Call Dell and get a new one...it should be under warranty. They might argue it's wear&tear but that's bull....it shouldn't fall apart like this.

    Hello Everyone!

This is my first post here and I've already gone through the Part 1 and Part 2 threads in the last few weeks.

I have a question regarding the powermiser feature and running an external monitor via DVI. There is still a problem with the graphics card not clocking down when connecting through DVI/VGA?

Mine is connected via an E-Port Plus dock and it certainly running at full 3D mode frequencies.

    Regards...

PS. I ordered a 3ft Displayport to DVI cable to bypass this issue from Monoprice.com

3/25/2010 - going Displayport to DVI does not allow the Powermiser to kick in... stuck in 3D mode speed...

I'm on bios A14, Windows Server 2008 R2, newest display drivers and the display adapter runs at full speed when the VGA out is used in tandem with the display, but clocks down when only using the VGA out.

M4400 with P8700 2.53 GHz, Windows 7 Pro and all the rest of the specs as you mentioned... $1287 + any tax/shipping (according to the Dell site for the US).

Just wanted to tell everyone that I am currently updating my drivers from the ones available on the M4500/E6510 page. Most of it is working well. I am wondering whether I will be able to replace my palmrest to get a better trackpad.

It looks like the palm rest and latching mechanism has changed so I doubt you can use the M4500 palm rest.

    Hello ppl,
I have tried a lot of drivers for Nvidia Quadro FX 770M and I couldn't find a driver that contains all of the features (OpenCL, CUDA, PxysX, DirectCompute and the main - Powermizer). The last one (197.16) I have downloaded from Nvidia official site. It's support only OpenCL, CUDA and DirectCompute. But GPU is hot - 64-63 C. Please give an advise what kind of driver I should use to get maximum efficiency with powermizer enabled.
