How much higher of a memory clock?

Can you link the gcard and bios drivers?

Temps were only at 68 MAX

Also I put the core to only +20 and made the memory to +550 and my game crashed.

While trying to install windows 7 via flash drive on my Samsung 830 ssd i got an error stating "A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing", which i've read is a quite common error. Can't find the necessary driver to download from the Asus support site.. Out of options and can't get an answer so am redownloading a windows 7 iso and instead of using wintoflash to format it to the usb drive as i had done previously, I'll use the microsoft windows 7 usb/dvd download tool which supposedly doesn't give the driver error.. If anyone can give any pointers in a timely fashion I'd greatly appreciate it.

I bought this computer and have swapped it out a few times now due to horizontal lines appearing in darkly shaded areas. The problem persists, i'm thinking it may be the same problem posted here Weird Horizantal Lines on Dark background with 296.1 and newer drivers and up - NVIDIA Forums. I've tried different drivers and everything i can think of including calling both asus and nvidia, but i'm so close to getting rid of the whole computer. I got it from best buy and it has the gtx 660m video card in it. If anyone has any advice please help.

    edit

nice backpack. My backpack I use for work is getting old. I think I just found my replacement. I may use the asus backpack for a while also.

I have updated the bios to 207 i believe and still the same issue. Maybe there is some monitor setting or something... its sort of creates an outline of dark areas with these lines.

My 660M hasn't exceeded 75 degrees C when running stress tests and I haven't encountered it shutting off randomly.

    3Dbench mark.

in 3d mark 11? no you are confusing with 3d mark vantage.

there is no mobile card that does 10k in 3d mark 11, the best that we have can only do 7k overclocked to the desktop speeds

The only way i have gotten around this is to burn a boot dvd of windows 7. Here's the thing, when i burn it at the fastest burn rate, the error reoccurs. So my solution was to burn it at the slowest possible rate, and it eventually worked and i got my clean install.

For whatever I always get around it by moving the windows 7 usb drive to different ports to get it to. Seems to work most the time but I have encountered this problem.

Its in the proc but they removed the part that lets it work on the board. I dont think its a stupid. These laptops are not really made to be all that portable. I did not get the G series to have long battery life. That is what I have my ul30vt for. I wanted a desktop replacement for a small space area. This laptop fits the bill.

I remember a thread about it here about why it was not used in the last G series laptops. Maybe someone can find it. It showed why they did not have it

Becouse then you need to make more optimizing, all operations in optimus, new switch to turn off nvidia gpu. It requires more money ant time. Can you, for example turn optimus in your pc very easily? I guess no. Since it has external powerfull gpu, optimus is shut down automaticly. Do you really think you'll use optimus on 4kg laptop? Do you think you can easily take it where ever you want? It's GAMING laptop, not subnotebook or ultranotebook. If you dont want Asus G series take whatever that has optimus. But it will be more expensive.

I can take it wherever i can, and as i said, if not optimus, at last leave me the option to turn of Nvidia and turn on Intel trough bios when im on a coffeshop, or at work, in a meeting, chilling in the sofa... or whatever.
MSI put optimus there, so its not that big of a deal... its a feature that many will use, and the ones that dont, dont lose anything... so its win win...

Now... can anyone post a bench on BF3 1440x900 or similar with settings in high, no AA?

If i can move that nicely ill buy it...

If I buy the G75, and a bare SSD Drive (no cables) will I be able to install the drive on the free hard drive bay? Might be a stupid question, but this will be my first laptop and my first SSD drive so I can't picture in my mind how to install it after I open the laptop.

Edit: Also, will I need the 9.5mm drive adaptor?

Really? Without any undervolting or that kind of stuff? I'm looking at getting a G55 (I'm in college) and if this thing can get 3+ hours on light stuff like taking notes in class and such then it's a done deal for me.

2,5 hours you get with 670M, and 660M shines here with less demand for energy from batery. Awesome

Yes i did . Crucial M4 256g ssd. I made recovery discs with Asus utility . Put the ssd in the spare drive bay (no cables ) just plug it in. I took out the original hdd. Powered up and choose boot from dvd. Proceeded to install recovery discs onto new ssd which was recognized and then formatted with win 7.

Well i got my g75vw from bestbuy store yesterday and i just can't believe it, i got one 1 week ago, took it home and found out that battery is physically broken, so took it back, they didn't had any more of those, so order one for me, and got that yesterday, and found out that the cover on the bottom that was not fitted properly, the laptop is fantastic but asus has to be much more careful in assembly of the products too.
i did some benchmarking on the default settings, without running any updates for windows and drivers, and everything on stock. and it looks pretty good. i think after i installed SSD and did a clean install of windows 7 + updated drivers, i will be able to get a little better score, i wanna see before any OC that how much is the potential of this laptop @ stock settings.
one thing that i am curious about is that i also have windows 7 ultimate, so am i better off ultimate version if i wanna get good score or it doesn't matter?

It should not matter what version you are running of Windows 7 for your benchmarks. Here are the differences.

Well I did my benchmarks on windows 7 home premium, that is factory installed. But i installed SSD drive last night, and am going to install windows 7 ultimate edition today after work, and will do some benchmarking after updating windows and display drivers.
my only concern with the laptop is that, i have been using glass screens, and this matt screen is kinda grainy, don't know if its how a matt screen is supposed to be.
