ty mr.moo. :D still waiting for the 4th!

Update: Currently using the 180.42 ltv2g video driver as it seems to keep my temps the lowest (53c)

Still waiting on an update whether or not there are more current versions of the video drivers then 180.70.

I am having serious discrepancies between Rivatuner and Thermofan too... The trouble is that the GPU fan is obviously set to run only when the Thermofan reading reaches 85 degrees, which, by the time that occurs, means the GPU internal temp is over 100 degrees according to Rivatuner.

This seems to me like it is significantly in the danger zone!

I am running the X36 bios, and I don't understand this at all...

I've been trying to download the bundles for like the 10th time now and it never completes. It stops around 10mb everytime I try to download.

Please fix this because I really need your bundle.

Sorry, I'll be doing some server maintenance <del>over the weekend to resolve the issue</del> soon.

Edit: Looks good to go. You should be able to download files off of the server now.

Ok thanks a lot man. It seems to be downloading right now.

Do you have like an install order for me to follow by any chance? I'm trying to make it work with Windows 7 64-bit. I got the 2.8 Ghz Core 2 Duo, 4GB Ram and an 8800M GTX.

Thanks for the great work on this topic by the way.

EDIT: Okay so I finished the download and started installing. I think that I've got everything working except for the Light effects for the keyboard. For some reason right after I installed the Command Center it shut off my lights and I can't seem to turn 'em back on. Any suggestions?

EDIT2: Never mind figured it out! Man, Alienware is so tricky! This driver bundle is a stroke of genius. Every software and hardware component is currently running as it should and my Vista score is very nice!

I'm quite positive Windows Update for Windows 7 will be able to find most (if not all) of the necessary drivers for your m15x. The only thing it doesn't find is the Alienware Command Center-- and that in itself is (as far as I know) not fully compatible with Windows 7. I would instead use Findvika's color wheel instead on Windows 7 or change the keyboard colors using the Command Center from a different OS on a different partition.

I got the command center working perfectly now except for fusion (what is that anyway), but I only have one annoying little problem now.

The touch pad. For some reason it always turns itself off, even when I uncheck the box in the command center. When I reboot, its off and using the FN function just turns the light on.

Yeah even so, it still de-activates itself constantly. Its pretty annoying.

Anyway, its cool. I decided to just remove synaptics as a whole. It sucks pretty bad actually cuz I also realized that it slowed down my typing.

Don' know if you are aware of this but the intel graphics driver for vista x64 link is broken from your condensed list and the chipset driver is outdated.

    Double post.

    Updates:

+ Updated Integrated Graphics Driver for Vista x64 (External Link).
+ Updated external link for the Vista Integrated Graphics Driver.
These updates are reflected in both the expanded and the condensed versions of the mini-MyHive.

Every time I try and apply the thermofan update is just says "installation unsuccessful. Please verify the user has administrative access". I have re-installed OSD several times, still doesn't let me install thermo fan update. I've tried restarting, and I've tried right clicking and running as administrator too. Nothing works.

I guess you're running on Vista, so right click the file and choose "Run as Administrator". I hope that helps.

Also I would like to ask Oceanus to place some drivers for the wireless adapter. I know they are optional, but anyway. Thanks!

Updated OSD drivers at Mr. Moo's request. The OSD drivers for both Windows XP and Windows Vista (x32) have now been updated to version 00025. The driver bundles currently do not include this update so anyone looking to update their OSD drivers to this version will have to download and then install it separately.

Oceanus, when I run ThermoFan I don't get a Fan1 or Fan2 reading (just has 0). Also, the "Fan Number" menu item is disabled so I don't have any control over the fan speed (the 2 things are probably related). Do you have any suggestions?

I have v36 of the BIOS & am strongly considering downgrading to v34 b/c I cannot stand how the fans run constantly. I don't use the laptop for gaming (I know, sorry) & really don't ever stress the system in any way so, unless you feel differently, I'm not worried about the fans not running constantly.

Any ideas/help you have (or anyone else!) is greatly appreciated. I really love this laptop but have to figure out how to quiet this sucker! I have a Core 2 Duo P9500 & an ATI 3850 video card.

I am having problems changing between the dedicated graphics card in the internal one. I have the m15x with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the OSD and then when i go the press FN + F7 it says that the system needs to reboot and then the changes will take affect. The problem is that it does not reboot like when I had Vista installed. Also the script that was given the help with the change seems to have an error. It might jsut be be me not doing it correctly but when I try to run it the error comes up and just stops.

I believe OSD should be installed before any of the Video Drivers otherwise you will not be able to switch out of your various display videocard options.

OK sorry, I didn't mean to step on any toes i was just speaking from personal experience. I didn't install OSD until after the 2 video card drivers were installed and I was unable to utilize fn+f7. To resolve this problem/situation I had to remove my Cmos battery. :p and also the OSD listed on the windows 7 (Alienware Forums) is out dated as I had to go with OSD from MyHive, so you might want to fix that too if you work over there.

No offense taken. :) Although I cannot see how you managed to install both drivers beforehand. When I tried this it always returns an error when installing the inactive video card driver.

no, you first install the nvidia, then you turn on your pc holding down right mouse button that forces the intel card. And then you get stuck on INtel.

Hi -- does anybody know of a way to slow down the CPU fan even after downgrading the BIOS to x32? Even when doing light surfing, the fan usually kicks on after about 3 minutes.

Hi guys. I have a major problem with my new m15x (yeah m15x not M15x).

    AlienFX does not work.

I tried to activate it under Win7 x86 / Win7 x64 / Win XP x86 (don't have Win Vista here) but everytime it tells me that the connection to the controller failed.

I installed all drivers in the correct order.

I have tried to shut it down. Remove the AC and batteries. Press start button. Reconnect it and boot it up.

I tried to uninstall all USB-Devices and reboot.

I followed the instructions in this thread, but still NO lights. :(

    Any tipps?
