M15x Order Status Discussion

My Alienware arrived already !
Ordered on the 26th of October.. Arrived yesterday the 1st of November while I was enjoying the good weather in Spain. So when I came home today there was a nice package waiting for me! Can't complain!

 

My alienware is finally on the truck in route as of 9:20 a.m. , two trucks that were white already tricked me...they would come down this street today. Every minutete goes by and I just get ancier and ancier ( hope I spelt it right, probly not.

 

I ordered mine on the 27th and it's still showing in production. Build phase is the phase I get when I call the customer service line. How come people who ordered a day before me are already getting their machines? Booo! I mean great for them but not for me!

 

It has been a long time since I felt that 14 days appears to be about 3 months in waiting. ...just a couple more days.

 

Im posting right now from my Alienware M15x. I had it since 12:30 when they delivered it and let me be another to say...It was way worth the price, this thing is superbly amazing.

Its fning huge, I kinda felt sorry for the lil lady caring it...The keyboard is one of the best ive seen. ive been on it for hours setting everything up and i still have file transfers todo

 

I ordered 10/24 and it's been in delivery preparation for about 2 days, what does that mean exactly?




Never mind i received it today while i was in school, good thing my brother was home lol

 

damnit 3 days in "Delivery Preparation" stage and still no change!!!

 

Might be because I live in another country

Received it 2 days ago Was a pretty nice surprise. Dell were only slightly out with the estimation. I would have got it even sooner if the terrorists didn't try and blow up the UPS planes (mines was at East Midlands airport when they found the packages, luckily one wasn't my M15x )

Got to say it's worth the money, such an awesome machine, wasn't expecting it to be quite as big, but damn it looks good!

Just checked the website, EDD has now moved from 2/12/10 to 10/11/10. Looks like my machine is coming next Wednesday. Can't wait.

 

Mine has an EDD of 11/5 (tomorrow), but it is still in Production status. (sigh) Not gonna get it tomorrow for sure. Crap... and I cleared my calendar for the weekend.

 

I ordered mine on the 27th of Oct and I'm still in production - build phase.

 

I ordered on Oct 24th, EDD was Nov 5th, now it is Nov 12.

 

Ordered mine on Oct. 27th. EDD of 11/15/10. Says "in production" for several days now. Ordered the Lunar Shadow case. When I looked at Dell's site, it now says that if you order that case it may cause shipping delay (didn't say that when I ordered). Wondering if some of the others of you with delays ordered the Lunar Shadow case.

 

I ordered the shadow case, too. Maybe that is causing my delay, too.

Interesting thought on the Shadow case... that's also what I ordered...

 

I called Dell yesterday to check and see if it was possible that the Lunar Shadow case was delaying my order. The rep says that they do have a possible delay in the new orders with the Shadow case, but that mine shouldn't be affected because I ordered before the delay (10/27). He said mine should ship out tomorrow (11/9). Still showing "in production" this morning. Hopefully will ship tomorrow. We'll see.

 

Just checked the website, its now with the Local Courier.

Tomorrow is looking good.

Better make sure I'm at my desk all day, as its being delivered to work.

Hope the wait and anticipation have been worth while.

sold away my previous m15x with gtx 260m gpu and ordered a brand new 1 yesterday below are the specs in my siggy ^^

 

i also ordered the lunar shadow case... i was supposed to get it tomorrow but it's still in production - build status. I talked with a rep and he said that there is an "unexpected delay" (wouldn't tell me what it was that was delaying) and it won't ship til next week. This really sucks because I took this week off (I start my new job next week instead of this week) because I was hoping to receive my laptop that I need for my job ... Now I don't know what I'm going to do.. I'll probably just have to take an old dusty netbook for the first 2 days or something since they said that it won't ship til Tuesday 11/16... the strange thing is on the website it still says that I'll get it tomorrow, but nothing on the website seems like it's updated.....

 

those reps have no idea what they're talking about. the rep i talked to yesterday said that mine was already OUT of production and in delivery preparation, but the "carrier" hadn't been chosen yet.. today i call to make sure it's shipping and they tell me there's an unexpected delay in production... so he flat out lied to me.

 

Well, was supposed to ship yesterday. Got the dreaded "order delayed" email this morning. Ship date moved out another week. Arggh! Though not confirmed by Dell, still think its due to the Lunar Shadow case.

 

Crap, I hope I don't get that email today.

 

i've confirmed it's the lunar shadow case... some customer care rep called me today and told me that the color I ordered is "very unique" .. ?

anyhow, mine's delayed til next week. i ordered on 10/27 and was supposed to have received it today.

