Those adapters are only rated at 5 Gbps, much slower than TB3 if you ask me...
I'd be interested in securing this TB18DC connection as well, but not by creating a bottleneck.
Is everything as fast and smooth as before for you?

Thanks for the reply. I opened a couple files to work with, and in the task manager it looks like I'm at the limits of memory in use. It also shows "committed memory" almost double. Also was able to see instances of the SSD maxing out.

I also see in your original post a link to changing the P3200 bios to the 7730 bios. Has this been proven out to improve gpu speed with no ill effect of overheating?

    Thank you for your help.

@Ionising_Radiation has a post (somewhere in here) with before-and-after comparison of the vBIOS swap. It did improve the performance of the GPU. They had the power cap set a bit too low in this system...

    Hallo.
I am taking into consideration to upgrade my 7730 with either a RTX4000 or even a RTX5000.
My main doubt is the power draw.My understanding is that both cards have the limit at 160w.Is the motherboard able to deliver that wattage?
Also, are both cards the Q version?
    Thanks.

Both cards are limited at 110W, the same as the Quadro P4200 and P5200 which are "normal" cards available in the 7730, so there is no potential issue with power draw.
They aren't specifically labeled as "Max-Q" but they do have significantly lower power limits than the same chips seen in desktop cards.

So...it should be a straight in replacement, shouldn’t be.?
Do you know if anyone here in the forum took the plunge?
    Thanks

@Ionising_Radiation upgraded a Precision 7530 from a P3200 to RTX 3000, and later to RTX 5000. It's a drop-in replacement, but you do have to mess with the NVIDIA INF file to get the driver to load (as is normally the case with these sorts of upgrades). Since then, a number of 7530 users have also upgraded their GPU; however, I haven't heard many/any stories about the Precision 7730, but I don't see why it would be different.

So....before spending an arm and a leg into the RTX 4000, a friend of mine let me install his RTX 4000.I did upgrade beforehand to win10 2004 edition. To our surprise we benchmarked my 7730 with UNigine Superposition version and found out that the only gpu available was the intel one.
We dissasembled again my machine and reinstalled it on the 7740 working perfectly.
    It was weird.Any ideas?

If you installed the NVIDIA driver but the GPU didn't show up as a choice for rendering, most likely the INF mod was done incorrectly. This is a pretty common problem. Check my post here and note that the "hardware ID" for Optimus on and Optimus off are different so you must check carefully when choosing which one to modify in the INF file. If you pick the wrong one, the driver will appear to install correctly but Optimus will not work (you'll be stuck with Intel GPU only).

What if I disable de intel gpu on the Bios?
I will try your idea as well. Thanks

My fear is that something is wrong with the card. How can I test it from Windows?
