I want to update that since the BIOS update, and video driver update for the ATI 6490, I can run Civ 5 on high settings fine. Prior to this update, the ATI card wasn't even being used!!

Does anybody know if I can install a sim module in the 3350? And where would that be located? I can't find any relevant info online nor do I seem to find it in the user manual. :/

My version doesn't have a 3G module, for sure.

I just checked dell.com and there is no builtin option for mobile connectivity, although for example V131 has.

Hi, new owner of the 3350 with the i3-2310 here.

It came with a 4 cell battery and i'm contemplating an 8 cell battery but the prices are quite varied. Anyone have any experience purchasing from hl components out of canada?

they've got a great deal on an 8 cell for $28.48usd/$3.99usd shipping which sounds almost too good to be true. they have received good reviews as a merchant online so that does put some of my fears to rest. any opinions would be much appreciated.

here's the link: Battery for Dell Vostro 3350 - 8 cells, 4400mAh, Black - HL Components

Maybe it's not geniune Dell battery, because they generally highlight that.

    hi folks
can some of you tell me what the real/actual weight of the 3350 is?

also, in heavy use, how's the heat buildup, and is the i3 model necessarily any cooler than other? many thanks

i have the 4-cell. it's heavier than other 13.3" laptops out there, but not that badly. i would say it "feels like" it's 5lbs, even though it's 4.5+.

i wouldn't say that i have the processor running intensively all the time, but on occasion i have Windows Vista and Windows XP running in simultaneous virtual machines. If that's the case (i'm doing that now), i often see these temperatures:
    - CPU: core 0: 57C, core 1: 55C
    - HDD: 38C

those numbers are from HWMOnitor at this moment. I would say +/-2C for both temperatures.
