I have no idea as my laptop didn't arrived yet. It scheduled in the end of January.
But I suppose it will be that one. Still it's heavy (about 1kg) and large.
It'd be nice if you'd get GaN PSU with 5k EUR laptop.

Regarding your experiments: is it worth it to repaste from factory slime to sth better?
If yes, should I use Conductonaut or something less problematic?
I'm basically interested in good thermal performance and longevity - will I see a difference spending additional ~50EUR?
I understand that you've used pads instead of paste because they age better and are easier to remove.
Is there any place in 7750 that calls for pads instead of paste and which thickness?

Only if you see a degradation in temperatures over time. I had no choice but to replace my factory paste anyway because I upgraded both my graphics card and the heatsink.

    Thanks for the information

Concerning the "refresh", I was indeed referring to the HDR600 display option (hoping that it will be 4K touchscreen as well) and to the new 3466MHz memory

In the below older thread they were mentioned as features coming shortly after the 7X50 launch

And I don't remember where I read it, but these updates were expected by the end of last year

Do you happen to know the dimensions and weight of this PSU?
There are no infomation about it on Dell website, nor any other site I've searched.
I must say that I'm REALLY excited and waiting for my machine to arrive gets harder every day ;)

7 x 3.5 x 1 inches, 1lb 11oz including the 3 ft cable to the wall. It is definitely the smallest and lightest 240w AC Adapter dell makes, even smaller than the one included with Alienware laptops which cost just as much as the Precision. The 240w brick does get very hot under max loads. At work I have a 330W brick under my desk which does not get nearly as hot and I would suggest it if you have a stationary desk as well. The DPN is GT1CX and they cost $105 from Dell Spare Parts (US).

Ok, so its really not so bad!
(I converted data to metric and aligned them for convienience)
My 0WRHKW 130W PSU is 155x76x25mm and it weighs 600g
Slim 7XCR6 240W PSU is 178x89x25mm and it weighs 765g

330W unit costs 80USD new after taxes, so that's also good value :D

    Hello everyone.

    I have a 7550 with 32GB RAM (2x16GB). I am looking to upgrade to 64GB.
I am looking at the aftermarket choices to add RAM (two 16GB sticks). Probably going for Crucial since I've read good history of compatibility.

I read that SlurpJug added some Crucial with success (page 8). There seems to be currently two version of 16GB sticks available : single rank and dual-rank :

    CT16G4SFD832A : dual rank 2x8GB (less availability)
    CT16G4SFRA32A : single rank 1x16GB (easily available)

Would you have an advice on which I should go for ?

Also I read that I should better not mix the ram in dual channel banks. Where can I find how channels are organized ?
    A/B and C/D ? Is that correct ?

If you are going to have two different types of modules installed, then have one matching set in the slots beneath the keyboard and the other set in the slots on the bottom side of the motherboard.
Make sure that the CAS latency matches between all of the modules, in addition to the speed. (You can use CPU-Z to check the CL of your current modules... it can also tell you if your current modules are dual-rank or not.) If the CL does not match then you will end up in a situation where the modules are running at reduced speed, or if they can't find a speed/CL combination that they agree on, the system may not boot at all.

Are you sure about that ?

It looks that SlurpJug adviced exactly the contrary to get best performance with his four RAM sticks :
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...750-owners-thread.833097/page-8#post-11025034
He had problems running high speed with his RAM sticks (doing it the taw you propose) so he switched to this configuration :

    Channel 1:
    - DIMM A: SK Hynix 3200 (OEM)
    - DIMM B: SK Hynix 3200 (OEM)

    Channel 2:
    - DIMM C: Crucial 3200 (aftermarket)
    - DIMM D: Crucial 3200 (aftermarket)

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...750-owners-thread.833097/page-7#post-11024970
Banks are A and C below the keyboard , B and D on the rear side.
