Hey, I'm new here and I was hoping you guys could help me out. To be honest I haven't been keeping up to date with my drivers and I just bought battlefield 3 and to run it I need the latest GPU drivers (11.9), but when I try to install them they don't work at all. It ends up looking the same as if I have no drivers and CCC doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated.

Its a bug, already discussed here.. you have to use the AMD CATALYST PACKAGE (1.1MB or 0.9MB) and follow the process. DO NOT download the drivers yourself, use the AMD CATALYST PACKAGE to update

I still have the same problem though. My resolution caps at 1024x768, CCC doesn't work, and it looks like I have no drivers installed at all.

This is weird. I went to reinstall it to see what it would say under the device manager, and I got a new error that windows can't install unsigned drivers. When I restarted my computer I got an error message saying that I didn't have any AMD drivers installed, and under device manager instead of showing a 5730 it says "AMD Radeon HD 6570M/5700 Series" and the driver version is 8.892.0.0.

Finally figured out a solution, just in case anyone else finds themselves encountering the same problem what I ended up doing was using driver sweeper to make sure the old drivers were completely gone, then using the guide here: Have-Disk method for Windows 7 / Vista - LaptopVideo2Go Forums (skipping step 2), and it all worked out perfectly.

The truth is, my laptop had some problems with the bluetooth module since the beggining.
3 months ago it started with some kind of vibration on the center of the screen monitor, and this was noticed even on the start of the laptop (in the asus logo), so I took it to asus.
After they aparently repaired it, it came with a new HDD and bluetooth module, but the thing is, since it came it started with some new problems. First, and after I updated some drivers (bluetooth, WAN and LAN, ATI graphic), it started freezing randomly, sometimes even before the log in, So what I did was using the recovery DVDs I made when the laptop came from the repair on ASUS.
This time I was cerefull to update only the drivers I saw where stable (in this forum), and aparently the freezing stopped, but new problems arose.
I downloaded the catalyst pack (90mb+-) with 11.09 drivers, installed it, and tryed to play GTA 4 and BF3, but GTA4 was giving me always 22fps and having these little freezes whether it was on maximum setting or lowest setting. And Battlefield 3 didnt even start. (and yes I have uninstalled the ATI drivers before installing new ones)
Then I tryed the 11.10 ATI drivers but with no luck whatsoever. And I even started noticing the loading screens on GTA4 were taking like 20 times more the time it should to load completly.
I heard the there were new drivers for the laptop on asus site, so I have downloaded them and installed them, and suddenly eveything worked, BF3 lauched correctly, and GTA4 was giving me some nice fpc and no freezing. Though the loading screens were taking even longer then before.... =X

Unfortunetly, dont know what happened but yesterday I started the laptop and the OS did some kind of user interface rollback, so all the shortcuts on the desktop were gone and even the desktop wallpaper was set to the first one I ever saw on my very first run in this laptop.

I'm starting to think there is some driver I shouldnt install and that is giving me all this trouble but I dont know what it is.
Today I used the first recovery dvds (not the second ones I made ater the laptop came from the repair) to install everything new again, and untill now, no problems, but I havent installed any new drivers yet (not even the ATI ones).

And thats my story. I love asus, but this is just stupid. Until the problem in the screen (with the vibration of the image) and coming from the asus repair, it was working amazingly, so I really dont know whats going on.... its sad

Has anyone else noticed that with the 11.10/11.11 drivers installed, temps seem a little high? Running speedfan while gaming has shown my temps skyrocketing to about 200F. Almost certain prior drivers didn't have this problem.

I've tried this with all versions of 11.10 (betas 1-3 and the WHQLs) and now with 11.11 WHQLs. Each time with wipes using Driver Sweeper in safe mode prior to installs.

you can test it, there's no harm.
in Elantech 10.x version you can't move the mouse pointer while typing until a second has passed.
it pisses me off so much.

new things in version 10.x are the revamped control panel and assist videos, but its all there is

    Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my computer and I don't know if it is related with the drivers or not.
I cannot hear any sound from the speakers of my asus N61Jq but with the headphones yes.
I suppose is not a drivers issue since i can hear from the headphones. Did this happen to any of you already?

    Best Regards,
    João

Looks like ASUS updated where they're keeping the drivers, a bunch of dead links on the front page.

EDIT: Probably not changed, just down, I get dead links from ASUS.com too.

I have reisnatalled windows 7. Downloaded a legit copy from I forget where, not a torrent site though. I installed it and have been having head issues and a few blue screens and lock ups. I have pretty much downloaded all the files in this thread and have no clue what could be causing my heat problems. I got power4gear and even on quiet office or battery saving. The fan and heat is crazy coming from my laptop. Anyone have a suggestion for me to try. I have lost my recovery disk so that isn't an option for me.

    Cheers

What are your actual temps, HWmonitor or HWiNFO64 can tell you this. Also when was the last time you cleaned the heatsink with compressed gas?

I actually took it all appart and I was surprised how clean t was. I have a funny feeling it is the fan conrtoller. It was out of conrtol hot after I reinstalled windows. So I got power4gear. So that seemed to help some. I am kind of at a loss at what is causing it, because these symptons only appeared after a fresh install of windows (not using the long lost recovery disks). Maybe I forgot to update something crucial.

    Hey,

try first reading this forum thread.

If it doesnt work, just choose the most recent drivers from the first page. I dont think you should update the audio, nor the hotkeys or the touchpad. At least thats what I normally do.
