You might have shorted the power delivery. Can you take a look at the power delivery daughterboard (should be near the place where the power cord connects to the motherboard) and see if anything has gone wrong/blackened/etc?

Isn't it normal behavior for the light to be off when battery is 100% charged?

Ah, that is normal behaviour. I quoted the wrong bit, my bad. If the notebook is not POSTing, then I was thinking there was a power delivery issue. A problem in seating the DGFF power cable or the DGFF connectors themselves might be an issue. Might consider opening it back up to check.

I did once and reinstalled the OEM card (only one DGFF and nothing...

Just to make sure, I can plug the battery on the side and test (I.e. I am reconnecting palm rest keyboard etc without any screw just to test).

It really feels like the power button/connector has an issue but the cable/connector both look fine.

Tonight I'll do another trial and report back.

Ran out of thermal paste ✓÷€°€°
That stuff was super thick, like it was past due. Almost impossible to spread.

    I bought kryonaut arriving Thursday

Debating if I should still try to get it to post without the paste but no use the laptop if it post.

    Edit: Victory!!! It posts

I didn't check into windows or anything. Will wait for the thermal paste.

    I'll post an update Thursday

Head over to the UEFI settings, and go to General Options —> System Information, and see if you see your new card there. If you do, then you will have to install the NVIDIA drivers.

So, I screwed up again, this time big time

I went with F2 at startup to get in some kind of UEFI. Under graphics I checked discrete graphics controler output mode and unchecked enable switchable graphics (likely my error).

Now the screen is black, of course as I now think Ihave set the BIOS to only use the dGPU but drivers are not installed.

I don't see any way to get back to UEFI as I have zero graphics :/ what a moron.

Edit plugging into my TV I am getting an image, will install drivers form there and try tk boot into UEFI

    I still can't install drivers:/[IMG]

And when booting + F2 it doesn't show uefi on the TV but I guess on the screen... I would have to figure out a tab + enter sequence to get to the Load Defaults option button and select it without seeing the actual screen

Did a full CMOS battery disconnect... At least screen is working now.

OK, hold up; that's an old version of the drivers.

Download this driver, and install it. You might not have installed the DCH drivers. Furthermore, we need more images: go to Device Manager, Display Adaptors, and screenshot what you see there (On Windows 10 1909, this is Windows + Shift + S).

I am not yet back into windows. So many issues not sure why but that BIOS reset didn't go well. Will post as soon as I am back into windows.

That system scan stayed at 1sec left for a while. My computer is very sick

I've never had such screen and recovery before

Even after repair, supportAssist OS recovery crashed...[IMG]
