Can anybody help, I have M4600 and tried installing 16GB 1333mhz RAM 4x4, but after I installed 2 dimms C and D down keyboard, computer doesnt start. Before I find plastic where is ram picture strike strough, is it really possible, that Dell installed memory slots, where I can´t but memory?

I installed 4x4 16gig RAM too. worked fine.
What CPU do you have? Quad or dual core? Are you sure you properly inserted the RAM under the keyboard?

I bet you have a dual core M4600. That's why Dell put the plastic spacers with striked-through logos in the slots where RAM modules won't work.

4 modules will only work on quad core M4600.

assuming that you got the drivers from the dell.com/drivers, you might need dell webcam software to get it going. it should be in the drivers page.

It is not on the website (at least not in EU). My M4600 came with a dedicated 'Dell WebCam' DVD with the drivers and webcam software on it. You should have it too. I used the DVD when I re-installed my system.

    I hope this helps!

I need that darn webcam DVD/CD also, can someone post it somewhere for us to download. Perhaps a torrent or something could also work.

I don't have the DVD with me, but I did a quick web search for 'Dell Webcam Central' and 'Creative Technology' which resulted in the following link:

Download program 'Dell Webcam Central' by Creative Technology Ltd.

That is the downloader/installer, which downloads the following file:

    http://ftp.us.dell.com/app/DellWebcamSW.exe <- NOT WORKING with the M4600

I'm on my home notebook, so I can't test it. Give it a try and report back!

    EDIT:
Thanks! I marked the link from above that it is not working with the M4600.

WORKING LINK: Use the link posted by fireball99 here.

Also note that while the 'Dell Webcam Central' from above is version 2.0.44 and the version installed from the DVD on my M4600 is 1.40.28, running the DellWebcamSW.exe will fail with the following message:

I tried dellsw.exe but it didn't work. Says I need dell webcam central! Did some googling and found a link for the webcam central software that works but it wasn't listed for the m4600 but for other dell laptops.
I haven't got the link at the moment but will post up later.

Dell's website is a shocker.to get the software, had to login , then goto my downloads, but that didn't work!

this post is relating to my IPS-panel having some color-leaks in the lower edges and Dell should pop up tomorrow to check it out - here is a question to all people with IPS-Panels:

when displaying an all-white image on the *entire* screen (also where the usual win 7 tray is) - do you see any green/magenta color casts in the lower corners? If so - how strong and how large are they?

I spot a green cast, about a finger thick and max 1 inch tall in the left edge, and a magenta cast, about a pinkie thick and approx 2 inches tall in the right edge.
