I live in Ontario Canada and I just ordered my laptop today on the 10th. They say the estimated shipping day is on the 30th. Doesn't that seem like a long time? my current laptop is falling apart. Does anyone think it will come before the 30th?

I ordered mine on the 9th, I'm also in Ontario and the estimated shipping date is the 24th, so considerably less.

It will definately come before then, Dell overestimates like crazy!!! They did ship my M14x from jersey and I live in NY, had no idea they had a factory in Jersey, got lucky!!!

Btw, I'm pretty happy I didn't go w the Macbook Pro right about now, this laptop is insane!!!

I got the M14x ordered last saturday , the specs are the standard i5 specs except for these 3 changes
    1600x900 screen
    3gb Nvidia GT555M
I live in Singapore and my laptop is currently in Production since today when i checked in the morning. Does anyone know the shipping time to here? The guy at the Alienware Store told me about 2 weeks and EDD is 25/11/11 . Will it come quicker? I saw quite a number of posts here and it came quicker hopefully it'll come quickly to me aswell =)

Ok so i've been lurking the website for a while and after getting the best specs for my laptop i finally ordered it the 9, I got the i7 processor after the stock one, The 900p screen and Upgraded wireless . It came out to 1300 with student discount (lol) And finally got shipped the 14 ! :D i'm really excited to get it and should tommorow or the 18th. The funny thing is that somehow the money that i paid got refunded to my account and i called Dell (Without telling them about the money) and they told me the laptop was on its way to my home (Already shipped) So.. do i get a free laptop?

I spent a good two months searching high and low for the right laptops. I've looked at everything from sagers, t420, and samsung series 7. I've looked at too many notebookcheck reviews, forum posts, youtube review videos to count. However, I couldn't pass up a $300+ savings on what I hope to be a great deal. What I wanted was a laptop that I wouldn't regret buying. I will definitely post a trip report once I receive it.

    @ Cptnhealbott

in south east asia, most of the dell products are basically shipped off to other countries from singapore. so you will get it before the two week ETD. besides dell loves to overestimate the ETD. i guess they just want people to wait like crazy for this beast :)

My estimated delivery date on Dell says Dec. 6th but the FedEx estimated time says Dec. 2nd. When should I expect the arrival of my M14x because if it is the 2nd then I would be really happy! :D

Nice, looks like you got it fully loaded, enjoy it, also I think the upgraded shipping is a gimmick, because according to fed ex tracker they revived my shipment on Friday and I received it a day later on Saturday and i have the free 7 day shipping, I wasn't complaining, lol

If the laptop is in stock with the Dell in your respective country, you will most probably get in within 10 business days. Incase you opt for modifications, upgrades , then add 7-10 more days because then. machine is assembled according to your choice and then shipped. All resulting in delay.
Whereas stock machine would be at your doorstep earlier.

I ordered mine on Monday afternoon (5th December). M14x, i7 2670QM, 8GB RAM, HD+ screen, Killer Wireless in Nebula Red :) Got an e-mail this morning to say it had been despatched, and UPS will deliver by Friday 9th December.

UPS tracking says it has left Shanghai now, so all looks good, and will be extremely impressed if it is at my door on Friday

I think that is already a prepared quote by the rep. They email a copy of the quote so you can check if the components are right. You can also see something similar in your account once you've ordered your unit.

Received mine yesterday! Ordered on December 1st 2011

It's a beauty! First thing I did was install a 512GB Crucial M4 SSD and 16GB overkill Ram haha (cheaper that way cos Dell charge and arm and a leg for SSD and extra RAM)

Did a clean install and it works perfectly and my gosh the boot time is soooo fast!

The boot time and shutdown times really impress me on these laptops once the SSD is installed. Every time I shut down I always get the 'Waiting for applications to close' screen briefly because it's too quick for its own good!

The price is around 1600 WITH TAX. I will call for a better deal from the reps but can you guys please answer a few questions in the meantime? Thanks in advance.

THIS IS NOT FOR ME. ITS FOR MY COUSIN :)

    1) Is there anything I should change? Or Should I wait for a M14x R2 ?

    2) I am planning on buying an SSD, which one is better NEW CRUCIAL M4 512GB 2.5" SSD 6Gb/s SOLID STATE DRIVE .... OR ....Kingston HyperX 240GB 2.5" SATA3 (6Gb/s) SSD

    3) I am also planning on upgrading the ram, can you please link which one i should get and from where?

    4) Also the Intel® Core™ i5 2430M 2.4GHz (3.0GHz with Turbo Boost, 3MB Cache), is a cheaper option? IS there anything
wrong if he goes with this? Will this decrease performance in any way?

    Thanks for the help fellas.

    Regards,
    Gogeta

Just received my refurb M14x today. Less than 3 hours later, the unit would not boot. I couldn't even get to the boot manager. When I did, each button input had 2 minutes of lag. So instead of mailing it out for repair, I asked for a refund. Do the sales reps let you haggle when purchasing a new one?

Don't see why not. When I ordered mine I told them I had problems on the Internet so they gave me a reduced price, free 3 years LoJack software and 1 year accident insurance.

Wow, that's an excellent deal. I just got off the phone with them and my only options were to pay for a new unit UPFRONT with free next day shipping after it is built while waiting 2 weeks for a refund, or wait 2 weeks for a refund and shop around. If I'm paying upfront for a new unit, I might as well shop all brands, not just Alienware. Besides the free next day shipping, they offered no incentive to purchase another M14x right then and there. So this may be my last post in this section of the site. Depends on what's available in 14"/15" laptops for $1500.

I'm in. Just recieved a NEW M14x from HIDEvolutions. I know some have had issues with them, but I ordered a product they had in stock, with no modifications. I also ordered it through Ebay, so there are greater ramifications if they try to screw me over. Wifey thinks it looks like something for a 18 year old, I love it.

just ordered my m14x this morning from the outlet using a 20% coupon and estimated delivery date is on the 16th. SO EXCITED!!

i opted for the i5 version though and i hope my decision will not hurt me in the long run by not going with the i7. total it cost me $897 with the better resolution 750gb hd 6gb ram and the 3gb gt 555m.

    Hey guys

when i ordered my m14x, i set my shipping address as my work because i know i wont be home during the day to pick it up, turns out, it shipped friday and is supposed to get to me on either monday or tuesday:

    Dell says :1/17
    FedEx says :1/16

strangely, i have tuesday off and i would not like to go in to work to pick it up, my question is this:

i ordered Overnight shipping, so does that mean it is coming monday?

I tried FED EX support, no use, they are completely stupid over there, so i thought i would come here wher ei know there are smart minds haha

    -thanks!
    Papa

I had to order my M14x over a course of about 2 months (Oct 27 - Dec 20) for them to actually confirm that I am a real person and that I exist. Now that its finally here, I got BSoD as soon as I turned it on. After a couple of hours I fixed it, and just yesterday morning I started my laptop and the resolution shifted and does not let me set it higher than 1024 x 768. If that's not bad enough it also completely ignores my Ethernet Cable, so I have to use ty Wi-Fi that is 30 meters away.

    Incompetence level: Dell
