Apparently rolling back, restoring to default settings, and then upgrading again allows undervolting again. Dell's implementation of the BIOS apparently didn't completely lock the necessary bit required.

    See below.

What kind of temperatures are you guys getting on your PCH?

I noticed today that mine is around 90 C at idle, and goes a good chunk beyond 100 C under load... seems very high.

Hi. Mine during standard work - no game is around 50 C, at idle is 45 C. During gaming, doesn't exceed 75 C

Please check and see if you have PCIe link state power management set to "maximum power savings" in Windows advanced power options... It runs really hot if you do not.

Yeah, that helped. It was set to 'off'. IIRC, I did that when I had issues with my docking station back when it was new and didn't work.

Speaking of docking stations... One of my TB18DC's died, and the other is no longer recognized as a 210W power brick. I'm only getting 130W system power at best without an extra brick. This started last week too, like most of my other woes... Worked fine before.

    sigh...

I appreciate this was some time ago, but what was the old screen you replaced , and did you need to change the cable ?

I have a wx7100 dGPU with the HD+ screen which is awful, but i understand is a 30 pin connector

I've had ongoing issues with the TB18DC dock and my 7730. I've accepted that the TB18DC is an expensive, flaky product. Typically when I run into issues, I have to power everything off, reboot the 7730 and plug every peripheral back into the TB18DC one at a time, while doing a rain dance and hope that the Dell Gods are appeased by my piety and allow everything to work again.

But today I can't get things working again. My third monitor (i.e. 7730 + 2 external monitors) which was working this morning no longer works. I've gone through all the usual steps (including the rain dance) but although Windows Display Settings shows the monitor when it's plugged in (and removes it when it's not plugged in), that monitor is dimmed and I can't access or change an settings on it.

If I unplug the second monitor (which is working), THEN the third monitor works, so I know that the third monitor is functional. But as soon as I plug the second monitor back in, the third goes back into zombie state.

Everything was working this morning. A couple of hours later, it doesn't work. As part of the troubleshooting, I've updated all of the 7730 firmware and drivers and ensured that the TB18DC firmware is up to date as well.

    Any ideas?

Perhaps nVidia Optimus is off in the BIOS? I've actually had pretty good luck with the TB18DC after the last round of firmware updates about a year or so ago. I usually run the laptop display & 3 1920x1200 monitors & did have an odd issue where two of the monitors were not recognized. Fortunately a wiggle/flex of the thunderbolt cable resolved it. What are the resolutions of the monitors & how are they connected (DP, HDMI, etc).
