Enb series mods use a d3d9 file that isnt recognised by optimus which reverts the game using the intel card with that mod on. You cant add it to nvidia control panel as its not a executible file.

I guess what he was saying that force the SKSE_Loader.exe to use GT555 instead of normal intergreted card. I tried it and it seems to work fine for me with the mods was posted in previous page.

that works with skse mods but enb series isnt a skse mod. But thanks for the tip anyway :D

Btw has anyone tried the full version of this mod? Skyrim HD - 2K Textures at Skyrim Nexus - Skyrim Mods and community

I think the full might be to much for the 555 so am downloading the lite version and will see how it goes.

    No probs,

Once its downloaded you jsut run the .exe file and follow the onscreen instructions, the installer does the rest :)

i have been playing around with things for temps, im getting some cores going up to 91-92 on skyrim but its only ever now and then most of the time sits in the mid 80's

but if you have a look at this post i made

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...d-power-profile-reduce-heat-while-gaming.html

i have been able tog et the temps down to about mid 70's using a cooling pad

Has anyone "updated" to 1.4 yet?

My Steam is set to "NO BETA TESTING PLEASE!", however I think it was downloaded anyway as I seem to experience issues that others have reported with 1.4, such as a screen flicker (like a 1/4 second "lightning" effect) and CTDs (very similar to 2Gb mem limit before 1.3).

    Anyone?

Guys, some help please I have the steam version and all was running fine with a few mods for weeks. I haven't changed anything but as off Monday night I have not been able to launch the game - thro skse as normal or through steam directly. It comes up with error 51. I have done the standard google search and followed a few 'fixes' such as verifying cache, reinstalling. I have even gone as far to wipe my 122 hours (sob) of gameplay and still I cannot launch my favorite game and pastime - please, please help if anyone else has this issue and fixed it. Many thanks in advance.

    Ash

Baboon - Most of the mods should work ok, except the ones that require SKSE, you will have to wait for the guys to update SKSE to the new 1.4 patch then they will continue to work (ie SKY UI)

M11Ash - Never had that issue :|....were you taking part in the BETA release of 1.4 patch? i cant launch through SKSE at the moment because 1.4 patch has gone live and SKSE needs to be updated to a new version to run, however i was still able to launch normal with mods that didnt require skse.

the other options are to delete your TESV.exe and run a data integrity check. or try this that people have said work

"Windows 7 so I dicided to do the Troubleshoot thing on the Skyrim Launcher in the Skyrim folder and then it worked."

Yeah tried both last night, I still cant boot into the game - same error on steam after upgrading Skse it comes up with a different error 203350 or something similar. Rubbish :(

    Thanks anyway D3ath, Rep+

Have you tried removing all your mods and just running the base version?

also you could try doing a system restore to a previous date where you no it worked, then just download the update again and see if that helps.

Did you install the Nexus Mod Manager? Because If you didnt then I dont think there would be any way to know outside game. If you havent install, then do it now because that program arrange your mod and it will check for update on everytime you run it and it will help you to get new update and auto install should a mod has an update.

And it will also alert you if a mod is outdated or not working by display an exclamation mark next to the version of the mod.

Guys Skyrim is 33% off on Steam Pick it up! They have also released the High Resolution texture pack through DLC, its 3GB large but runs and looks better than the 2K HD Texture pack from nexus. TBH I have never spent this long on a single game Oblivion was the longest at 103 hours. I'm at 138 on Skyrim now.

110 hours in, first major bug encountered! Yay!

My A & D keys don't work for strafing, even though they are mapped to do so.
They work fine for menus (equip, spells, etc) but not for strafing.

I thought maybe it was the keys themselves, but they work fine for other apps.

    Anyone encountered this yet?

I encounter this since I first play the game -.-, and tbh I've been encounter many many bugs such as the Giant bug where he'll throw you like ragdoll when he hit you :) and the weird death animation. But this is not the longest game I ever play though, my current longest is 132-ish hours in TF2 :p , unless I keep play to break the record, :D .

From your reply, I assume there is is no way around this?
This is the first major bug I encountered.

The giants thing was so awesome I never considrered it was a bug. At first.

I was something like lvl 2. Leaving Whiterun I spotted the mammoth head marker on the compass, so I headed that way. This led me to 2-3 mammoths and 2 giants. I go into sneak (lvl 30ish) mode and take out my little wooden bow (the one found in the tutorial cave, where you need to kill the bear) and iron arrows. I crawl through the grass to get a better shot. The giants don't see me. I shoot a mammoth and the giants make a b-line for my location. I get up and run, they catch up to me and with one swing of a club I go flying up into the stratosphere -"I CAN FLY!!!" and fall back down to my death.
This was so hilarious, and before I read it was a bug, I just thought I underestimated my foes.

