Windows XP x64 with 16GB RAM and NO Hybernation available ???

    Works fine on my M6400 with 16Gb RAM and also my Precision 380 with 8Gb (both running Vista 64bit)

    This is true. With 16Gb of RAM it is far faster to shut down and restart than it is to hibernate etc.

    I still want the option though in case I'm in the middle of work and need to stop (just close the lid and go - I'm not putting a laptop that is only "asleep" in my briefcase...it'll set on fire!), or for when the battery fails.
