Tolerance on backlight bleed?

    Yeah, I feel bad too. I just wait then. It really only is an issue watching movies. Maybe in March I get it taken care of.

    I just picked up an e7440 from the outlet and ran into this:

    It's a little less striking in person, but still the worst bleed I've seen on a display. It also seems to change when I move around the lid and I can see rippling in the lcd even while typing in the lower right corner, like the glass was over-tightened to the display. If I torque the display even a little, the bleed spreads over half of the display area. I'm in contact with Dell now so I'm going to see what they will do, but this is a bit frustrating as I can even see the upper left bleed as clouding at full brightness in a well lit area. Otherwise good panel quality. I'll report back with any results.

    A small amount is tolerable but that's unacceptable. Hope you get things worked out.

    As for the quality of their external monitors, after a long time in fear, I was pleased with the quality of their external display. The vivid color and clarity on the QHD is beautify, and any bleed hotspots are non detectable. I give the laptop a 92% and the external monitor 97%!
