:D It's good that it's not too big though..

But in black background (i.e. bootup), I can see some tint on the right as well, but it disappears(?) upon entering Windows...

Well, on black screen (so most visible when booting Windows) I have some light leaks as well, but they are not so much annoying.

PS. How big is your tint (I mean width/height)?

    Yup, agreed..

I'm overall very pleased, but as I thought the AG coating makes the entire screen look a bit grainy................ The Full HD on the M6600 did not have this problem, so it is orders of magnitude more annoying for me..

I just purchased an M4600 with minimal memory, planning to upgrade. I want to buy 8 (or 16)GB of 1600MHz memory (newegg). I've waded through this thread trying to figure out if Kingston KHX1600C9S3K2/8GX will run at full speed. I understand it has to do with XMP, but am still confused. The machine has a i7-2720QM processor. I'd very much appreciate some help. Thanks!

    Hi, Presbyo,

Congratulations to your new M4600. I wonder why you did not choose the i7-2760 that is giving you more performance at the same price, but maybe it is not available in your country.

I have read somewhere that the M4600 has no problems running high-speed memory supporting and fully utilizing up to 1866Mhz. Anyway, as the M4600 and M6600 are almost the same have a look at this:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/dell-latitude-vostro-precision/580712-m6600-owners-thread-15.html

Furthermore there is Ramcity which guarantee that their SODIMMs are compatible with the M4600 (it states it right above the product listing):

This phenomenon is caused by Advanced True White Polarizer.

Corner Tint exchanges for IPS Glow. That is how it is .

But A-TW IPS Panel gives you almost zero IPS Glow.

I bought it three weeks ago when the i7-2720QM was the choice the Dell build page gave for an additional $140US. I see they have updated the choices!

Thanks! Your 1st link confirms that I'll get the full 1600MHz using the i7-2720QM. But your 2nd link worries me. RamCity isn't listing the much less costly memory I want to buy here, and which is discussed here in the M4600 Owners Lounge. From this latter link, it seems the situation may be more involved. The fact that RamCity is not listing this or any other Kingston 1600MHz memory for the M4600 bothers me. Also, if one buys the M4600 with an i5, 1600Mhz and faster memory will run at 1333MHz according to all I've read. RamCity doesn't mention this. Their language only says "compatible with the M4600" not "will run at full speed".

I hope someone here whose running the memory I want can confirm that it will indeed run at full speed. Thanks again.

I must say, I don't understand you. Why do I care what is causing it, if there are people who doesn't experience it at all (or much less than I do) - I should be able to get the same quality.
So please use more layman language:
"It is caused by ATWP" - what does it mean for user; I don't care how it is built.
"Corner tint exchanges for IPS Glow" - what does exchanges (in this context) mean [you have glow or tint?].
