I have a single CCFL with a WUXGA screen and I love it. I can't stand glossy screens and one of the main reasons I went with the M4400 was so that I could get a non-glossy WUXGA screen. I use normal size fonts and I love the high resolution.

My wife has a 1440x900 screen on her Dell 1420 and even on a 14" I think that is way too low. I have a visual acuity of 20/15, so that may play a part. I'm sure after another 10 or 20 years of staring at computer screens my vision will be shot and I will have to start using lower resolution screens, but until then the higher the better.

I guess I am the only person in the universe having this problem as I can't find any reference to it anywhere and nobody in this thread responded :-(

FWIW, I found a work around, ugly as it is: I configure the Dell control point to always show the LCD panel exclusively when I open the lid of the laptop. Before I sleep and undock, I first open the lid and the display switches over, and then press the button to send it to sleep. When done this way the laptop wakes up just fine after being undocked.

    Hope this helps somebody!

That sounds much more troublesome than it should be. Already running BIOS A19 and the latest GPU drivers from Dell?

    Yep, latest everything.

I'm about to blow away Vista and install Win7 anyway, so I'm hoping this problem just disappears when that happens. The fact that nobody else is having this happen hopefully means it is something quite unique to my current setup.
