I have recently been using my PC Clock Time Synchronizer program, basically it checks your Windows clock against some internet one and make's sure it's correct. Ive noticed every week or so my Windows clock loses about 30 seconds. Just wondered if anyone knows if this is a windows issue or m6400 issue? Im not using any programs that halt the flow of windows etc. Can I fix it so it doesnt need syncing as much? This is not an incredibly important problem, just thought i'd throw it out there as im curious.

    Veni :)

Windows (XP/vista/7) PCs can already use the internet time protocol. Under windows 7 click on the clock at bottom right, select "change date and time settings", select the "internet time" tab and then "change settings". Similar approach can be used with other windows versions. This automatically sets your clock and should stop any slew.

    Cheers, Paul.

Thanks Paul. Im using XP and I found the same settings for the windows internet time protocol. It was already checking it itself. Perhaps the m6400 hardware is somehow running slightly slower than it should be. I wouldnt know where to begin to diagnose or find out anything else from here though.

If you order this machine with just one HDD attached, will the other slot have the adapter required to install an Intel SSD on it? Because supposedly the Dell Studio 17 doesn't and I really want that Intel SSD in there for my work. Anyone?

As long as it's the same dimensions, the thickness being 9.5mm and any more is tight mine had the adaptor, screws and everything needed to install a drive. Open it up, it's just the two screws you undo and presto!...there's this big hole with the HD mount and in foam should have the adaptor and screws.

On a completely different note - has anyone sourced cheaper bluray dvd drives in the 9.5mm form factor for the m6400 yet? The last prices i checked were bordering on extortionate

Amen to that... When I ordered.... a blu-ray drive and a 500GB hdd increased the cost by $1000.00 USD. The 128GB SSD was only 100 bucks more than the 500GB.. Kinda nutz don't ya think?

Why not get the m6500 with an I7? in the uk they cost about the same and you get 8 concurrent threads vs 2 on the core2 ?
