@iieeann- i have the tray loading drive. i hate slot loading drives. they scratch your discs and are very fragile in my experience

Good review. Disappointed in their step backwards for the battery and power supply unit as you said, but it's not a deal breaker. What integrated audio chipset are the M4400 and M4600 using? Personally, I tried to use a few Creative Labs (Soundblaster) solutions, but they haven't given me great results. I'd use a portable amp or DAC.

Just a few comments, you state the fans in reverse. The fan on the left, smaller fan, is the CPU fan and the fan on the right, larger fan, is the GPU fan.
The 240W power adapter is half the thickness of the 210W you received.

I am still baffled by the battery life you are seeing. My M6500 also has an 87whr battery. I also have a 55 watt processor, but the new ones can idle down much lower wattage. I have the Quadro 3800M which pulls 100 watts max and 10 min. I have an SSD and a 7200 rpm drive. I have a 17" RGBLED display vs the 15.6" wled in yours. Literally, every part of my M6500 should be pulling more power than your M4600.

Somehow we are getting the same battery life. You should be able to get more out of your battery than I am.

At this point I am thinking its either the ATI Drivers or your Windows settings. Would love to know that settings you have on your power plan.

This may sound stupid, but is there a chance Throttlestop was left on?

Just a question to the power adapters: The webpage says, the m6600 comes with a 240W adapter, just like you mentioned above. but my offer, I got from the german dell service included just a 210W power suply with the m6600. Is this a mistake? Or is the 240W power adapter optional?
The docking station for the m6600 includes also only a 210w power adapter.

@ iieeann: Thanks you very much! great review!

For the battery, can you run hwinfo32 and let us know what the MA power draw is on the battery? Would give us a concrete number to compare to.

Also - How many things are you running?

How do you have 118 Processes in task manager? 1200+ threads? This was all while benchmarking, so I assume you did not have much running.

Can't help but wonder if something you installed is hurting the battery life.

The M6600 should only be shipping with the 240W power adapter, it is about half the thickness of the one picture in this thread. The dock will still ship with the 210W.
