    Dear glambertuk

    After reading this thread, I have exactly same issue, 1 VM running VCenter Server and 2 nested VM's ESXi, i am maxed out on memory at 2x 8Gig. I have the i7 2640 CPU @ 2.80Ghz and my memory is as follows as reported by Crucial;

    Memory:
    DDR3 PC3-10600, DDR3 PC3-12800

    Memory Type: DDR3 PC3-10600, DDR3 PC3-12800, DDR3 (non-ECC)
    Maximum Memory: 8GB
    Currently Installed Memory: 8GB
    Total Memory Slots: 2
    Available Memory Slots: 0

    Can you be so kind as to give me the part number you ordered and have confirmed is working at 16Gig, it would be very much appreciated.

    Regards
    Darren

    When Intel is inaccurate, it's usually because you can install more memory than what they say. Your CPU can definitely handle 16GB.

    By the way, I wouldn't trust Crucial's website 100% either, here's what it says for my G73Jh:
    That laptop has 4 slots for a total of 16GB, not three slots like the site says.
