My support has expired - to be honest, it still gets an hour plus change away from the desktop, and a replacement battery isn't too expensive, so it hasn't really crossed my threshold for needing to deal with it. The new laptop, when it arrives, I will set the charge ceiling at 70% and see how that works.

Got the email this morning that the 7760 Build is complete stating " We’ve finished customizing your product and are sending it from our factory to our sorting center. This process can take up to 5 business days."

Still not status change on the 7560. Not in production, but good news the ESD has not changed. Hoping those still hit the ESD.

On my XPS 15 7590, I set the charging threshold to 60% for the last 1.5 years (used it a fair bit on battery, but rarely below 20%), and the battery health hasn't degraded a single percent.

Some may already know this, but I figured I would post. I do not recall seeing it unless I missed it.

    Dell Precision 7560/7760
    External Display Connection Guide
    https://dl.dell.com/topicspdf/precision-17-7760-laptop_owners-manual7_en-us.pdf

This Provides a summary of the different outputs depending on if you enable/disable in the bios the options for Switchable Graphics and Discrete Graphics Controller Direct Output Mode.

On my 7710 I always had the switchable graphics disabled. I use it primarily with external monitors (no dock, plugged into 7710). With the 7760 and 7560 I may leave it enabled (with the Discrete Graphics enabled) so the few times I do use without external monitors it will use the iGPU to save battery assuming I am not using an app that wants to use the discrete.

My son is the one using the 7560 so I will see if he has issues with the switchable graphics and any games on the laptop display. He will use it primarily with out external monitors (initially).

My Precision 7560 arrived yesterday, so I've been busy setting it up and moving things from my Precision 7530.

I configured my 7530 to dual boot Windows 10 and Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, and I have successfully adjusted my 7560 to dual boot Windows 10 and Ubuntu 20.04 LTS.

HOWEVER, the version 5.4 kernel built into Ubuntu 20.04 LTS does NOT support the Intel AX210 chips the 7x60s use for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, meaning that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth don't work when running Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. AX210 support first appeared in kernel 5.10, and some users have provided instructions to manually install kernel 5.10. Ubuntu 20.04 LTS will eventually receive an official update to kernel 5.10. I'll probably wait for the official update since I can easily connect to a wired LAN.

I have to wonder how Dell deals with this issue when they ship a Precision 7560 preloaded with Ubuntu 20.04 LTS?

Has anyone here ordered a 7x60 with Ubuntu? If so, what kernel version did Dell ship?

I just received my 7760 with the UHD 120Hz display. My display area is not aligned correctly inside the monitor casing (if my words make sense). The screen is not centered, the left most pixel column is almost touching the left bezel and there is about a 4-5mm gap on the right side bezel. And on top of it all, it is not straight horizontally either, it shifts up as it moves to the right. Ugh.

Is this something that I can try fixing at home or should I ask for a replacement?

Aside, I am coming from a 7720, is there no pointing stick option on precision keyboards anymore?

Before getting this 7760, I tried the new XPS 17 4K, the screen on that had bad color uniformity. Even the 7760 I have got now has a cooler corner on the bottom left (which I might be able to live with). Anybody else having any color issues on their 17.3 4K 120Hz screens?

I am tempted to just get a replacement if the screens quality distribution is better.

The 7720 I have had a premium panel and was amazing, but the screen died on me last month just 4months out of warranty.

That's pretty odd. I mean, there's not much "wiggle room" when installing these panels — it's hard to do wrong — so I think there must be something bent out of shape in the display enclosure? You could pry off the bezel and see if anything looks obviously off (not screwed in all the way on one side or something). I'd contact Dell straight away, they could either replace the display panel & enclosure, or the entire system.

Correct, no pointing stick (since 7750 I think).

If your 7720 panel died and that's the only problem with it, panels are pretty affordable on eBay and it's not a hard part to replace, so you could probably get it up and running again without much trouble. (What quality panel you would get is another story. I've gotten really good ones and not-so-good ones, hard to tell who to order from.)

Has anyone fiddled with ThrottleStop and undervolting yet? Given these come with brand-new CPUs and BIOSes, is there any chance of manually disabling the undervolt lock bit, to eke out a little bit more performance?

Looks like it's not possible without any modifications

Oof; that's around 10-15% of performance improvements left on the table. Hopefully someone figures out how to unlock the undervolt bit...