Also, my longest run was Final Fantasy VII. 400+ hours over 2 playthroughs back to back. :)
Skyrim is probably my second longest run ever.

Lol, for me when I first encounter that Giant bug, it caught me by surprise I have no idea that that bug exist, so I just charge in with my sword then before I can get a swing on him, I already mid way to the moon :D , and I think that bug is still on, after the patch because I test that about few hours ago, I still mid way to the moon when I got that hit.

Hi guys, i recently bought Skyrim and it looks awesome on the m14x :D

Unfortunately I tried to install SKSE for the SkyUI mod but it seems that when i start the game with the skse launcher it reverts the game to the onboard intel card. I already tried to force the SKSE launcher to use the GT555 on the nvidia control panel but it doesn't change anything T_T
I'm using the 295.18 driver for the GT555.
Please i hope someone could help me i really would like to enjoy the SkyUI mod ^^

That's weird, because I also use the SKSE for the SkyUI, however instead of manually install, I use the Nexus Mod Manager to do it for me, and run the SKSE through the manager itself, but I do also whitelist both to NVIDIA Control Panel, the driver I use is 290.36.

    I had the same issue.

Go into the Nvidia control panel (should be down bottom right of task bar)
    Go into 'Manage 3d settings'
Then go to the 'Program setup' tab and click the 'Add' button

Then navigate to the skse_loader.exe and select it.

Then change the settings for that to 'High Performance' in the drop down under heading 2.

This should fix it up for you :)

I already tried to whitelist the game through nvidia control panel but nothing change.
Could it be a problem of my nvidia driver ( 295.18 ) ?

    Anyway thanks for your advices.

    I get a drop of 10 FPS with 295.73, from 30-40 to 20-30.

Could it be because of the reset of the graphic settings that brings AA back to 8x (from my setting of "none")?

I also had low fps upon changing drivers. What i did was redo my whitelists and turned off ambient occlusion then revert to your previous settings before the update. Now i'm getting ~+10 more frame-rates.

Hmmmm... is it weird that i'm getting around 8 fps on ultra and 14 on medium and I know its using the GT 555m card?

I mean the processor doesn't seem to even notice but the graphics card shoots to about 100%.

I Also couldn't overclock as every time I tried to set the settings and clicked apply they just reverted back...

    And im using 295.73

Try going down to a 280 driver. I hear the newer drivers can have problems sometimes. Also when you use the 555M card, the launcher will say intel HD, and when you use the IGP, it will say 555M. Its very weird.

A good way to test to be positive is to run it with an HDMI cord plugged in. It forces the system to use the 555M. If you are still having problems you could have a faulty system

I know it is because when I tab out of the game the little box to see gpu activity says that tesv.exe is running. Whether that's reliable or not I don't know you'd be a better judge than me. That fps was in 1600 x 900 lower resolutions work much better.

Aha! actually it seems the nvidia card only runs with the power cord in... Anyway to fix this?

Check your power settings. Running the 555m on battery is useless anyways because it will be under-clocked. Your should game on ac unless its an old or low end game where the integrated chip would suffice. The m11x games good on battery so if that's what you want you should consider switching.

Well you can try revert to A01 BIOS because any BIOS version after A01 will auto underclock the NVIDIA GPU, but like singkuy said the battery cannot hold the power hungry NVIDIA GPU, you will only able to play most game for less than an hour before the battery run flat.

    Hello all!

Does anyone know how to avoid screen tearing in TEV?

I use the default high settings, which are recommended by the new driver (295.73).
The gpu is overclocked to 750/1500/1000

    my specs are: i7-2670qm
    3gb gt555m
    6gb RAM
    750 gb HDD
    900p screen

    Thx for input!

    Thanks

Ok, i solved the problem by turnig triple buffer and Vsync on in Nvidia control panel. :)

The game is now running very smooth accept in some areas which are probably poor coded or something.

wow you figured that out all by yourself! jk put shadows on low or medium, AA off, AFx4 on skyrim and nvidia control panel and you should be able to run the game fine anywhere. I dont go below 30 fps with those settings with everything else maxed and no OC.

Hey all, this is my first post by the way.
I have an m14x (specs in signature) and recently downloaded the new 296.10 driver. Unfortunately my fps dropped to about 10 so I decided to switch back to 285.62.
I tried just about everything and nothing seemed to work.
I'm crossing my fingers that someone has a solution :D
