAN, as well as Intel Chipset Device Software and Intel RST, among others. If you're facing problems, try installing them and see what happens. The touchpad and WLAN drivers are newer than the ones available on Station Drivers
-
It's only when I use the touchpad. I now tried to plug in my usb mouse, and it works perfectly, interestingly the touchpad also works just fine now. Now I unplugged the usb mouse and the touchpad seems to work perfect again. This is creepy, is my precious N43SN haunted and in need of an exorcism?
I tried to google winamp related touchpad problems but didn't get wise, even though I found some random similar problems, some dating back to 2004. -
If the problem is gone, then don't worry too much about it. Try finding out under what circumstances will the problem appear and what solves it (using a usb mouse). This way it is easier for us to narrow down the possible causes

hello i've a problem with my new Asus N43SL jay chou version
yesterday i just bought it from Taiwan and have a problem with the usb 3.0
i connect my external hdd ( wd element usb 3.0 ) to the usb 3.0 port on my N43sl.But when i watch movie or do something else on my external hardisk,it's automaticlly Disconnect and Reconnect. What should i do ?
i found a tutorial to update the bios, but when i tried to update with winflash there's a message " my bios is newer " when i tried to update the Freco driver from asus website it's also automaticlly disconnect and reconnect..
thanks for the help -
Try using the USB3 drivers from here instead. As for bios, place the extracted bios file in a FAT32 formatted drive and flash it in Easyflash by pressing F2 repeatedly to enter the bios upon startup and entering Easyflash from there. However if the bios versions are the same or your downloaded bios is older, don't flash it. Only flash if your downloaded bios is newer.

Cocoroco:
As far as I could see your disc comes without an external power supply? I had a similar issue when I bought an external WD Passport disc. After some research I realised that the laptop is unable to supply the amount of power needed to run the drive through the USB 3.0 port, this is an issue with a number of different models out there, not just Asus. The only solution was to use it with the 2.0 ports... I ended up taking the disc back and replace it with one with external power. Dunno if a Bios update fixes the problem...
With my own problem, Winamp continues to disturb my touchpad (I'm a long time fan, so can't stop using it after like 15 years). There are also some signs of interference with my headphones since I hear short cracks/bumps when I configure the touchpad or close Winamp. I'm going to try to reinstall the sound driver to see if that helps, or maybe uninstall and reinstall the previous version if I can find it. -
According to your descriptions, the touchpad driver seems to be the culprit. Could you try these drivers and see if they do anything?
-
No difference. I'll try to install the 10.0.6.3 version and see if it makes a difference.

Hi guys, I came into a small audio problem yesterday. The speakers started producing crackling sounds. I don't know how it became like this, I haven't dropped my laptop or anything. Could it be driver problems? I am worried since this is a pretty new laptop. Has anyone encountered this problem? or is it just me? I found out the problem goes away when I restart the laptop, but after a while it just starts occuring again. Any ideas?
-
First, try plugging in external speakers. If they also have the crackling sounds, then it is a driver problem and get the latest drivers here to see if it helps. If there's no crackling sound, it's probably the internal speakers screwing up, in which case you would need to RMA. However, try the new drivers first to be absolutely sure.

Tried the new drivers. Again, worked perfectly fine until I opened my Flashget and FreeGate. -
I am experiencing quite similar problems, but not very noticeable, it started after I updated to the latest elantech drivers as well as the touchpad driver.
On my issue, I tried uninstalling the touchpad driver, and I guess I can confirm it is the problem vis a vis winamp, because when I run the Windows auto install driver there is no issue with winamp. I installed an old elantech driver from march or something, and the problem reoccurs. I am beginning to think the problem isn't the touchpad driver alone, but a combo with the new audio driver. I'll try to find the previous version of it and see. Anyone's got a link? -