 

It is not that unique, quite a few of us here are waiting on that color. (sigh)

 

First post. Ordered through the Outlet on 11/05/10. Received it today. Very pleased so far with the purchase.

This forum was great help when I needed to know what hardware I should order. Just wanted to say thanks!

Got a call today, too. They told me my laptop would be delayed and wouldn't give me an estimated date yet. Said it should be next week. They did say it was *not* due to the Lunar Shadow color.

 

hey guys, i just placed an order for my new M15x yesterday. I live in Singapore.
Did anyone order from Dell before, being in South-East Asia? Maybe i can get some replies regarding delivery timings

I can't believe this. I was just called by Dell and told that the laptop would be delayed another week. So, my EDD went from Nov 5, to Nov 12, to Nov 22! I am trying to find out the problem parts that are delaying it.

 

Good luck on finding any details. I've spent almost an hour on phone with Dell 3 days ago. Spoke with 4 different people. None of them could (or would) give me any more information than the automated phone line. "In Production" is all I can get. Good customer service could ease my mind about such an expensive purchase and the repeated delays, but they just don't seem interested in that. Not a good start to my experience with Dell/Alienware.

Although I only ordered last Thurday I rang Dell to see if they would change some components without having to cancel the order completely. I spoke to a helpful advisor. Basically they have a backlog on all three laptop models at the moment averaging two weeks. If you have applied through credit you could be waiting for up to a week just for their finance team to process it. By the sounds of it they are also running low on some components, although he didn't say outright I suspect it is the processors probably the i7 quads. I live in the UK, no idea how this will affect orders outside of here but it is probably a similar situation.

 

Oh and a tip on how to get through to an advisor quickly on their customer services line, in your helpline selection hit 'new product information and purchase' usually #1. It's amazing how fast they answer that one

 

Sorry to say that I got a call from Alienware this morning stating that there was more delay. Would not tell me why there was a delay. Finally fed up enough so asked them to cancel the order. Will likely go with ASUS. Good luck to you all.

 

This is really concerning. I am seriously considering canceling and ordering a different laptop. Maybe a Sagar, but I will talk to them one more time and see how they handle my situation.

 

I ordered Oct 29 and am now being told the estimated delivery date is Dec 13th (original date was Nov 15)! A month and a half to get a computer?! ...is the case being sculpted by hand from a block stone!

I too am considering cancelling...a Sager with the new 470m is looking tempting...

I hope because I chose Nebula Red it won't be delayed. Let's hope not!

perhaps im more of a lucky guy here. I ordered on Nov 11, when process was done, it said it will be delivered by Nov 30 or earlier. 2 days later, EDD showed Dec 6. Now its Nov 22, current status being Ship from factory. I hope there will be no further delay

 

after having an original EDD of 11/10 my order has been delayed twice now.
Revised EDD (first delay) 11/17
Revised EDD (second delay) 11/24

If I get delayed again I will be cancelling. I have a little patience, but it's running out really soon. I was supposed to have this machine as a desktop replacement and one that I can use for work as well (consulting IT).. well I started my new job yesterday and I have to use a netbook until I get this laptop.. my eyes are tearing up due to having to stare at this tiny little screen... grr.... they won't even tell me what's causing the delay and if it's 100% that my order will even arrive on the 24th.... sigh.

 

I talked to a manager yesterday and they said it was due to some suppliers. Again no details. I suppose I don't expect them to give details. I did tell them I am worried that this is the first impression I have of dealing with the Alienware branch of Dell. Is this what it is going to be like if I ever need it serviced?
I would imagine that some of this is us going up against Black Friday orders or companies getting BF equipment into stores.
I am now going up the ladder in sales support to see what is going on.
I am trying hard to hold on to my patience for this, too. Depends on what I hear next.

 

I got a call after I found out that my order was delayed and they told me that it was definitely the case and that the "dell manufacturing plant" was supposed to receive the shipment of lunar shadow cases on 11/23 .. my revised EDD is 11/24 so if he's really telling the truth then I have a bad feeling that mine won't ship out on 11/23 since thats the same day they get the parts in... who knows if this is the real truth though... no one else has gotten real details so I have no idea why he would give me this info out of the blue like that...

 

Yea, I was told that it wasn't the lunar case. Really hard to tell what is slowing it down.

 

im just wondering, when you check the order status for your EDD, what does it say about Delivery Status? is it being delayed while the Status is still, lets say, in "Work in Progress" ?

 

I ordered mine on the 8th and I customized the snot out of it and it was delivered today 9 days later.

 

Would you mind stating what the color was, black, lunar, or red?
