ok i finally got mine.....first impression is WOW. this thing feels a lot better than my M4400. how do i check the hardware ID of my monitor? im supposed to have the WLED one but its got ridiculously good viewing angles and looks very saturated, i cant believe its not RGBLED

first of all, much better cooling than the M4400, screen is amazing considering i have the WLED FHD one, i really need to check again to make sure its not RGBLED.

no ambient light sensor to control the keyboard, that is a bit annoying. build quality is definitely better than the M4400, it feels so much better-but the LCD back panel flexes more when you press on it. keyboard is superb. i'd say its about the same as my old M4400 but the keypress has shorter travel, to be honest i prefer it to the already superb keyboard on my thinkpad X201.

speakers are an improvement to the M4400, they sound like my old inspiron 8600 which had pretty good speakers for its time. the power button, volume etc feel nicer too.

i will do a full review ASAP, but i have a proposal thats due on friday and i'm rushing to finish it. but any questions feel free to ask

    edit:
one more thing, the palmrest feels way more solid than the M4400, but the finish feels like after a few months it might wear out, unlike the M4400 which had a very solid finish

Is this laptop the logical successor to the Latitude D830/E6500/E6510 lineup? Because it seems to correct upon the many shortcomings present in the E6520 (particularly the new case design which seems flimsy).

Anyone? Price is quite high, but might be justifiable.

its a precision, not a latitude. its the workstation business line, latitude is just the usual business line so i'm not sure what you mean by successor
