Just for informative purpose. I opened the TB18 today. PCB seems nearly equal to TB15. I will try to install some heatsinks because fan starts a few minutes after power on and is louder than the 7730. When box is open fan is off but USB hub and controller are around 55°C and DP hub is around 60°C.

That's odd... What do you have attached to it? I've never heard the fan kick on in my TB18DC.

Nothing special. Two monitors (hdmi and mini dp). Ethernet, Keyboard, mouse and scanner.

Do you know why am I getting this message when I try to run the latest Nvidia Quadro update 24.21.14.1163,A03 from Dell Support?

Do does anyone know why, when I try to run the latest Dell ControlVault2 Driver and Firmware update 4.9.24.58, A15 from Dell Support am I getting on the installer that I can only remove the components (as if I have the same version already installed), when in Device Manager it shows I have an older version?

The version of ControlVault that shows in Device Manager does not match the version shown on the web site. You'll even see that the two different devices that show in Device Manager have different versions and date for the driver. Don't ask me why, this has always been the case. Check the version installed in the "Uninstall programs" control panel. (You'll have to click "Programs and Features" on the right to get the older view which shows the installed version number.)

As for the NVIDIA one, all I can say is get the drivers from NVIDIA directly (that's what I've always done anyway).

    Hello,

First time here. My Precision 7730 arrived 10 days ago and I'm having a real issue...

    This is my configuration:

    Intel Core i9-8950HK (Six Core 2.90GHz, 4.80GHz Turbo, 12MB 45W)

    ST2000LM007-1R8174 2000GB Hard drive
    KXG50PNV1T02 NVMe TOSHIBA 1024GB

    NVIDIA Quadro P5200
    Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630

    64.0GB, 4x16GB, DDR4-2666MHz S DRAM, 4 DIMMS, Non-ECC

    4-cell 64Wh Lithium Ion batter y with ExpressCharge™

Something seamed a little off and got me intrigued (in a very bad way)

I'm supposed to use this machine for After Effects, Premier and Cinema 4D, mostly.
But rendering times were very bad, with both Octane and Redshift. So bad that I ran the same renders on my desktop pc with i5 - 16 GB ram - and Nvidia 1060 6gb and what the desktop rendered in 2min the Precision rendered in 10min... Something was clearly wrong so I ran sam Benchmarks and tests, in all of the the Quadro P5200 failed miserably. I will add a screenshot. https://ibb.co/Y8CCB7y

Yeah, I thought about doing that. But I've been waiting to get this laptop for a while now and took advantage over Black Friday to order one. I felt like a kid at Christmas when it arrived :) If I wasn't 100% sure that the damage was cosmetic only I would have asked for a replacement.

I disabled C states again on my 7730. Otherwise the mouse movement is lagging when I use the touchpad.

Starts lagging, when the CPU is around 1.5 Ghz and lower. So using the high perf power plan makes the touchpad smooth again but drains the battery.

    Anyone else seeing this?

I'm seeing that too, and have in the past as well. You can grab them from Nvidia's site as the ODE drivers.
