I'm getting a Vostro 14 3468 (7th gen i3, 1 TB HDD) which has Ubuntu preinstalled, and I want to install Windows 10 x64 on it.

Is there anything that I need to know? Like, is the BIOS different for Ubuntu models? UEFI, GPT etc. are all accessible and not hidden or crippled?

There is no reason that you cannot install Windows 10. The BIOS is the same. You will just have to bring your own license and figure out driver installation, etc. yourself.

Thanks. I NEEDED to force flash the BIOS on a couple of Acer laptops which shipped without Windows, which is why I asked.

You ain't got to worry about those kind of shenanigans with Dell.

Might be worth checking the BIOS settings, but in general they should be the same. I haven't used any of the newer generation Vostro models (I think they're all non-US-only?) but two things to be aware of with Windows is that choosing between UEFI vs. legacy mode, and choosing between AHCI vs. RAID both are basically fixed decisions before you install.

Not getting much response here, so I'll move this to a new thread. Maybe the title of the thread is putting people off.
