OMG!!!! this heatsink is worse designed than the m1330 one, that explains your heating problems.

My V1310 has just arrive 1 week ago, and the diference with the i1420 is clear (both has nvidia 8400m gs), the v1310 is far more hotter than the i1420. The CPU is near 10° hotter and the GPU another 10° hotter, this last one reaches 85°C playing Warcraft3, so I think it could easily reach 90°C, that is what I call VERY BAD COOLING, so i'm gonna search for solutions right now.

I started undervolting the CPU to lowered the entire system temperature. It helps a little to cooling the GPU too.

    Regards

Heh, my Vostro 1400 right now is hitting 95c underload - i'm afraid it would go higher if I push it anymore...

If the Vostro 8400m GS has a blue thermal pad, then you can do the copper mod.
In your command prompt type powercfg /hibernate on

Could anyone please help me with drivers for Vostro 1310 GeForce 8400M GS on 64-bit Vista?
I've tried various versions from laptopvide2go but still no tray icon and poor Aero performance.
The wierd thing is that without nVidia drivers I don't have sleep mode.
Hibernate not available at all. Is there a way to enable it?
    Thanks.

What software are you using to do that? Can't you just undervolt the GPU?
