M14x Order Status Discussion

I ordered mine on 9/2 with estimated arrival date of 28th and got it today.

 

Fed Ex was going to leave mine at my apartment door, but the neighbor came by and offered to hold it for safety, so I came home to a door slip with her number on it.

 

Did your order status change to "shipped" before you received it? Its been almost a week and they still haven't shipped mine.

Got iiiiiiitttttttt!!!!!!! They didn't even send the tracking number by email until today. Also got a package of shirts that was lost in the mail for over a month. Today was a nice change of pace from the usual BS.

 

Nice! In response to your previous question, I got the laptop and received notice of it shipping 4 days later with delivery date of 2 days after that. Their shipping communication is a little odd.

Ordered from Dell.ca, the original delivery date was the 20th, I hope they don't push it back any further!!!

 

Just ordered mine today. I hope this thing will play "WOW". I Dont know alot about computers, I got the basic one for 1200. Says I'll get it on the 5th of OCT. This is going to be the first laptop I've owned.

 

*UPDATE* So, I had previously signed up for the email update when my M14x shipped. I just looked this morning and it shipped on 9/17 (no email update) and the fedex tracking # says delivery date of 9/21. So, I guess since it's 5 days ahead of schedule I won't be too *upset* about not getting the email notification!

...Can't wait to get it!

Thanks for the response. I honestly think the 2720qm is overkill I never see over 15% cpu usage
in simple multitasking. I think I will try to push it to see what I can get away with. The only factors that seem important is the gpu and your wireless connection. I am a bit skeptical about carrying my baby around everywhere(work, school and friend's homes.) I hope it can remain good looking after all the lugging around until I secure my own place.

 

Im a first time alienware buyer and im a little scared...

Im buying an M14x and made the order on 15/9/11 with an expected delivery of 30/9/11 but that changed the next day when i got an email saying it was in production and the date for delivery changed too 21/9/11 between 9am and 6pm.

My delivery still says its coming tomorrow 21/9/11 but im starting to wonder if it will get here now. It has been sent all over the world and spent more time in germany than the actual german people. Iv added a picture if it shows up. Is that delivery movement normal??

im just a little worried, as id understand it being built in china then stopping off in germany before reaching the uk. But in one day its been in and out of germany 3 times which is wierd

 

I agree with you but I have seen it before with the same concern. But it did arrive ok each time.

 

Tracking data isn't always reliable, especially while things are in transit.

 

Paperwork is going back and forth, the package itself is only going once.

 

Hi all! Looking around I noticed that many people who ordered on the same day as me had their m14xs shipped already. Mine still says it's in production. Why do you think that is? I would have liked to have gotten it before the weekend...

 

Wow! I ordered mine last week Thursday at 9pm and it was delivered today Wednesday after an attempted delivery yesterday! This means it took 5 days!!! It still says in production on website Just FYI.

Now to try it out!

I am in Southeast Wisconsin and it shipped from Chicago. It came Fedex.

 

Did you have 7 day shipping or something else? Sorry for all the questions but I'm really excited as I'm sure you can relate. Congrats on getting yours, hope you are enjoying!

EDIT- And from chicago is strange. I thought it came from China? Did you get a refurbished one or something?

 

Don't worry, look at mine - 3 days delivery, today it should arrive.
Also it doesn't actually go to Germany unless it says 'arrived' at Germany, the reason why you see it in germany is because they clear it for shipment and stuff (with the paperwork being done at Germany) whilst its in other countries

 

Nope, got a custom build. I only went with the 7 day delivery but they upgraded it I guess. I did get the free Xbox (for being a student).

I hope yours came today! They gave me an email today that they shipped it.

 

Still nothing today. Crossing my fingers for tomorrow so I can have it for the weekend!

I am really excited, however this goes hand in hand of how impatient this makes me.

Ordered it yesterday (September 28th), ironically they shipped the sleeve last night, got an email and I was so excited only to find out it was JUST the sleeve.

EED is October 14th, I hope hope hope it comes sooner!!!

EDIT: I will be conducting a detailed review on this laptop, being a solely mac owner (for laptops), I think it will be interesting to see the differences.

 

My order was just "Cancelled" and now I am on hold, waiting to talk to some guy from India who barely speaks english.... here we go.

I just got my Refurb unit in the mail today.
Or rather, I got an M14x in the mail, but it's not the M14x that I ordered.
I ordered the 14HD+ display (1600x900) and recieved a 1366x768 display instead.
Awesome.
Hopefully I can get a replacement before I have to start traveling.

would you mind telling me what they had planned for your unit to arrive? and what shipment options you chose.. that is a great!! turnaround.. i think when I ordered my xps 1530 they got it to me within a week cause I complained

 

Estimated arrival date was 10/11, and I just used the standard free 7-day shipping or whatever it was.

I got pretty lucky with mine, got free 3 day shipping, it was suppose to take two weeks to build but took two days. The facility where they shipped from was only 4 hours from my house so I had it in three business days

 

hmm, When I ordered my XPS 1530 it was in singapore... and made its way to America.. it took a week but dang it felt like an eternity.

 

Well, Alienware has already shipped my replacement display and a technician will be contacting me when it's ready to be installed.
