You can configure a MacBook Pro with that amount if you try. Apple gouges on some of the upgrades. IIRC just getting a 4TB SSD inside adds $2800 to the price.
(Dell charges a lot for their SSD upgrades, too, but at least with their systems you can crack them open and install your own drive if you like...)

    [Edit]
Nevermind... I went and tried it, and indeed the 4TB upgrade is $2800 as I remembered, but, the most expensive system that I could come up with was just over $7000. It probably gets marked up some in other countries, though.

To think I was grumbling about the $600 price of a Samsung 4TB SSD.

So, I think I found the source of the lousy battery life problem: I checked/enabled Secure Digital Card (SD) Read-Only Mode in the BIOS, and my power draw plummeted to 6 W.

    Wow.

EDIT: I spoke too soon. However, I am positive I saw about thirty seconds of 6 W power draw. Why do you bamboozle me so, Windows?

Have you checked power draw or battery life with say, safe mode when basically all background stuff is disabled? Maybe it's a matter of disabling everything and then turning things on one by one until the culprit is found... It could well end up being something silly like the SD card reader driver.

    Hey Guys,

Got 7530 with 4K screen recently. Came from an X1 extreme which had to return due to bios update failures multiple times. The machine itself is fine but the screen is very grainy. Not sure if this is mine or all of the 4K screen on this machine like that or I have a bad panel.

I never thought of the 4K screen in my 7530 as "grainy". However, if you are used to a glossy panel, then a matte panel might seem a bit "grainy" by comparison. (I'm not sure what type of panel the X1 has.) Can you check what kind of panel you have (hwinfo64 or moninfo?). The only one that I have heard of people getting is a Sharp LQ156D1, but Dell has been known to use different panels in the same system.

Thanks for replying. Yes, mine is also using the same panel but when I scroll a webpage with a white background I see grains which don't move with the scrolling. Not sure if I am able to explain.

Please review this short clip I recorded on phone:

Edit: The X1 extreme display was a bit glossy but my wife has an XPS 15 with 4K which is matty and everything is so sharp on XPS in comparison to 7530.

Can't really tell much from the video, what is actually a problem vs. video compression artifacts. Anyway I'll say again that I never considered my 4K screen to be "grainy" at all, a white background is solid white. The only issue that I have with it really is it "dims" a little if you aren't looking at it straight-on. (The 1080p IPS display in my 7510 did not do that.) If you think you may have a bad panel you can contact Dell and they will send someone out to replace it.

yeah, the video got compressed while uploading I guess. I also see white background but when you scroll up/down I can see the grains which stay like dirt on the screen but there is no dirt as the screen is clean. To me, it seems display has some kind of overlay which is making this effect.

Please see below comment from the Notebookcheck review. This is exactly what I mean:
    https://www.notebookcheck.net/Dell-...Quadro-P3200-Workstation-Review.346631.0.html

"Colors are vibrant on our 4K UHD test unit with good contrast. Beyond that, however, most everything else is average. The display is not as bright as the XPS series or even the ThinkPad P1 and black levels aren't as deep. Furthermore, the matte panel suffers from a grainy overlay that prevents onscreen content from looking as sharp as they do on the glossy XPS 15 9575. "

Thing is, from all the messages here, this issue apparently transcends OSes; I just installed Arch Linux, and haven't even set up a DE yet, and I'm stuck at ~ 20 W power draw. I'll humour you, though; I need to find a way to launch HWiNFO in safe mode, first...
