*OFFICIAL* M15x Benchmark Thread

Is that really fair? That score came from a 17' system with a bigger chassis and more cooling, right? I think these could reach 16,000 though.

 

It's basically the same thing as yours. I would bet the M15x runs cooler than the G73.

 

I got 16,700 or so last time I ran it with the preview drivers. Well maybe they can reach 17,000...

 

I want to see those scores too. I'd like to see the M15x beat the G73

 

This is where scook normally chimes in and says the M15x will not be able to keep up because you cannot OC the processor the same way as you can in the G73.

 

Who ever beats my score with a M15x can win this from me:

baww, with the new nvidia's driver I was running OC-ed at 700/1150/1650 great trough the first half of 3dmark06, then it crashed or something, temp were alright though..
So now my GPU is acting up, running at 350/350/700 >.>
in the meanwhile I got this about a week ago:
I know it doesnt have all the cpu z and all, but as I said, my gpu isn't working properly anymore. I'll post a new one with all the requirement soon!

You are getting closer, but you still should have the top vantage GPU and vantage CPU scores individaully.

Right now, it looks like I am being beaten but my GPU score is better.

See what I mean.

So 1 category for each CPU score and GPU score, then 1 category for overall (ie "P" score in Vantage, etc).

 

Hey Mandrake, can you tell me which driver you were running for the ATI card? mine just horribly crashed when attempting to OC :/

I still need about 2.5k to reach your score :/. This is probably going to be a long shot

Good point. I'll put those at the very top. I'll start with top 5, and then move to top 10 if need be. Should be able to add it in this evening.

 

Here you go, I can go a higher than this, but it is 100% stable with these settings ( 675/1150/1600 ). That will grant me of the first place with the 260M for a little while 8D

 

This is my attempt. I cannot go any further than 900/1130 without doing any GPU Bios flashes (which I wont be doing anytime soon).

It doesnt seem possible to beat Mandrakes score without overclocking the CPU, which we cant do

 

The M15x doesn't have the same OC capabilities as the M17x?

it doesnt have any overclocking capabilities . Its a shame because the CPU cooling could handle it easily

I'll keep the contest going for anyone who wants to keep trying but I may have to open this up to the Asus crowd. Only problem is there are more users of the 920 with Alienware than Asus.

 

I managed to beat your GFX scores with the help of throttlestop. Might not be due to throttlestop but here is my new score.

And yes, all I can change is the Turbo Mode multiplier.

Unfortunately I dont have the time to play around and try different optimizations. Im happy with the score I got. If Alienware ever releases an updated bios with OC (probably will never happen), then Ill give it another shot.

 

Scores updated, and score board fine tuned. Let me know your thoughts.

I don't rest on my laurels as kronigles somehow benched crazy numbers at stock clocks. ??

 

I downclocked the gpu asap when the benchmark was done.

 

I was wondering myself, kroniqles, what were your GPU clocks? Does the newer version of GPU-Z show actual clocks?

Next time be sure to get the screen shot with the OCed gpu in it to verify the clock settings, otherwise it will be omitted.

10777 CPU for a 720?

Seems a little high as well and I know you can't OC that. lol

 

My clocks were core 910, memory 1120, I took the screen shot after I downclock.

 

No problem.

I was just curious about the CPU score. Most scores I have seen for the 720 bench the same as the 620.

The 820 gets 11k, which is closer to your score.
