When I dock my E4200 the image is sometimes corrupted. (example: the window from an application does not render correctly). The E4200 is 2 weeks old and drivers are up to date (windows 7)
I remember that I read somewhere a post form someone with the same problem but can't recall where. Someone with the same issue / solution?

Another small question, I think / hope it's not an issue but I bumped my latitude when it was docked. Are those connectors on the dock / laptop sturdy enough to handle this?

    Thanks,

    bob

What is the hot undock/dock procedure you guys use for the E-series?

I'm guessing by hot undock/dock you mean docking or undocking without restarting the computer. With my E6500 and Vista I don't have to do anything beyond plug it in or pop it out.

I have no issues with my Advanced E-Port, except that the eSATA port doesn't work (have an old eSATA PC/PCMCIA card that I use instead, so I haven't really researched the problem). Others with the same problem?

No problems with docking/undocking, but I always put the computer in sleep mode first (or turn it completely off). The docking/undocking process involves quite a bit of sudden movement of the computer (the release mechanism in the E-Port could be better). Doing this with a running computer probably involves a small risk of causing damage to the hard disk.

The fan runs at slow speed most of the time - never at full speed unless heavy CPU load over some time. I live in a relatively cold climate. If the room temp is below about 18-19 degrees C, the fan stays off most of the time with low CPU load. It is running constantly on low speed right now, after 2 hours of constant 30-40% CPU load (ca. 19 degrees ambient temp.).

I use a 19" Samsung LCD monitor (1280x1024) that I have connected to the E-port both via VGA and DVI (not at the same time...) with no problems. Haven't tried two or more monitors yet, but plan to buy a second one quite soon.
