Precision M6600 IPS Display DIY Upgrade/Conversion Thread

The edp m6800( the later batches) use a different pin out on the connector.

I think it is 30 vs 50pin.

Any one have more information about using this with the m6800?? Specifically, using the 17.3" IGZO 4k display from the m7710 with this interposer card? I see no reason to get the the m7710 other than that it has a 4k display

 

It looks like the eDP connector on the M6800 is different than the one on the M6600 (from baii's post just above), I think this is unlikely to work.

E. It is advised to buy or nicely request (6) H1M5R [Screw,M2X3,Flat Pan Head,Machine Screw,Black Oxide] fasteners so you have them handy if needed during the upgrade/conversion process.

Is there anyone to give me a tip or url for this purchase?

Does anyone knows the Dell Part Number of a Dell Precision m6600 Lvds cable FHD?

It is impossible to find!!

I did not replaced the Lvds cable because I dont know yet the right part number, and while searching for a Dell precision M6600 FHD Lvds cable the SAME cable I have pops out.

Can you help me?

 

A 720p LVDS lcd only needs 1-channel, but a 1080p needs a 2-channel cable (due to data bandwidth). It is possible the sellers are using stock images, but I've also received wxga cables sold as fhd, so ...

Now, a 2ch cable can run 1ch panels, which could mean your current cable is fine, but merely not connected properly. Could try reseating it. Can also check the cable's channelness by pulling away a little of the tape covering and making a photo of the tiny wires underneath. The 1ch can easily be distinguished because it lacks almost all the wires on one end of the connector.

Lastly, the pin configuration could be different form the 720p cable. That can be ruled out if you know the panel nrs. of the old and the new screen; take them from the sticker on the back, preferably.

I mounted back the old LCD HD+, and it works well as before, so the cable is good, at least for that screen.

Here is the uncovered cable, and according to your description it should be a 2 channels cable. Maybe the problem is elsewhere.
