M14x Order Status Discussion

I live almost in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. I really shouldn't complain that I have to wait until Wednesday to get it.

 

The ETA used to say 5/23/2011 but then it's kinda the 29th now and the ETA now says N/A. Is this normal? I mean it kinda sucks getting all excited for nothing. It says it's in production though.

 

Have patience, it will arrive.

I know, that's easier said than done.

 

Yeah..Well it's just nerve wracking to have an ETA that says "N/A". So like, it could arrive next year lol. :|

 

EDD of 6/8. Still in production. NBD shipping.

I kind of wish it was here yesterday.

Hi I ordered m14x last week and my delivery date now is 6/8. So far it didn't change, but I want to ask if there is any chance it will be here sooner than this date. Basically my question is if the 6/8 date is the earliest/latest date I should expect the laptop.

 

i wish they would ship on memorial day now i have to wait until Wednesday lol...

 

Hello guys, I'm not american but I'm staying in NYC for a month (24th june to 24th july), do you guys think that is possible to order the M14x before my trip and get it delivered between these dates? If yes, how many days before would you recommend me to buy? The dell's reps say that's not possible to do that because they can not guarantee any arrival date, but i think they're being pessimists... How many days are you guys usually taking since the order to the arrival date for the M14x?

I believe most, if not everyone has gotten their machine within a month, but you never know what could happen. If you were to order it BEFORE you actually come here, like 2 weeks before your trip, I think you'll be fine. Mine took 3 weeks to get to me. I know some over sea's have seen their machines in just about 2 weeks. If you plan on a 4 week delivery, I think you'll be fine.

 

I ordered mine thru work on 25/05/2011, and the estimated delivery was 17/06/2011.

Just got a email today saying it has been shipped.

finally getting the replacement M14x lol after about a month of phone calls.

Does anyone know though if my 21 day guarantee is restarted ?

so if it comes faulty i can get it changed again in the first few weeks or even a refund ?

 

i doubt you'll be able to get another 21 days for a refund...if that was the case, we could destroy our m14x's (leave it on full power on the bed or something to fry the mobo) the day before warranty is up, get a replacement, then return it for a full refund..seems too good to be true

 

Yeah well, I ordered my m14x April 25th, received it May 3rd. With the exception that it came in the wrong color for starters, as well as I had a defective display and faulty casing on the left palmrest that was slightly loose. I immediately called up Dell and they put me through to a rep to take care of getting a replacement. Here I am a month later and still have not received my new replacement. I have been back and forth with Dell over a dozen times through phone and email. Every time their response is, "Everything on our end has been put through, now just awaiting Alienware Manufacturing team to complete the production, but they are having a shortage on parts". Yeah well, my order status is telling me that they didnt even put the order through until May 18th. And even with that, I have seen many of you on here who ordered after that date have received their system already, with the same specs as me. So I called them yesterday and told them that if my system does not get to me by this week, I'm cancelling, sending the ed up one back, and going somewhere else to get a laptop computer. They wrote me today and said the shortage was cleaned up and the system is in finalization, a tracking number will be sent out in the next 48hrs. An Xbox 360 console (?! haha), as well as, an extended full service warranty on top of my original warranty will be issued with the new system. At first I was pissed off...but now I guess it was worth the hassle and wait for the new system.

 

lucky!! i just ordered my laptop!! they said i will get it in 3 months!!?? what in the world!? is this for real!? 3 months to get an alienware laptop .. i got the i7 at 2.00ghz 4 gigs of ram.. 720p lcd 500 gb HDD 3gig GT555M ... will this really take the 3 months that dell told me!?

 

What? That's absurd, unless you live in the middle of the ocean somewhere where you receive packages by a parcel company that delivers using one of those bike/boats where you paddle with your feet.

 

yes i agree.. i live in canada.. ontario to be a little more accurate.. and they told my uncle who is ordering my laptop for me.. that it will take 3 months!! so im guessing i will get my laptop in september .. just before school.. without any time to prepare it for school or even test it and get used to it! i hope this rep made a mistake with expected dates!

 

Ordered 5/25, EDD 6/13, Today it says shipped with fedex delivering on 6/3.

