    The latter is what i hope will happen soon. I'm just trying to gather as much info as i can from this forum.
    You guys are always willing to help other users and i try to do the same if i feel i can give good advices thanks to what i'm learning here.

    This year's pre-assembled dell precisions available in my country (the ones i can actually afford thanks to big discounts through online resellers) are a bit disappointing. All three 7540 configurations have an unacceptable 45% color gamut, while the only 7740 available has 9850h with rtx 3000 and carbon fiber lid (i was hoping for i9-9880h + aluminum lid at least). So i'll see if i can get a nice deal through a sales rep on the Black Friday week.

    So do you have the regular battery on your 7530 or the long life one and you managed to find a solution to set charge limit on it ?

    What type of battery do you have on your 7730 ?

    6-cell 97Wh Lithium Ion battery with ExpressCharge™
    or
    6 Cell 97 Whr Long Life Cycle Lithium Ion Polymer Battery(3 Years Warranty) ?

    Has anyone else had their video output black out once in a while?

    My screen goes black once in a while when I connect it to the laptop, but not when it goes through the dock. Both HDMI and DP, both of my monitors.

    No. Most of the time I use a Dock, but sometimes I use a Dell U2412 1900x1200 directly connected via DP to my 7730 which has only the Intel GPU, without black outs.

    Try to go here--->https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19?c=us&l=en&~ck=mn
    and enter the service tag of your 7730.
    (should be on the bottom cover, look for "SERVICE TAG(S/N): XXXXXXX").

    Then click on "View System Configuration" next to "Product Details" and search "battery" and then see which part number do you have compared to those listed here:
    https://itprice.com/dell-price-list/battery 97 whr.html

    @Hopper82 Hi !
    I see from this post that you have the long life battery on your 7740. Would it be possible for you to check through dell support webpage (using your service tag) which part number does your battery have ?
    (maybe from 7730 to 7740 dell has decided to keep the same part number)

    Directly from the label: 0VRX0J.
    Anyway I think that the 'long life thing' is a fixed setting in the bios, not in the battery itself.
