Well while the glossy E2E screen is nice in "some" circumstances, I find that there is often a window near by that ruins it with glare.

So, I'm hoping someone can recommend an anti-glare cover or something I can at least use at work when I have no control over the window blind nazi's.

My primary concern is to find something anti-glare that is of sufficiently small grane as to allow the 1920x1200 resolution to remain sharp.

Ok, have joined the waiting game.

    Ordered:

    M6400:Q9100:8GB:3700M:RGBLED (matte):2-500GB 7200 RAID-1:Bluetooth 370:WiFi Intel 5300:Blu-Ray:Webcam:FP reader:proSup:Ccare:EP Port Rep:Slim AC:Vista U 64 SP1

Seems there is a backorder on RGBLED at this time.

This is for my son, a 3rd year an Applied Mathmatics/Comp Sci major. Using compilers, Maya, Maple, Matlab, PS and who knows what else.

I have read this thread and it sounds most issues have been resolved or workarounds.

Most of the issues were drivers with several being Win7 for our people on the leading edge and I thank them for diving into Win7.

Initial crop of issues with the 3700M, maybe a bad batch of cards.

Also some initial issues with RGBLED which sound like growing pains of new tech.

Sounds like a good percentage of units have been delivered have no issues at all.

maybe it is a bad batch... but i received my m6400 a month ago, and the 3700 gave me blackscreens galore...
swapped once, more black screens... now waiting for second swap of graphics cards.

    hopefully this time it works.

i really want to be satisfied with this laptop...

    Sorry to hear that.

In your shoes, I might push Dell for the new ATI card...

Go into the BIOS (hit F12 right after the power button) and you can set it different ways, one of which I believe is to have it on all the time. I have it set to come on as soon as you hit any key but am pretty sure you can also set it to be on all the time.