 

Ordered 5/31,two student bundles w/ the xbox 360s. The consoles shipped yesterday with estimated delivery for tomorrow (6/3), the computers shipped today with estimated delivery for wednesday (6/8).

those systems are all stock except for 900p screen, 6gb ram, and bluetooth.

 

I placed my order today on 6/2 and my order has a EDD of 6/17. Hopefully it will ship out earlier and get to me before the 17th @_@

 

just figured out it was a little joke by my uncle.. laptop was ordered 06/01/2011 and expected delivery is 06/16/2011 ... cant wait !

 

lol..so cruel when it has to do with a new computer...!!

 

Got mine last night. Total time was 3 weeks from order placement on the 11th of May.

Taking off work to receive my system. Couldn't work out any better, I get a 3 day weekend and my new precious toy.

I took exactly 10 days from order to delivery. This machine is awesome.

hey sorry for the double post. i ordered mine on the first.. says its shipping and on its way now .. being shipped by a truck from the US to canada :S hopefully it doesnt take long.. im very excited to see this new laptop! hoping i get it soon and safely

M14x price in US more cheap than malaysia.
i really want this monster but not enough budget.

 

even canadian pricing is a good amount higher then the US.. i think it makes a 200 ish dollar difference.. i could get mine through my family from the US but then warranty is an issue. But i cant wait.. hopefully i will have it friday.. if not monday hopefully

I'm frm Malaysia. Ordered mine today, confirmed order, and EDD 4/7. Is this unusually long?

 

I order the M14x yesterday, and just receive the order confirmation email few hours ago.

In Dell website they stated EDD is about 11-15 from the day I receive the order confirmation email, so that should be on or before 24th of June, but in that email it say my EDD will be on or before 14th of July!!! that is 5 week long!

That's one month and a week away!! Is it the average delivery time? Or anyone here has to wait longer than that?

I also have read few horror story about delivery delays, some wait a month like me and still have several delay after each EDD emails. Is there any way to speed the thing up?

I wish and hope that it would take any longer than 5 weeks.

Edit: And this is a NZ delivery.

 

When I read your earlier post, I was like lol. For me if three month I would have call them and cancel the order, as it is too long! :laugh:

 

same wid me.. they had an EDD on 2nd of june.. its already 4 weeks now.. n after every couple of days.. i receive a mail saying sry.. wait for 4 more days.. still nt recieved.. pisses me off

 

wow.. that really sucks.. also i dont see why in the world it would take a month or more :S .. apparently 2 days ago mine was scanned and is on its way.. hopefully i see it tomorrow or monday. I placed in my order on June 6th, the xbox got here on the 7th, sleeve on the 8th, and the laptop is supposed to be here on or before the 22nd

 

It has arrived. Overall time from purchase till it was at my door was 6 days. I did purchase the deal with the student xbox 360. Now time to change settings/move files and do a compare to m15x.

 

I placed my order of my custom built M14x on 28 May, I received my Xbox on 1 June and my original arrival date would've been today, 10 June, however I received a email this morning stating that my order was "pushed" until the 22nd of June. Now this wouldn't be a big issues except for the fact that I am being deployed on the 21st. Should I consider canceling my order or just harass them enough so I can get a couple hundred knocked off and or free stuff? Any input would be helpful.

 

I would call Dell and complain, hopefully you can get some dollars back and they upgrade the shipping for you so you can get it before the 21st. Worst case they say no and ypu just return then if you choose.

 

Purchased 2 student deals on 5/31, received the Xboxes on 6/3, received both laptops on 6/8 ))

 

Yesterday for some reason when I check my order status and see my order is canceled (Which I didnt) was really furious and frustrating, so I call the sale rep today to ask to speak to their supervisor.

Thing is mess up at first as the person who updating my status accidentally update it as cancel, and now it is okay, but with a EDD speed up for my frustration.

Original EDD is 14/Jul, now is 7/Jul, a week earlier and also because of I do some haggling (Thanks to NBR's advice ) I manage to get a 50% discount on the part where I upgrade which is the CPU and OS, so on Monday they will refund me 150NZD back to my account!!!

 

Computer came in today to my surprise. It finished production on the 8th and I placed the order on the 2nd. It arrived on the 10th. So a 8 day delivery leaves me very satisfied