Thanks, I will check it out later.
I found a thread on another forum btw, where they update the latest realtech drivers, it also has a running discussion on issues different users are experiencing. The noise/crackling issue seems to be a common problem with Realtech, some of the first posts regards this. -
After some messing around trying to install the old realtech driver I give up, ended with issues of the "Windows auto driver install right after restart". I didn't bother finding out how you disable that, so never got to finish the reinstall. So now I'm running the latest drivers, and decided to start using iTunes when I'm not connected to a usb mouse. Even though I loath iTunes for its file sorting system.
Had a bit of crash today after running the latest WinUpdate as well, after returning from sleep I got a bluescreen saying something about a memory error (no time to read all). Afterwards I had to run windows startup repair and system restore in order to get the laptop going again, for a moment I was afraid my RAM chip had kicked the bucket. Dunno if this is a issue with some new windows update, I'm going to wait a while before installing those again for sure. -
Hi everybody, I need your help.... I bought my Asus N43SN from a MercadoLibre dealer and it's ok, (only lacks of Bluetooth). But when I try a Recovery from the hard drive (F9) it install "Windows 7 Home Basic OA China". Precisely my forgotten language . Ok I have a few questions:
- Can I change the language or the Os version in the Recovery Partition? or a batch to change it when installed? It's because Home Basic can't be upgraded.
- Can someone upload the Driver DVD please?. It could be useful when reinstall the Os.
Thanks for your help!!!!! -
You cannot modify the recovery partition. Why does it even give you Home Basic? It should come with Home Premium by default.
As for drivers, the links to the latest drivers are on the first post. Download them and save them to a thumbdrive if you want to reformat your computer. -
Hi. I can't seem to connect to my wireless anymore. I can connect to my wireless with other computers, and to other wireless services with this computer so I'm not sure what the problem might be. Anyone got any tips for what I might do?
-
First, try with another wireless network if you have that possibility.

I use System stability Tester 1.42...and the result show below on the picture.
Ignore the benchmark, look at the max temp. that reached 92c is that normal? or any other people in this forum can test the N43SL
systester-1.4.2-win64.zip - 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download
also when compare with i5(2nd picture),my i7 has anomaly?Attached Files:

First of all, you are lucky to have an i7 2670QM!
With the same test I have 85°C (i7 2630QM), so with a higher frequency with 2670QM you may have some additional degrees imo. -
*mybe the other members also need comparing their benchmark result just to verify their system meet the minimum performance from equal rig -
for charging u can try read this ASUS Ai Charger - Quick charge your iPod, iPhone and even iPad!
or u can download the latest AI Charger AI_Charger_V10009_Windows_3264bitXP_Vista_7.zip - 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download
using AI Charger, Charge my iphone from 30% to 90% only need 15 Minutes
Plug in USB 3.0 port -
Did you already test this with the Asus N43SL? -
No, it will not work like that. You can only charge when the computer is on because it has to be hardware enabled, software alone won't do it.
-
Well, I don't know if it is because of winter or maybe last BIOS update, but temps of my laptop had down 8º degrees.
1 month ago, playing starCraft 2 with med-high custom graphics temps arrived to 75º CPUs and 78º GPU.
Today, after hours of playing and after put graphics on Ultra-high, CPUs are 66º and GPU 64º.
Miracle? Haha
Instead of this a couple of times image dissapeared or had a "pixel party", solving when I minimize window and max again.
I think this temps change maybe happent because I passed from "Full Display Game" to "Window (full display)".
Some one can try to play any game in both modes and see if there is any temp change?
thanks -

Drivers for Atheros LAN, Atheros Bluetooth and Intel WLAN updated, grab them from the first post.

Hello all
I've just bought ASUS N43SL 2 days ago and I realize that the keyboard is acting strange.
The problem is, in some key that has special function, for example the 'p' button will actually type an asterisk rather than 'p', the asterisk supposed to be typed when the 'fn' button is pressed too. This also apply to the button that will type number and some mathematical symbol with 'fn' button pressed.
So in the end, I have to press 'fn' everytime I want to type the letter normally.
Can anyone gime me a hint to what's going on? Does it have anything to do with ATK hotkey? It was normal before ATK is installed but even uninstalling it won't fix the problem -
Press ctrl+fn+insert (num lock) together and it should return to normal.
(ps: next time, google ) -
Yes, how silly of me, just figured it out just now anyway. The thing is I didn't realize that the num lock on my external keyboard will affect the system like that, this didn't happen with my previous laptop
Well thank you for your answer anyway @too456, sorry if the question is pretty basic -
-
Well, no one have strange temps?
I asked a few answers before because I'm playing SC2 with Ultra Settings (system recommends medium) and my max temps are 74ºCPUs and 71º GPU. -
74 and 71 for CPU and GPU respectively are very good - you shouldn't need to worry unless the temperature for CPU goes above 90 degrees.
-
Anyone who has only been using desktops will tell you those temps are pretty high, don't listen to them, those are good for a laptop. -
Anyone here who has experienced the dreaded bluescreen (didn't see what it said) after unplugging a hdmi cable?
