    I just got mine delivered :D

    Very happy with the machine but the display completely sucks....uneven lighting, light bleed at the bottom....just terrible.
    The hardware id is SEC5443....so it's the Samsung panel. Can anyone tell me the hardware id of the LG 2CCFL WUXGA 15,4" so i can ask Dell to replace it for that?

    It's actually weird that of the two possibilities for the the panels on each type
    WXGA+ WLED ...samsung has the better one
    WUXGA 2CCFL....LG has the better one?

    is this right? If not i'm going to try to have it replaced with the RGB LED when it's available

    please help me on the id peeps

    uhoh that dosent sound good.....mines arriving tomorrow....fingers crossed its a good display. sounds weird though, that it has uneven lighting.....2ccfl by right should be very even and clear. maybe u got a faulty display with one broken backlight?

    Could be....if i look up the hardware id on the net i only get 17" screens as result. I also don't know how to check if it really IS 2ccfl. Just tryin to find as much info as i can before whipping the rep ;) NAh...i think it'll be alright...it's just a bit of a dent for this otherwise awesome laptop :D

    @ afhstingray
    Well it's easy to check the hardware id.
    Just go to system-device manager-monitor-properties and then scroll to the hardware id.
    If yours is fine pleeeeaaase check the id so i can tell my rep which part i
    want.

    @danrom
    speaker issues? Is that the prob with XP mentioned everywhere? No issues yet but i'm vista ultimate 64

    Glad to hear there is no problems in vista.. I was under the impression that the issue was noise related? (from the wireless card) So that the speaker would "click" when the wireless card turns on/off .. But it's only good if i'm wrong :D

    hmmmm....not sure....i did hear some clicks but didn't link it to the wireless card...yet ;) I'll keep an ear out for it. Right now i'm trying to get the fingerprint thingy to work and at a complete loss....very annoying that there's no manual whatsoever delivered with the laptop...so much for RTFM :p
