I'm thinking about getting the dell E6400 and there are the two options:

Mobile Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD
    NVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M

what exactly is the difference of these two choices? and i heard there has been problem with the nvidia, so does the problem also apply with the e6400 or just other systems? which is better out of the two? considerin the price of adding 70 for the nvidia, i'm going to guess nvidia one is better, but y? please help.. thank you

If you do not play games or use 3D intensive apps, then the 4500MHD is more than enough. Intel's GPU will run cooler and provide a longer battery life.

The new Intel GPU is getting into the territory of the low end dedicated GPUs. See the table here. Applications such as photoshop are 2D graphics which depend more on the CPU and RAM. Also the Intel GPU's 2D performance is in the same range as the dedicated GPUs.

Until we get feedback from people with E6400 + nVidia GPU, I would assume you can get 5 hours with Intel GPU and 4 hours with the nvidia GPU. Both for the 6 cell battery, 5400rpm HDD and LED backlit display.

If you do play games, you shouldn't go for a business notebook or you won't get happy with it on long terms.

Not necessarily true. The business GPUs are just the consumer GPUs with different names. We just need to find out what the 160M is equivalent to.

See my research into the HP 8710p, in which I discovered that 'business' GPU was equivalent to the mighty nVidia 8700GT.

I'd guess that the 160M is probably a lower-end mid-range GPU, but cannot prove it until someone is actually brave enough to purchase the notebook with the nVidia GPU.

That is kind of a myth.

Well, Commander Wolf and I both ordered ours with the 160M. Perhaps I'll cancel and wait for him to get his? Just kidding.. I know him personally so I know how he'd react.
